Prefacing that I had a super busy day at work and am just getting caught up so I'm only through 2 pages: I saw somewhere a story on the basic process for making clothing for retail. It's a basic assembly line so everything gets touched by many people and you don't know how many times it has or hasn't fallen not the ground, and that's just assembly, not packaging and distribution. Don't get me wrong, most of my new stuff doesn't get washed before wearing but it has me second guessing it, especially for my new kid with lower immunities.
Yeah...still isn't bothering me. lol
Am I heartlessly practical?

Besides that I get grossed out not only by whatever they do to the fabrics (spraying chemicals, etc.) but by what people do to the clothes...buying/wearing/returning, trying on while sick, sneezing on, wiping their nose on them, germy kids playing with them, trying on while sweaty or dirty, etc. People can be gross and inconsiderate.
What are the odds this is happening with newborn clothes? Come on...
Also, you can usually tell the clothing that has been worn.

I was definitely talking about clothes for me there not infant clothes. Chemicals would be for all clothes though. We all have sensitive skin and 100% get a rash if we don't wash first.
I have not seen Frozen but I am so tired of reading all the hype on my FB newsfeed. No I do not want to see you, your kid, your grandma, or your dog sing Let it Go.

But my husband can sing it in a Sean Connery voice. Do you want to see that?
Haha… we totally watched Frozen tonight! My boys love it (which just thrills DH haha)! DH and I were having a jam sesh on the guitar after the movie singing Let it Go. Totally annoying but there is something highly addictive about that song!

Ooh, there is my UO right there! I thought Frozen was weird and not that great. The songs kind of sucked. The lil' snowman Olaf was cool, but nobody else was memorable.
I really don't know why men become OBGYNs. How do you develop a specialized interest in lady parts outside of some really weird stuff?
I only bring this up because EVERY male OB I've seen so far was old, very awkward in feeling around for baby and her heartbeat, and tried to be a "funny guy" about some serious issues.
Well, I wasn't going to comment on any of these since it's way past Thurs. and someone will surely get their panties in a bunch over that, but oh well.
Ugh. Seriously? My brother is an OB/GYN so, yeah, this rubs me the wrong way. He is chief resident of his program and extremely well-respected by his colleagues and patients. In fact many patients ask specifically for him. He became an OB/GYN for many reasons including the fact that he loves delivering babies and he likes the fact that most of his patients are having a positive experience. In other words, it's more the positive side of medicine rather than having mostly patients who are really sick or dying of something.
Also, you realize that doctors aren't thinking of your "lady parts" as anything sexual or enticing, right? As any doctor, it's just another part of your anatomy that needs care. I mean, do you have the same worries about a female OB who's a lesbian? Grow up!
For one of my last appt.s I had an older male OB and he was great (if a little paternal), not "weird" or "creepy" at all. Maybe the problem is your interpretation.
They have just selected for it over time and have a certain breed of chicken that is known for producing large breasts. The poultry industry does not use hormones, they just feed them well and they grow at a rapid rate. Also, I think the brine they can pump them with allows it to be 20% of the weight (I could be off on my number here, but it is a decent percentage), so that adds to the volume significantly. If you like smaller breasts you are better off buying non-enhanced breasts, but they easily dry out when cooking since they don't have the extra solution.
I like what you are saying, but just for my peace of mind, where do you get your info?
Conveniently leaving out the fact that those chickens bred for extremely large breasts are so top-heavy that they can't even stand up and often have leg disorders and heart problems. And are pumped full of antibiotics. Plus most of their lives are spent in tiny cages stacked on top of each other. Just to add to the info.
shanicenicolle-- Hopefully. Though babies are a very limited part of an OBs practice. Maybe the guys I've seen like babies but feel like they can be rude to the babies' mothers...
Ecomom17- as I've responded to lots of other ppl who have experience with some GREAT male OBs... I'm very glad your brother is nice and normal and not uncomfortable to be around. I'm a pretty laidback person, not judgmental, I've just had some VERY bad experiences with male OBs. I know and am very glad that there are nice ones out there. I've just had some terrible luck, I guess. :P
Speaking of the OBGYN thing, I asked my doctor at my morning appointment. Here was his response.
It was really a few things that had me choose this route:
I liked that it included surgery, but it was really family medicine. I liked that I got to continue relationships with my patients for years, and now, just began seeing (and delivering) their children and grandchildren. It's really cool for me.
Overall, OBGYN is the happiest, and most positive specialty field. I'm bringing life into this world. No other field deals with such pure happiness and positivity day in and day out.

That's so awesome! Man, I think I would really like a good male OB!
Why did I have to get the rudest, jerkiest, most condescending chauvenist-type man in the practice???!!!! ughhhhh
