  • DH just asked me if a work trip to Chile July 7th- 9th is out of the question. Ummm, the due date is July 20th, what do you think I'm going to say genius?
Yeah....I'm not sure foreign governments are real keen on letting really pregnant women travel into the country anyway.
Oh no, this was a work trip for him. He was pretty much asking if I thought him being gone that close to the due date was a big deal. This pregnant gal will be at home.

DH has a business trip scheduled 8 days before my EDD. It's only to the next state over and about a 3 hour drive, but DS came a week early and I progressed really fast. Needless to say I'm not happy with his plans, but it's a client he has a hard time pinning down so he's got to take advantage of him being available.

  • Someone please put a finger one why exactly it boils my blood when a 21 year old barista calls me, "Darlin'" every single time she sees me.

I'm a customer, her elder and not her "darlin'" but am I being oversensitive?

I've been in Customer Service for over 15 years now and I cannot comprehend why this is OK. Thoughts?

My OB calls me "honey" all the time.  Somehow it didn't even occur to me that might be weird until now!  People calling me nicknames usually bothers me too... although I think I only notice if there is something else I don't like about their personality.  Maybe it's something else that drives you crazy?  Is she overly chipper before you've had a chance to drink some coffee? ;-)

My OB says kiddo.... I'm ok with it except that I can hear her saying it to all the other patients through the walls soooo.... Insert "wahhhhh I'm not special" GIF.

My day was so long and so busy that I just had to rage eat a bowl of cereal.

And I had an instant desire to eat a choc iced cake donut from Dunkin, simply because I stood up from my office chair.... Hmmmmmm

I ate 3 chocolate sprinkled donuts about an hour ago. If the heartburn wasn't such a bitch I would so get more

Random thought: I'm wondering if we should take bets on how many are gonna give birth in June. June 14 board had like 25 May births

My question about this is are they regs or are a bunch of randoms posting birth stories? Is that normal for a BMB? I don't think I was on DDs then
I'm not sure I don't follow their board enough to recognize names/regulars but it seems fairly common

  • So the $150 we have to pay next week for the water birth room? Just went towards the $220 we are putting into new tires right this minute :-(. Really, tires? You couldn't have held out for 2 more weeks when my uncle was going to fix them?!

    Boooooo! :-q

DH has to fly to Boston the week before my RCS. Even though I know everything will probably be OK and it's just for a day, I'm still freaking out. Not cool DHs!

I get that you've got to do what you've got to do, but he already knew my feelings on this and still felt the need to call me to basically ASK if he should/could go. He admitted that part of him wanted to go, but needed me to say yes first. Here I am just trying to figure out what exactly was going through his mind when he thought that was a good idea. What was I supposed to say, "sure hun, I know you don't absolutely have to go but please go to Chile on this work trip, even though it will be crunch time." Maybe I'm irrationally pissed about this, but I am just mad that he felt the need to ask me in the first place.

That's probably best, they're kind of becoming dramalicious.

    Also, I want donuts now.

Also, I'm so down to have a bet going about June Babies. I'm a June baby, and I'll be 36w6d on my birthday! Once our babies are "full term" we can totally be ok with them getting here early, right?

@tundrabunny‌ I have my weekly check up appointment Thursday.

  • @knittylady‌ my DH said his boss mentioned at trip to Florida the end of June (we live in Indiana). It's not mandatory and I flat out said "no". The last thing I want is him gone and I end up having the baby while he's away.
  • Tomorrow is my last day before summer break. It is also my last day at my current position as I will only be a sub next year so I can make my own schedule. I'm laying here, WAY past when I should have been asleep wide awake second guessing my decision to leave my position...

@ahjahbaba‌ - I'm sorry that you are stressed out about it. Any life change is really hard, and add a baby on top and it is exponentially more difficult. I'm mobile, so I can't see your siggy, but a lot of my friends and I had a hard time with stuff like this when we had our first.

It is completely natural, and as you find your groove, it will fade. When one door closes, another one opens somewhere and you'll find it :)

Change is difficult. You'll probably feel a little weird now and when school starts back up, but hopefully soon start to love it! If it doesn't work out, is there a chance to get a full-time position back?

  • SO just got called into work, which means this will be the first dr appt he's missed since we found out we were pg. I know it's just a standard appt and it's probably really no big deal, but I totally sat here and ugly cried for a couple of minutes after he walked out the door. What the hell is wrong with me these days?
Aww...hugs. DH hasn't come to one single appointment with me this pregnancy. He always stays with DS/is working.

RE: crying....yep...it's happening a lot here too. Many things seem to be going wrong/not working out the first time and it sends me over the edge.

    Good morning ladies! Muahahahahaha!

I liked you once upon a time.
Haha I was thinking the same thing. If you don't have enough to share (and a way to portal them to us) that's just cruel and unusual punishment to your fellow pregnant ladies!
Lol! I'm pretty sure I've said the same thing to PP who post pics of cupcakes from their gender reveal or showers. :)

I ordered bedding from Etsy on 4/28. They said it would be 2 weeks to a month. When I checked today (no update from them since the order was placed), they said they were delayed because of Memorial Day...

Ok, I get maybe a shipping delay but saying something isn't done bc of a holiday at the end of the due date is pretty annoying right? Am I being unreasonable?

Um...Memorial Day is not some random floating or new holiday. That should not factor into something ordered a month prior. You are not being unreasonable.
    *******

This. And if you paid via PayPal, keep an eye on that 45 day window to open a claim. I'd tell them if you're not provided with tracking information by June 7 (40 days) you are opening a claim with paypal. You'll be happy to close the claim once you receive your products, but this is protecting you. This shouldn't be an issue since they said it'd be done within 30 days. And take screenshots of any convos where they said the 30 day timeframe.

Hmmm… I just don't like that they didn't tell you about the delay. I get that sometimes things come up to delay production, BUT if there was ever a chance that I *might* be delayed on an item I would notify my customers immediately. Most of the time I would still have it out on time, but I felt like it was the customers right to know of a possible delay and would have gladly given refunds if anyone so desired. I would definitely stay on top of this and maybe check into their feedback to see if you need to be watching for anything.

  • Speaking of the crying... I posted a pic of me and my husband on Facebook last night, thinking I looked super hot in it. And one of my best friends asked me why I looked so sad. I didn't say it, but thought, "I dunno, because I am constantly on the verge of tears." No good reason, either. But, the smallest thing will set me off and I am really not a crier normally.

symphony4586 Spinning Babies is a great site....ancient but the info is good. Did a lot of "Cat - modified Cow" <--- yoga term and by modified I mean I didn't let my belly just drop but just tilted my pelvis down slightly. The Inversions look scary but if you have someone there it was good. Was also told to try doing head stands in the pool but holding my breath and trying to literally get upside down wasn't going to happen. Spent mucho time watching the hockey games rolling my hips around on a birthing ball.
