Hi guys, first pregnancy...... this is my test at 5 weeks 2 days. Is it a good sign that my test line is so much darker than my control line? What did yours look like at 5 weeks? I had a miscarriage in Jan and I’m a bit nervous.
Edit: I’m 6 weeks now and took a clear blue today (digital) and it still says positive but i know from personal experience that it takes a while for the hgc levels to go away after a miscarriage. I just want to know if the dark like is normal
@Knottie It’s normal. It’s called a dye-stealer. Do yourself a favor & quit testing though. I know that pregnancy after a loss is so hard. But tests aren’t going to tell you anything more now. Just give you stuff to fixate on & stress about. All you can do now is to take care of yourself, have faith, and distract yourself to pass the time until your first scan.

@dreamscapes_ Ahhhhhhh!!!!!!!! Yay!!!! Omg squee! I am SO excited for you! (Formerly know as whatsbumpingpumkin I don’t remember if you left before I changed)
I’m so confused right now, I took 2 pregnancy tests a couple of days ago (most likely around 12 dpo) and they were both faint but obviously positive. Then today I took another test and the lines are even darker and very apparent, the issue is I’ve been having intense period like cramps (not mild at all) for a couple of days so I’m 100% convinced it’s another chemical pregnancy (I’ve had one before about 2 years ago). But with my other CP I got a positive and then the very next day a negative test followed by my period. Is there a chance this isn’t a chemical pregnancy?? We’ve been trying for a while now and after testing I just broke into tears and refused to believe it because I truly feel my period coming on. When would I know if this is a chemical pregnancy or not? Is it possible to have painful cramps and be pregnant?
@katielynn123 Yes it is possible. With my first pregnancy my cramps were so period like I didn't test but when my period still never came I tested and it was positive. Went on to have a healthy pregnancy and baby. Talk to a doctor if you're worried.
I had an IUI on July 20th. Two days in a row I have gotten very faint positives that show up after 3 minutes, but before 10 using FRER. Should I switch to digital or are they less sensitive?
<div>@mamasnek Yes, digitals are less sensitive, so I tend to wait until I've seen a few positive frers before I bother with the digi. For me, it is nice to have that digital confirmation walking into my blood test, so I know what I'm getting myself into, either way. Personal preference. Totally not necessary. </div><div> </div><div>GL!!! As PP stated, a faint positive is still a positive! Only your beta will give you a quantifiable result.</div>

So I tested yesterday (11DPO) and got a faint line with an FRER after 3 minutes and a Positive with a CB Digital. Woke up this morning (12DPO) and just used another FRER with FMU because I had another one and was still kind of shocked from yesterday’s result and it came back stark white... is that possible? The FRER yesterday was with 4 hour hold and SMU. I’ll just stop testing now...see if AF comes...and try a test in a week maybe.
@sienna221 I've always had lighter lines/no lines with FMU - SMU or night time is when I got my darkest. Also, HCG doubles in 48 hrs, so testing the very next day may give you more of a mind game than anything else. I will say, based off of the 11DPO, I'd ask your doctor for blood test to confirm!
@sienna221 - and also those digitals usually read at like 50miu or more so I would imagine your next FRER (if it isn't a dud) would be quite dark. I agree with @chiciphin, my SMU or afternoon ones with 4-5hr holds were better for me too.

Howdy, y'all! Hoping for any input/knowledge you guys might be willing to impart. I had my second FET on 8/31 & blood test is scheduled for 9/9. My first FET in Feb of this year resulted in a chemical pregnancy & needless to say, I'm wary. Do you think this is on the right track? Not sure why but I would've thought today's test would be darker?
Looks great! @fxinfrisco Congratulations! My experience has been you have to be Very far along before the cheapies turn a line that looks satisfyingly "dark." Those are both clear lines with nice progression! You should be in good shape for beta! GL
@sienna221 Now that you've turned a digi, I would tend to stop testing. Depending how much longer you have to wait for beta. Frers can really vary pretty wildly, so I would try not to take too much stock in that and wait for beta. GL!
Thank you, @BusinessWife! Wed can't get here soon enough but I know that's just the first hurdle after all the others we had to jump over to get to this point. A little reassurance goes a long way so thanks again! 💜
I never thought I would be posting here, but I don’t know what to think about this test - cannot tell if it’s a line or a shadow. I’m 13dpo (LP is usually 12 days but has been 13 before) so I imagined there would be a more visible line by now if I were to be pregnant. I also got a stark white BFN on another FRER just two mornings ago (11dpo) For further context, I’ve been having tons of cramping in my pelvic area and legs for the last 2-3 days (which for me is usually a sign that AF is coming in the next 12 hours). I know all I can do is wait and see, and retest in a couple of days, but just wanted to get some feedback of line vs. shadow on this image from anyone who is more experienced 😬
@priyadoc that looks more pink than shadow to me - I'd say positive. Usually with shadow lines you have to tilt them or put them in certain light to see something.
Thank you @chichiphin@BuckeyeNut05 and @ejoseph16 for weighing in. Re-tested this morning and it’s definitely positive. I’m still finding it really hard to believe, since I had such AF-y symptoms that I was convinced AF was imminent!
