Bitchfest Monday

Re: Bitchfest Monday

  • @detroitmama sorry for your loss and for people's actions. I can't imagine finding out my son had died via FB which is what it would be for your grandma. Far to often people only look at how something affects them and not anyone else.

  • @Caz1221 Have you checked your fuse box yet? Maybe the fuse for the wipers could have blown and that's DEFINITELY not something you need to bring it in for. You should have a couple of extras (if not, they are cheap at a parts store) in the panel, but just try and switch it out. You'll have to look up which fuse goes for the wipers in your manual, but other than that, it's an easy fix if you haven't checked it yet. :) Hopefully it's that versus an actual electrical problem. Electrical work sucks! Good luck!

  • @detroitmama I'm so sorry for your loss. As pp have said social media can be such an intrusion on your privacy. I hope your grandmother will be ok too. Since my grandad died my nana has really deteriorated. I think she has a broken heart tbh. Death can be very hard on the elderly.((creepy internet hugs))

@HauntedRadio @kkay1982 @orlaithsheanon16 thank you ladies for your condolences! He was deteriorating quickly, losing control of his body etc so we knew it was coming but it hurts the same regardless. @rfrazier611 @lkonbriant what is the gift card deal for diapers at target? Trying to decide if it would be worth packing J up and venturing out into the frozen tundra.
$20 gift card if you buy two massive packs of pampers, and $10 when you buy two massive packs of huggies, luvs, or up&up.  There will be little tags on the shelves in the store marking the ones that get the gift card.  It's all week, so you can go when(if) it's warmer.

I would be going today too, but LO's closet is so full of diapers from the last gift card deal that there actually isn't room for another box.  One box is still in the trunk of my car.  I am a diaper hoarder.
  • Wtf body! ! I have no sex drive whatsoever....may be time to bust out fifty shades again....poor DH. :|
  • Shit. Count me in on the terrible sleep last night. Up. Every. Fucking. Hour. Ever since LO went through the sleep regression she hasn't slept good since. Ugh!! Oh and SO thinks putting her in her rnp wide awake and letting me deal with it for the umpteenth time is help. Thanks for nothing SO.
  • @detroitmama... along with pp's I'm sorry for the loss of your uncle. It's really tough. Hopefully your grandmother didn't find out via facebook and is able to sit down with her children and talk about it and grieve together. <3

  • I've had a bad earache for 2 weeks and finally went to the Walgreens clinic Saturday because I realized it wasn't going away. I got diagnosed with a middle ear infection. Then I come down with a chest cold last night. I feel like shit and I bet I got sick waiting in Walgreens on Saturday. Yuck.
Then DH lost his wallet Saturday night, so we had to cancel all our cards and now today the high is -4 and the low is -20!!! And I have to drag LO out in the cold to drive DH around to get a new license and bank card. Great. I just wanna lay in bed and be miserable.

I am trying to plan LO's christening. We are doing it in NJ, since that is where the godparents, plus all of our family live. First I was told March was fine, pick a weekend. So we did. Then they come back and tell me, oh the church does not do christenings during Lent...so this means end of April. So I said fine, April 27, since the church only does them on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of a month. Now I have to call this church, and I am required to take some sort of class. I need to see if I can take it in FL...I am not Catholic, DH is though, and we decided to christen her Catholic. They just make you jump through so many hoops to do anything, its no wonder people stopped going to church. I just want this to get done, as its also DH and I first vacation since 2006
In our Parish the Godparents have to take a class too, just an fyi. LO's godfather lives in New Orleans and he will be taking his class down there. So, they shouldn't have a problem with you doing yours locally.

My bitch is about the heater. Stupid variable speed blower...one minute it's heating fine..the next it's blasting air and burning up in the bedrooms while it's cooler in the living area. Please stop trying to cook the humans living in the house.

@detroitmama, I'm so sorry for your loss.

By bitch..I'm tired. So very tired. LO has decided that 5 am is our new wake up time.
I'm having technical difficulties with my PC/email. I have a ton of work to do today and can't seem to get motivated.
Andplusalso, Jillian Michaels kicked my ass this morning! But I'm very proud of myself for jumping back on the work out "horse". I want to loose 30-40 pounds before TTC with #2. That may sound crazy to some, but I'm trying to avoid some of the health problems I had during the last pregnancy.

