I'm about 30 miles east of where I was born, but in getting to this location, we've moved more times than I can count, including two other continents and three other countries. We've put an offer in on some land and if we get it, that would take us about 10 miles NE of where I was born.
I had this sweet light teal and pink bike that had training wheels (at first) and my dad helped me learn on our sidewalk. It was fall because there were crunchy leaves on the ground. I can't believe I remember that. I don't know how old I was. Now I love biking!
No. We did in our old apartment and I loved it. We used it for heat and it was much cheaper than using the thermostat. Plus it's cozy and looks nice and we had a place for lots more Christmas decorations, including stockings! I miss my fireplace.
Well I don't like going head first down a water slide so I am sure I would rather Luge. I would rather solo-bobsled honestly though so I could have some steal/fiberglass between me and the ice!!
Really late, usually. I've struggled a lot because my body is naturally most awake after 9pm, no matter what I do. I used to start work at 5am, but it didn't matter- as soon as it was night, I felt more productive and ready to get stuff done. It doesn't bother me, but it does seem like our society/culture really values going to bed early and getting up early, and it annoys me that you're seen as lazy if that's not how you live. My idea day would start around 11am or 12 and end at 3am. That's just my body's biological clock (my mom is the same way) and I've realized nothing is going to change that, so I just embrace it.
If you could meet any author (dead or alive), who would it be and why?
I've recently been thinking about all of the model train shows my dad used to take us to. We always thought it was so cool. Hoping he does this with DS as well.
My seat is the right chair of the love seat. DH's is the left. We just recently refurnished our living room and this was a very important question when deciding on couches. We bought rocker recliner love seats (2). Both came with a center console with cup holders and a compartment. We took the console out of the second love seat though. I absolutely love our new couches!!
What kind of phone do you have? I have an iPhone 5. It's aiight.
@sapphire0228: I know it isn't quite the same, but this is all I could picture:
The grossest thing I've ever eaten is clams, at a family reunion when I was like 8. I HATED them. Slimy and disgusting...blech. Just the memory makes me shudder.
If you could have any animal for a pet, what animal would you choose? I'm asking because I decided I NEED one of these chimera kittehs:
@Hbirdie. Yup that's pretty much us. It's kind of awesome!
I would choose a mini pot bellied pig. They make awesome pets And we have one! Little Charlotte the pig is 2 years old. She was potty trained at 2 weeks old! Her food is cheap, shes fun to play with, gets along with other pets (loves to play with our hound dog). I love my little Char Char.
What is an odd job you did as a teen?
I "babysat" two kids on a three day cruise to the Bahamas when I was 16. Their mom is a cruise exec and cruised for the meetings. She was recently divorced and she needed someone to watch the kids. Sign me up!
Ahhh good question. I worked for this kinda kooky old lady and her husband. First, they just hired me to do some gardening and random outside chores. That turned into household chores and random tasks, then I started accompanying her to garage sales, thrift stores, and antique shops to advise her on fashion decisions and carry stuff for her. She was SUCH a hoarder... finding stuff in her house was like a treasure hunt. It was a lot of fun. I ended up growing really close to them, they were really neat people. They had like nine dogs and the husband was just hilarious, always playing practical jokes and stuff. She always had me doing crazy, random stuff for her, I think she liked having company. She actually paid me to go on vacation to visit her family with her (she swore she wasn't up to driving by herself)... I got to meet her siblings and hang out and waterski and lots of fun stuff. Even after I graduated HS and was working full time and going to school, I'd visit them and hang out. They moved across the state three years ago, and last year she got a cancer diagnosis and died pretty suddenly. It's sad, I miss them a lot.
Aww I'm glad I asked that question. That was a good short story.
My favorite candy is vanilla tootsie rolls. I can only find them around Halloween time and I buy the whole mixed bag and pick them out. There's usually only like 10 so I keep them and eat them as slowly as possible.
@sapphire0228: oh my word! I looooove vanilla tootsie rolls! Except we just got a new store in town that has a huge, amazing bulk good section and there's a huge bin of flavored tootsie rolls. I've bought a bag of all vanilla ones before
I worked at an ice cream shop and love love loved it. It was my first real job, all my friends worked there, and ice cream is amazing obviously.
Geez, my GD phone autocorrected ice to I've three fricken times!
What do you do while nursing/feeding your baby? I usually Bump (like now) or play Flappy Bird.
Do you have any vacations planned for this year? We're spending a week in July in the Black Hills on the western side of the state and doing all the touristy things: MT. Rushmore, cave tours, hiking, wine tastings, etc. DH's whole family is going.
We're visiting my childhood best friend in IL sometime in the spring, going camping with my family on the WA/OR coast in the summer, and DH's family reunion is this summer (they have one every two years). Their family reunions are always somewhere different, this year they're all coming to our hometown because a cousin is getting married here, so we don't get to travel for it. But that's okay, with a baby, it'll be easier to be around here. We're staying in some cabins on a family camp thing.
Ooh, fun! DH picked mine out and it's lovely. I could've gone for something smaller, but it's beautiful. I miss it (I need to get it resized). DH made his- it's stainless steel on the outside and rosewood on the inside.
gorgeous @HBirdie! I just got mine back from resizing this past weekend It's awesome to wear them again
Thank you! You should share a picture too Do you mind if I ask how much it cost to get them resized? I don't even know what to expect... $50? $200? I have no idea but I NEED to get it done. I miss wearing them!

I went to a little, local jeweler and it was $80 total to get resized and replated ( mine are white gold). Mine were not soldered together either, that would make it cost more I think.
Well that isn't bad! Guess I'll put that on my to do list for this month. Mine aren't soldered together yet, I can't decide if I want to do that or not. I don't think mine needs to be replated, they're basically brand new and I haven't been wearing them for almost a year now so the engagement ring has had about a year and half of use on it, and the wedding band only like six months. Sweet!
@adrd47: Yeah, I thought it was pretty cool, too! He's a carpenter, but he does some welding too and he was really excited to make it. The wood is my favorite part, I wish I had a better picture of it. It was really inexpensive for him to make, which was awesome. He's thought about selling them. I think he should. And my wedding band has a protection plan because I went somewhere local to pick it out, but the engagement ring doesn't as far as I know. DH bought it online because he wanted a conflict-free diamond or something. I'll have to ask him.

I'd like to be a Callaway Rep (the golf brand). I have often entertained the idea of becoming a lawyer but I am not sure what area I'd chose.
