Super baby??

My almost 17 week old is crawling... Not just army crawling but full blown hands and knees crawling. Is this normal??? Anyone else have a super baby? I'm a tad stressed about this right now. I have 9 nieces and nephews and they were around 6-7 months old when they started.

Re: Super baby??

  • Lol I had a feeling is get that but I'm being dead serious.
  • Loading the player...
  • I cannot imagine
  • Is LO sitting up on his/her own too?
  • Like legit crawling or "scooting"? My LO is almost 4 months & starting to scoot but that's different. Also I missed the deal about the word "super", what's that about?
  • I feel like you must be exaggerating...?

  • A few things... I missed the thing with the word super can someone please explaine. It is physically possible because she is indeed crawling, not just scooting. She started scooting about 3 weeks ago and pulling herself up to sit last week. And is it possible to upload a video from mobile?
  • And I wish I was exaggerating :( it makes me sad that it's all happening so fast

RE: super -- I don't think it's been a specific topic on this board, but my guess is that it is disliked simply because it implies that your baby is "better" than others, or that the rest of our babies are inferior to yours. (I don't personally take offense.)

RE: video -- you would prolly have to upload to YouTube then post the link.

  • Omg I'm so sorry I seriously would never try to make anyone feel like my baby is better than anyone else's! Ahhhh sorry guys! (Frowning on myself)

I'll try to get to my desktop tomorrow it's in a room that's under construction.
  • I gotta see this!

  • Oh wow. My girls started sitting around 4 months, but pretty average in the crawling dept.
Must be quite the thin to see such an itty bitty crawling!

She is tiny. She was born small and has had issues gaining sense birth. She's right at 10 pounds. She's always been strong, she was holding her own head up unassisted early as well and she's been rolling sense she was 2 months old.
  • You guys can call bs all you want ;) I wish it was bs. When I can record it and get to my desktop I'll post a link.
  • Record it on your phone and upload to YouTube. You don't need your desktop.
    THIS.

  • Wait until the October board gets a load of this lol
  • All the "I wish it wasn't true" makes this sound like a total humble brag, OP.

4 month crawling... Guess not impossible? DS crawled at 5 months. I can't picture a 10 pound baby crawling, though. Probably because my baby was 10 pounds at 2 weeks. Really need to see this lil one in action.

  • Ds1 was 5 months (close to 6) when he started legit crawling. He was tiny too, but not as tiny as op's lo. I remember thinking he was going to do it for a while before he actually did (up on hands and feet with his butt in the air) so while I don't think it's common, I don't think it's impossible either.

  • I believe it. I would have a really hard time believing it if I didn't see my youngest brother do it. He was a big baby, but crazy strong. He rolled over when he was a week old, and he was crawling at four months. I'm glad my babies haven't followed his curve. I'm sorry she won't slow down a bit for you.

I will settle for pic on all fours.
    You have to have that

  • The baby in that video looks older than 4 months to me.

Definitely possible! Thing is the baby could be 2 days away from turning 5 months and still be "4 months old". There's a lot of time in there.

    Ahh, this makes sense!
  • OP was last active about an hour ago ... WHERE YOU AT @NKHEAD? SHOW US YOUR BABY!

  • Idk where it gets being active an hour ago but I haven't been on sense 7am ans it's now 2pm. We have been on the road sense 9am. My DH had a death in his family so we are going to be with them.

For all you disbelievers when we return home the first thing I'll do is get you a video.

Ummmm my 5 and a half month old isn't crawling...Now, he was early so whatever, but I would say that crawling at 13 weeks is not the norm. That being said, if LO is crawling, why are you concerned? I mean babies are going to do what babies are going to do.

FTR O has been stuck at the roll on to his side and get stuck with his arm out for like 2 months now. Damn kid just will NOT roll over back to belly!