On the plus side, DH comes home tomorrow. YAY! and my bestie gave birth last night to her little girl. They struggled for years with IF and we all couldn't be happier to welcome little Penelope. She came 5 weeks early but is healthy as can be. I can hardly wait to meet her at her baby shower next week.

  • ...::raises hand::... Another one to add to the shit sleep club. LO had a mad case of the farts last night. They were insanely loud as well. I asked H a couple times if it was him or if there was an old man hiding in our closet passing gas. I guess her stomach was hurting so she couldn't get comfortable.. I tried everything! AND I forgot to pay the tv bill so it's been shut off.. I couldn't watch tv last night while awake, I just had to sit in complete silence. Creepy

  • One of my husbands friends came over the other night with his girlfriend whom I am quite friendly with. We had a nice dinner and we were 1/2 way through a bottle of wine when she turns around and says " so I was on the bus today and this woman sat down beside and started breastfeeding her baby, like it was way too early in the morning for that and it was really gross, like why couldn't she feed her baby before or after she got on the bus". Needless to say dh had to literally squeeze my hand so hard to stop me from climbing down her throat! She knows I'm breastfeefing and I was really quite offended. It's hard enough that only about 18% of women breastfeed here after 2 weeks so I already feel like a pariah when NIP, but now my friends things it's abnormal and gross! Ugh! Rant over!

Welcome to the Catholic Church where nothing is simple. In my parish the godparents don't need to take the class but have to have a sponsor form filled out by the priest from their parish.
It's free to baptize except they strongly suggest a contribution. Hmm
Oh and they want us to get married in the church, not a requirement before the baptism but still something they want done since we weren't "married in the house of a God' how the heck do I plan a wedding just for God?

My bitch is since LO has been sick (finally getting better!) now he wants a motn feeding... We just got rid of it before this sickness arrived :(

I'm just recuperating from one I got last week.  I put on some crap my mom bought me (some tincture stuff from Walgreens - maybe iodine???) and it leaves a stain.  It works great to dry it up (along with the antibiotics I got from my dr).  My lip is no longer swollen and the sore is pretty much healed up but the "scar" is there and it's stained so I still look funny.

    Thanks.  :)

I had my last dr look at it and they said that even if I had it removed, it could come back, but if I left it alone, it would eventually go away. It actually went away the last time it hurt, but this time it came back with a vengeance.  My wrists hate me, so the carpal tunnel, cyst, and cold combined make the perfect storm.....

There are 6 of us with different opinions and although I really don't get involved anymore, it really makes it hard to enjoy going to my parents house for birthdays/holidays.

  • I went wedding dress shopping with my step sister yesterday and we found the most beautiful dress. It was perfect, seriously flattering, beautiful details and she decided it was "The One!".
Well, today she's calling me crying because she doesn't like it anymore and she's decided she looks fat (The sample dress was a size too small anyway) and she doesn't want it and is implying that we pressured her into getting it. Sigh.... I'm trying to be calm and supportive when really my mind is screaming for her to call her fiance with these dramatic antics cause ain't nobody got time for this! I don't know what to tell her. At this point she's tried on at least 30 dresses (no joke) and decided to buy this one. It was made very clear she can't return it once purchased and that was all fine and dandy. She loved it yesterday.
Can I just hide in a hole until wedding season is over?

One of the many reasons I love the A13 ladies! I'll ask if DH already checked the fuse box, and if not, I'll take a look when he gets home tonight. If we can fix it without taking it in, that would be fantastic!!

ETA: The manual says that even if a fuse trips, it should automatically reset, which is why I haven't checked, but I'll take a look just in case.

ETA #2: Success!!!!! The fuse was just loose, so all we needed to do was secure it better, and voila! Wipers fixed. I hereby retract my bitch and send tons of thanks for the help!!!

This is us too. 3" of snow predicted for South Alabama. On one hand, I am excited to see snow because we NEVER get snow. But...this city literally can't function with snow. The solution for Icy roads - throw some sand on it.

  • @caz1221 the fuse can trip and reset itself but the fuse could also go bad. It's worth a shot :) Hopefully it is just that so you don't have to bring it in! I hate having car work done, so any money and time that can be saved is precious time spent on something better! :D
