@kenshiela - I've read that eating small meals through out the day helps. Hard to do if you're nauseous, but it's good to try. I also read it's good to eat something small before getting out of bed to help curb sickness if it's primarily in the AM. Maybe some saltines and water near your bed?
Would you be able to do a smoothie? Fill it with fruit, veggies and protein and see if that helps.
Hi everyone! Just wanted to do a quick intro... Just got a BFP today at 12 DPO... This was our first cycle trying (got married in November) so I wasn't quite expecting it to be honest. Still in a bit of shock... We are both 31 years old. I'm hoping for the best and can't wait to get to know you all a bit more in this journey!
So a few things I have done lately to help with the nausea is drink instant breakfast in the morning with milk with extra protein in it. I started that halfway through the week and I felt a lot better since. Also doing the small meals every couple hours. BUT I have been completely opposite of most of you where I am having crazy insomnia. I have never had insomnia and have always been one to get in my full 8 hours every night, so this is driving me crazy! But I'll live. Congratulations to everyone!
I know 1st trimester development is crucial, but how do i stay healthy and eat the right way if im nauseous all the time & have that metallic taste in my buds! :-SS
With DS, my OB said just eat what you can when you can and keep up with your pre-natals. I went through a phase where crackers and bananas were all I could eat and he was not concerned at all.
My first time my OB said the same thing. It's hard not to worry, but just get some calories as you can. Second tri you can focus on getting all the fruits, veggies, etc. you need in.
Just found out I'm pregnant - tecnically my due date is on Sep 12th, 2014 . Taking this thread to ask you something. (as I don't know where else to post it)
The thing is that I'm going through anxiety and depression problems and my psychriatrist told me to take antidepressants, what I don't know if it's healthy for the baby for me to be taking this kind of medication. I'll be calling my shrink right away Monday and ask him, but I would like to know if any of you know.
EDD is September 7 and we have a 14 month old daughter and one heavenly baby.
Good Luck to allllllllllllll you ladies and Congrats !

Hello. I'm new here. I have not tested yet for fear its too early. Dh and I have been trying for baby #2 for six and a half years so it's still very scary for me to think about not being pregnant again. But I feel every bit of nausea, vomiting, and the like. I'm going to test probably later today. Hoping to join yall in the excitement. Congrats to all of you!
So far Theninly symptom I have is super sore boobs. I was tired for a few days but it seemed to have gone away. With Ds I was sick the entire pregnancy. Had to take zofran everyday all day. Then last week I read that that's proven to not be safe.... Please let this not happen this prenancy because idk what I would do!!
When are talks first appts?? We are military so with Ds it wasn't till 10 weeks, the rule on the military base. I'm assuming it's gonna be about that in the civilian doctors too but don't get to call until tomorrow.
Joining this Sept group! Just got my BFP on Friday. If I go based in LMP I'm due Sept 10th. If I do it based on conception date (yes...it's possible for me to know...my DH travels for work and we managed only 1 time to DTD within my ovulation window) could be as early as around Sept 5th.
I'm still way early and haven't had blood draws yet so I'm nervous. This will be our 2nd. Our little guy is 14 months. He arrived 5 weeks early (due to Preeclampsia) in Oct 2012 in the midst of Hurricane Sandy here on LI. Spent 9 days in the NICU and then came home to no power for an additional 1 and a half weeks. It was definitely a stressful time.
I'm 40 so I'm high risk already, in addition to a pre-existing heart/neuro condition and prior history of GD on top of the preeclampsia. Will call OB on Monday and hopefully get early appt.
@afrilane - you need to call your OB. I suffer from PPD after my twins were born and have been on Zoloft since. If I remember correctly, I am okay to take it during the first and second trimester but not the third - but since I can't remember for sure, I have to call tomorrow.
Since this is a September board, I'm guessing we're all about the same amount of time along. Is anyone else dealing with insatiable hunger? Is that normal this early on?? I am so hungry, but only breakfast food is appealing to me right now.
ME ME ME! It was only for a few days... and it's better, for now. But it sucks...... It's like you're always hungry... but as soon as you get food in front of you... it's like *blagh* my suggestion is eat what you can eat, when you can eat it. Even if it means small snacks throughout the day.
This has been my story for the past few days. I'm so hungry my stomach is in pain, but meals make me queasy. Just to look at them. I guess the good thing is that my first visit weight will be lower. Haha
Me(29), DH (29) Married December 2011 TTC#1 Since November 2013 Dec. 2013... BFP! 12/31/13... Natural M/C 1/29/14 (8 weeks) July 2014...BFP!... 17dpo beta 581...19dpo beta 1419!!.. stick baby, stick! EDD: 3/20/15.. It's a boy!
This has been me as well. I feel so hungry but when I eat a big meal, I end up getting sick from it, and then I feel horrible after. Time to start with small meals like snack size every couple hours.
Hi ladies - happy to find this thread, can't believe the bmb isn't up yet! EDD of 9/4 based on lmp, but I ovulate later, so thinking it could be closer to 9/8. Can't wait to get to know all of you!
I have symptoms like super sore boobs, cramps, sharp pains (OB said muscles stretching) and hunger. What I don't have is morning sickness or food aversions. I know most Moms would say this is great and I'm lucky, but I'm worried it means something is wrong with baby?
My first ultrasound is 3/3. I hate that I have to wait that long, but my maternity insurance does not kick in until 3/1.
Could anyone try and ease my mind?

