He's a contractor. He owns his own carpentry business, mostly does residential remodels/additions/framing. He also builds furniture. He just built me a kitchen island!

If you had to choose just one item of your LO's (blanket, toy, outfit, etc.) to keep for sentimental value, and the rest were going to be gone forever, what would you choose and why?

I would keep her Rue/Roo/Roux (clearly we haven't figured out spelling yet).  It's a pink amigurumi bunny of sorts wearing a black top hat.  Some friends of ours in Serbia sent it for LO.  I feel like it above all us fits in with our household the most, and that is why it would be chosen. 

What items of yours from babyhood and childhood were preserved, saved, or otherwise set aside? Is there anything of yours that you wish would have been saved but that was not?

My baby shoes. I wished she had kept my FP little people toys. I had a carnival I loved! And my musical rocking chair. I would walk around with it stuck on my butt so I could always sit in it.

How did you and DH or SO meet?

There's a sports bar in town that makes amazing burgers. They have several different, unique ones, including a peanut butter burger. My favorite, though, is simple--a ranch burger. Burger, cheese, Bacon, seasonings (their secret has to be in the seasonings!) and ranch dressing on a toasted bun. I try to replicate them at home but it's never the same.

Does your LO have a tooth yet? None here yet, but I think we're getting close.

What sports did you play when you were in middle school?

Yes. I went to a taping of the Price Is Right. I didn't get picked but our seats were right behind the contestants so you see me every time they bid to get on stage. You can see us talking about a lady we didn't like.

Would you rather own a vacation house at the beach or in the mountains? Why?

Well, I like flying. But I think the train beats it. I LOVE taking the train.

My honeymoon to maui, we were gone for 11 days and it was magical. We snorkeled and saw sea turtles, amazing!

When I was pregnant I dreamt I was living next to a major airport and all of the planes were flying really low very slowly upside down. One even did a loop. There were booms like sonic booms and then all the planes stopped moving mid air, upside down but didn't fall from the sky.

What did you register for at your wedding that you received and now years later question why?
For me it was different types of glasses. We have 2 dozen champagne glasses, 2 dozen red wine glasses, a dozen white wine glasses, a dozen fancy beer pilsners, 2 dozen regular pint glasses, a dozen ice tea glasses and a dozen juice glasses. We don't really drink and I haven't had a drinking party/social since my DS. Not to mention the butt load of plastic cups from all the "very important events" we needed the souvenir cups.

This is tricky because I love being in my own bedroom and LOs because it's typically relaxing (nursing or sleeping). However, my favorite room decor speaking would be our dining room. It's so purdy!

What teacher impacted you most growing up (subject/grade/personality)? How did they impact you?

I've been blessed by having so many wonderful teachers.  I had a hardass 1st grade teacher who I feel got me off to a good start by having very high expectations and holding me to them, even if it made me cry.  I had a similar English teacher my senior year.  I learned a lot from them both.  

I had a really lovely art teacher for all four years throughout high school.  She was very gentle and caring, and was exactly what I needed at that time.  

And lastly, I had a gorgeous beast of an AP US history teacher.  My entire body would blush the moment I stepped into his classroom, and he would tease me about it.  I loved and hated that.  He also made us work our asses off and was one of the few teachers to ever teach us skills applicable to the real world.  I learned so much in that class, and a lot of it didn't even have to do with history.  

Do you keep up with any of your former teachers?

Yes, just two. My 8th grade English teacher, on Facebook. And my 12th grade government teacher, on Facebook and in real life. I babysat her daughter (who was one then) the year after I graduated. Then she was the flower girl in our wedding.

What was your favorite toy growing up?

I had a big yellow chicken that you you could ride on. It had a rope-pull stein attached to it.

I used to hook the dog and leash to it and he would haul ass dragging me with him

Well since we don't keep secrets here in S13 it was of my butt, for my DH (requested). So naughty. Truth be told the last like 5 photos was of my butt... do you know how hard it is to take a good photo of your butt, suck in your tummy, crop out the stretch marks and get the right lighting... it's very damn hard...

I have a trident case that is black and lime green. My friend's son politely pointed out that my phone has "heft". It's heavy but it has survived plenty of drops.

Do you have a favorite book?

Oh yes, I love reading. My all-time favorite is Peace Like A River by Leif Enger. But I also read Where The Red Fern Grows by Wilson Rawls and The Christmas Train by David Baldacci every year.

What is your favorite holiday tradition (for any holiday)?

Uhhmm... Wizard of Oz was on TV the other day, so we watched the second half of that.

How is your bedroom decorated?

@adrd47 what is black pasta?

My bedroom is very basically decorated. The walls are koi pond green and only a few things hanging on the walls, a tv and a newborn picture of my son. It's mostly decorated with baby stuff since LO is still in our room.

What's your favorite group game?
Mine is Mexican train dominoes

I LOVE GAMES. I recently played Cards Against Humanity, which is really fun but a little inappropriate, so you have to play it with the right group of people. I also really enjoy Taboo.

Favorite physical/outdoor game is ultimate frisbee.

Are there any basic skills that you lack? Like, something that a lot/most people know how to do, but you don't?

If you could pick something to magically be able to do without having to learn what would it be?

I think mindreading would be interesting... at least for awhile. But then I think it would be a huge burden and you'd know what everyone thinks about you (good and bad) and that could mess a lot of things up. Sooo while I want to say reading minds, I'll say flying or teleportation.

I normally do PB just because when I had GD while PG I got used to pairing carbs with a protien or another food group. There is nothing better than white toast bread with butter and cinnomon and sugar. YUM.

To @curlingrocks question: I know 'having a baby and becoming a mother' sounds lame, but... there it is.

To Kenna's question: I know this sounds weird, but the fictional character of CJ Cregg from The West Wing. I guess that wasn't really childhood, but high school. Oh well. I wanted to BE her. She's confident, crazy smart, well-spoken, and retains her femininity AND her strength while working with a lot of powerful men.

H is out of town for work.  Once I get LO down to bed, I'm going to have a bath and paint my toenails and then have dinner, and either read or watch a movie while screwing around online.  

What is the most embarrassing thing you have had happen to you?

We have a lift upstairs in our house with a pool table that was custom built. We never use it - if we do it's rare. So I actually suck at billiards haha

What is your first memory as a kid?

I can remember being at the dr office and them putting me in a sink and filling it with ice. ( I had a bad fever) When I described this to my mom (what the dr office looked like) she said I was 18 months.
