I wonder if this whole weather nastiness is also making us extra dizzy. I'm down in southern South Carolina and even here they are calling for an 8* wind chill tomorrow. Insane.

Counting down the days until my appointments!!! I meet with a nurse on the 23rd and the doctor on the 27th. Hoping the next couple of weeks go quick. On the 28th is my mother in laws bday so we're going to wrap up the ultrasound for her. What a perfect bday present, huh!?
Does anyone else get wicked dizzy spells? I'm just sitting at my desk and whoaaaaaaaaaaa.
Ugh the dizziness has been my life legit since implantation. It was like "oh nice let me snuggle on in here and boop! Have fun trying to do anything now!"
I work in an office with only 3 of us total (2 designers and office manager). I was originally planning on waiting until my 2nd trimester to tell the designers the news, but now I'm feeling like I want to tell them ASAP.
I'm pretty close with the head designer. I've only been at my job for 5 months, so I'm a bit nervous at their reaction, but every past manager has had a pregnancy during their employment.
I'm feeling the need to share the news right away for a few reasons. One, I hate hiding things. I'm exhausted today with wicked dizzy spells, and they have already both told me that I didn't look so good. Second, I was asked to move something heavy today. I don't think it hurt anything, BUT, I know they wouldn't have asked me to move it if they knew I was 6 weeks pregnant. Third, I want to freakin' talk about my excitement at work!
I know most people wait because there is such a high rate of MC this early in the game. But my thinking is that if I, God forbid, do MC, they would find out anyway. There are only 3 of us. Can't really hide that.
Ideally, I'm planning on becoming a SAHM once baby comes. But, because you never know what can happen between now and then, I will tell them that as of right now I am planning on returning after maternity leave.
What are your thoughts/past experiences?

I'm of the camp that if you would tell them if you MC, then it's ok to tell them now. I personally only told my boss and HR when I had my MC (because I was on a work trip at had to cut it short, to the great expense of my organization), and I really, really wish that I didn't have to tell them. It's just so heartbreakingly personal, and I wish only my family and close friends knew.
@groxb I also work in a small office. Last time around, I told my boss at about 5 weeks. Honestly it was the best thing for me. When I had my loss, it was nice to be able to take the time I needed off from work. I never shared anything with my coworkers though, they just know that I needed time off for medical reasons.
If there are parts of your job that require you to lift heavy things, I'd probably want to tell them too. As far as returning to work goes, "as of right now I plan to return" is a perfectly good answer. They don't need to know anything more than that.
@groxby My opinion is go ahead and tell (I'm waiting til after my first OB appt), but don't tell them your plans to be a SAHM. First, if they know you're leaving, they may start the hiring process to replace you & if that new person happens to want to start sooner than later, you may be out of a job before you were planning on it. Also, your own plans could change. God forbid your spouses financial situation changes and your family is reliant on your income.
If they ask you if you'll be leaving, say your DH and you haven't really discussed it yet since it's still early on.
Good luck! And I'm so excited for you that you get to spill the beans! I'm so impatient!
All this talk about dizziness and morning sickness is making me nervous because I am feeling fine for the most part. I know it's still early and can be totally normal, but after my loss a few months ago, I'm already a bit on edge. :-/
No dizzy spells here yet, but I had them pretty bad second tri last time around!
Who is planning on going Team Green, and who is planning on finding out baby's sex? Who isn't sure yet?
I'm about 90% sure that I'll find out. I did last time.
We will 100% find out! We found out last time and it was honestly one of the BEST moments of my whole pregnancy. It was a special moment and a special day all around.
@LM915 It's so hard not to let those worries get to you. Just remember some women are just lucky enough to have no symptoms. It's also still early & a lot of women don't get symptoms for a few weeks. I saw this earlier today & it made me think a lot about this because I am struggling too:
9/14 due date here! I got my BFP on the 2nd, so I called today and I have an appointment on the 29th. Was offered one on the 21st and didn't think I could swing it, and now I'm kicking myself for not taking it!
Has anyone used furniture from Pottery Barn Kids? I know it's pricey, but I LOVE our other PB pieces, so I feel like I can trust their integrity. The downside: no reviews on their website.

This. I tell everyone that 20 week ultrasound was my favorite pregnancy moment. The look on my DH's face...our excitement...telling our families...all of it was just the best!
Plus, I need to know what kind of cute clothes to buy!
This is my first and we are not finding out the sex of the baby! It is going to be hard not knowing but I feel this will be the best surprise ever once we have him or her!
I'm going to do a bit of a combo with the sex. We are definitely finding out, but for clothing and decorating purposes we're going to try to keep it as neutral as possible. Just so we can reuse if baby #2 is of the opposite sex
Got a question has anyone tried sea bands before for nausea? do they work?
Wearing them right now. The research is debatable, but they seem to take the edge off for me (but nothing drastic). Whether or not it's a placebo effect, I don't care. Haha.
I'm due sep 7th and have a 9.5 month old. I'm terrified of having them this close, but I'm sure my fears will ease. Anyone else having them this close?
vikingmom806 thanks maybe I will just give em a try and see. M/S has kicked in full gear today.
If sea bands and the go-to saltines, ginger ale, and other bland foods don't work, you can also try unisom and vitamin B6 together. Also Powerade can help, it has B6 as well.

Is it sad that I want to be the only person to know but want everyone else to be surprised? LOL! I don't think my SO will be able to hold the secret in though. I am def keeping the name to myself until the birth!

This. Wore them last pregnancy with #2 as well as zofran and I was able to keep things manageable. My nausea didn't completely go away but I was able to eat. I haven't needed them yet but was just thinking about digging them out. Oh, and I LOVE how stylish they are

I'm scared about this, too. I had my first child in August via c-section, three months early. If this baby is full term, on its due date, they'll be 13 months and two days apart. This pregnancy was not planned and a huge surprise haha. Talking with my OB about my concerns, and with my sister whose first two kids are 15 months apart, helped a lot.

We did this with our first and I'm so glad! haha we loved having something just between us until the baby arrived. I think we'll keep the name a secret again this time as well.
I took the test the morning after Christmas while my hubby was still asleep. I quickly wrapped it, stuck it under the tree, and woke him up. I told him that Santa forgot one present. We've been trying for awhile, so he was really excited

I'm finding out sex! With my interior design background, the more information the better for decorating the nursery.

As for symptoms, I feel worse so far this time around than I did when I was pregnant with twins. Every pregnancy is different! Enjoy it while you can!