@groxb - here's a link from the ttgp boards. It helped me set up my siggy! Make sure if you're inserting a ticker you're going to want to insert it like a picture using the direct link
I'm still trying to get everything centered. I've gone back and pressed the center button a few times now, and even in HTML it shows alignment as centered, but alas. No center.

So glad to have found this post, had beta drawn on 12/26 after 4 IUIs and came back positive! EDD sept 4 with our first! Had some cramping last week and light spotting this morning. U/S next Monday the 13th so fingers crossed all my symptoms are normal.

I didn't really have morning sickness with either of my first pregnancies. None so far so this one either. I've heard it usually kicks in around week 6-7 though. Lack of symptoms doesn't mean anything.
Thanks!

Hi ladies! I'm excited to join you. We got a BFP on 12/27, but will go for an ultrasound next week to determine due date since my cycle was all over the place. This is my 2nd baby, my DD is 2 now although it seems like I was just finding out I was pregnant for her!
Ugh, bring on the mood swings. I was reading the Eric Carle book, Polar Bear, Polar Bear... to my DS this morning and I almost started crying because that is the one with endangered animals. I have read it to him a dozen times at least but today it brought tears. I feel sorry for my DH, ha ha!

@lesleyn21 This is not true. There has been no information posted on the FDA website about Zofran since June 2012, when the maximum dosage allowed through IV was brought down from 32 mg to 16 mg. This was done after data from studies suggested that there are cardiological risks for people with pre-existing and/or pre-disposition to cardiological problems, and that it could (read could, not will) increase the risk of cardiological problems for someone taking Zofran if they are given the 32 mg dose intravenously. There has been no new "proof" or "study" about it being dangerous to pregnant women listed on the FDA website. The so-called warning appears to be nothing but a scare-tactic advertisement for Diclegis, another anti-emetic.

I'm hoping the HER Foundation will post something about this on their website, soon.

@amguilera33 there's a board for testing and trying to conceive. It's the trying to get pregnant board. You can post all sorts of questions and concerns in the TWW (two week wait) thread for where you're at now. Fingers crossed you don't have to stay over there long! The ladies over there have SOOO much knowledge! And make sure you read the TTGP blog! it has lots of REALLY REALLY good information annd will keep you from getting flamed for posting a question when there's already an answer! here's a linke! https://forums.thebump.com/categories/getting-pregnant
@Vikingmom806 oh thank goodness lol so good to hear. I just saw it going around fb recently. I still hope I don't need it but it seriously saved me last time.
@mapchick77 I got teary eyed during bar rescue. I hate that show hahaha
Yeah it's been allllllll over. My heart dropped into my stomach when I saw someone post about it on Twitter, but after looking into it, and seeing it heavily discussed on an HG Facebook group I'm in, I was relieved to discover it's not true. Zofran wasn't the only drug I needed, but without it, my HG treatment would have been far less effective!
I cried this morning over "the amount of stuff I have to do in the next six months". My husbands response: "you're going to cry a lot from now on huh?" YUP!
Hi Everyone! I am due on September 7. This will be my first I had a previous pregnancy a few months ago but it was ectopic. I had an ultrasound last Thursday showing that this one is in the correct place! Cautiously optimistic!
@shimmer475 That made my DH emotional too although we are even more invested in the frigid Packers game tonight.
@Cate3312 I hear ya! For some reason during my first pregnancy I was so happy the entire time. I don't think my DH is going to be that lucky this time around.

Hello! Just got a a BFP this morning, ok 3 BFPs, and I'll probably keep testing until it sinks it.
I jumped on H this morning to see if he saw a second line. Then got the TTGPers to confirm. I tested another wondro strip - 2 lines. So I made H go out in freezing rain to get a digital... because I needed something to say PREGNANT! Yes, I had a crazy moment, he still loves me haha.
EOD - 16 Sept, my first, H's 3rd.
I'm seriously in a twirl wind of emotions right now. Excited, nervous, anxious... my mind is definitely on one track. My only symptoms right now is tired, and I got/am nauseous after eating breakfast/lunch. Oh hello saltines, I hope this isn't the start of a long friendship.
