  • Actually lost my sh*t on a David's Bridal customer service person. 6 months pregnant, was guaranteed a refund on a bridesmaid dress for a wedding I can't even attend (let alone wear the damn dress for) 5 months ago, and they still call once a month to see when I'll pick up my dress.

David's Bridal is, without a doubt, the most Draconian of businesses. I was head over heels in love with my dress but everything about their customer service makes me want to stick things into my eye just to have something to swirl around in my brain.

  • My parents took me out to dinner tonight, which was super sweet. We ended up at T.G.I.Fridays, and I had a bomb sirloin.

My mom proceeded to order a brownie obsession, which is so damn good. And while I can handle her eating it in front of me when I can't have any, it killed me that she didn't even finish it. Dammit woman you are wasting perfectly good dessert!!

Eek! Old thread from 2011 but fisting to prep for labor? I'm equal parts horrified and entertained!

How in the world did you find this??? This is crazy! And the poor OP is so clueless!

  • Just finished two days at the Lucas Oil Off-road Races in Lake Elsinore. Can I just say that I LOVE that sport and I cannot wait to take this little guy with us! CANNOT WAIT!

Not uncommon practice in natural birth prep for people who want to minimize the risk of tearing. :)

I just clipped my dog's toenails and got one of her back ones too short. I have only clipped too short one other time and this time it bled a lot worse. I got the bleeding stopped but I am still worried about her and feel sick that I hurt her. :(

I bring him in to get them clipped for this very reason. He's already extremely skiddish

  • Goddammit.

I don't miss him, I really don't. I just still don't understand why. Why she was a better SO than me. Why he gave up on us. Why he cheated so much in the first place.

My dreams are my worst nightmare; a place for me to write stories of why... And they aren't pleasant.

@literachick How does one mess up the pronunciation of Brom?! Sorry love. She sounds like a treat.
I'm such a bitch. I'm having a hard time warming up to DH's friend's new gf because her dog's name is Maddie. My DAUGHTER is Madeleine and her DOG is Madison, but still both are Maddie. And I would give zero shits except she talks about her dog all the damn time. I get that her Maddie is her baby, but Christ Almighty it's irritating.

Our dog has very long quicks, so clipping almost always results in bleeding. We got a cheapie Dremel tool from Sears and grind his nails down. He still doesn't love it, but it's way less traumatic this way.

  • @ichabody‌ I am so sorry you're going through this. My XH was a chronic cheater, but I never knew till the end. There is NO reason why he did it...she isn't better, faster, stronger, or anything. It's just opportunity, and he's a scum bag.

  • @ichabody - you can never understand because you aren't a cheating asshole. ((Hugs))

Can anyone tell me what the etiquette is for thank you gifts after you purchase a home? I'm planning on at least sending thank you cards to our realtor, attorney, etc, because they really did a lot to help us but should I send a gift to the realtor as well? I dunno what the typical protocol is.
  • I went to a baby shower today for a lady at church. I was at another one a few weeks ago for another lady at church. They make me super excited for our own shower, but then I get overwhelmed looking at how much stuff we'll have to organize!

  • @aliletz - those are some hexipuffs (double sided hexagons) I knit over the past few weeks.  The pattern is called the beekeeper's quilt.  I can't really handle a much bigger project than that.  They are eventually supposed to be joined into a blanket.  I got to 25 and was quite proud of myself, haha.  Here is a pic of what it could look like one day:

@knittylady That's awesome!! How long have you been working on it?

We've decided on the style of letters for our alphabet wall :-) Now I'm really excited to go buy them! Decorating & hanging them over the crib is my next project. I'm saving my cross stitch pieces for last. I figure that will be a good thing for me to do in June when I'm big & can't lean over a table comfortably.
  • @aliletz - I only have been working on my current one for about 3 weeks so only have 25 finished. The one from the original pattern in the pictures I posted has close to 400 puffs in it. I just love the look of it!

I'm watching My Five Wives and I've been wondering how ttc works when you only get every 5 nights. Seems like they have a lot of kids in that family considering.
I think this was discussed before somewhere else and basically when one of the wives is TTC, they swap out nights to give her more time with him, if I remember correctly.  I don't watch the show, but that's what I remember from the thread about it.  Whether they temp or not to know when the fertile window is a whole other question, though.

I'm 90% certain we are having a boy. Until I see this quilt my MIL's sister made for the baby. It's purple and floral. Anytime I see it, something in me twinges, and I'm positive we are having a girl.
I was positive with DS that he was a boy, and now I'm feeling positive about a girl. I'm going to feel a little foolish if baby comes out and is a boy since I've sort of bought girl clothes and am making the gender neutral room lean a little more feminine....
I'm really not trying to feel one way or the other about it, but I do keep having these thoughts that this LO is a girl and I keep trying to push them back.  I show things that I think are gender neutral to DH for the nursery and he keeps pointing out all the floral stuff in it, so I guess it's in my subconscious at this point (not that a little boy can't have floral things in his room, but DH doesn't like floral stuff generally).
