Can I ask when you're all planning to tell people?
I told my immediate family and 2 bffs but unsure when to say something in general. I was planning maybe early Feb? Not sure...
We told our parents as soon as we took a test at the doctor (the afternoon we found out.) We told our sisters last week, and a few good friends on NYE because I wasn't drinking. I gave them a bottle with a tag that said "Drink this for me! I'm a mommy to be!" We will tell everyone else with a Valentine's Day announcement card when I'm 11 weeks.
I want to keep the name a secret, too. I wanted to last time, but my DH thought it was rude?? He changed his tune when several of HIS friends said next pregnancy they are totally keeping it a secret. Maybe I can convince him to this time.
My one symptom right now is the heightened sense of smell. It's horrible, and I feel like it's going to end up leading to Morning Sickness. We went grocery shopping today, so I stocked up on things to help with it. (Ginger Ale, crackers, pickles, etc.)

Anyone else having weird symptoms?
I have had the weirdest dreams at night, then headaches when I wake up every morning. I also have had a lot of cramps.
I've had the weird dreams! Last night was about Godzilla. Also slight cramping, nausea, and an intense craving for barbecue! EDD Sept 2 and first appointment is tomorrow at 10am

I'm also due 9/2, but I have to wait until 1/27 for my first appointment with the nurse and 2/7 for my first appointment with the doctor. I'm going crazy with anticipation. Hope yours goes well!
Hey all! Our EDD is September 6th with our first! I had a question about morning sickness... I keep hearing that being sick is a sign of a healthy pregnancy and it worries me by I've only felt Neasus once. The only symptoms I have are sore boobs and I was tired but today it seemed I had all my energy back. Is this normal for mid 5 week stage? Thanks!
Hey more experienced moms! I have a dumb question. This is my first pregnancy, and I have my first u/s when I am 6 weeks and 4 days. ( next Monday) any way, I'm just super nervous and would reeaaalllllyyyy like to see a heart beat. Is it possible? I've read conflicting comments about it.

You can generally see a heartbeat around 6 weeks. With my first, we saw the heartbeat at just under 6 weeks.

It's totally normal for symptoms to come and go. Some people are lucky and don't get many symptoms at all. I understand being nervous though. I haven't had many symptoms and while I know that can be normal (and it's still early), it still makes me a little nervous. Pregnancy is stressful sometimes!
Hello. This is my first post on a message board in thebump.
My EDD is 9/11/14. This is my second pregnancy- the first one ended in a miscarriage and a D&C in August at 10 weeks. I'm so scared that this one will end too that I am missing out on the excitement I felt the first time. Anyone else relate?
This is my first as well and I am the same as you.... Sore boobs off and on. Other than that I feel pretty good. And by the way. We are due date twins :-)
Team finding out here! We have two girls so of course we're hoping for a boy! I think if we had one of each we'd wait to find out. We will be keeping the name a secret until birth though!
Physically, I feel fine. Not tired at work at all (and I'm a teacher!), frequent trips to the bathroom - annoying! No nausea. I didn't have any symptoms with the first pregnancy either and that makes me even more freaked out! We decided against telling people this time - but that means I have no one to talk to.

I have had two losses this year I had a d&c in July and a natural loss in October. I'm terrified that this will have the same outcome. I know I'm not the only after loss lady due in September. You can also check out PGAL pregnant after a loss
Thank you so much for the guidance. I never knew what to look up to find others like us.
My lmp gives me a due date of Sept 3rd but I didn't O until cycle day 17 so I think it will be a few days later when I actually have an OB appointment.

Yes, I can relate. I had a MC in August and am feeling rather nervous about this pregnancy. Trying to stay optimistic. It's sad that it has taken away some of the pregnancy joy.
Definitely relating to you guys. We've had multiple losses (which is why we had our confirmation appointment last week and have our "first official" appointment tomorrow). It's hard to get excited whenever you are scared it will be snatched away from you. Praying for sticky babies for all of us
Since we already have due dates listed through half the month now, would anyone be opposed to me grabbing everyone's due dates from this thread and starting to compile them in a spreadsheet? My last BMB had one and it helped keep track of where everyone was at and was super helpful for people who used mobile bump or didn't put a ticker in their siggy. We could get it to whoever our mod is once the board is up. A link to our spreadsheet was in a sticky post at the top of our board.

Is anyone else living in tight quarters and trying to figure out where all of LO's stuff will go? DH and I live in a one-bedroom apartment and have no ability to move until babymin will be about 1 year old... Yikes. Still so excited (and nervous)!!

I like having something with the dates pinned at the top of the board (once we GET one). I was very active on the knot/nest and we kept track of dates that way. Then when babies are born we can track actual delivery dates. I gotta say props to whoever ends up as mod... Tough job.
Looking forward to getting to know you ladies! Im still uner close to girls from my first wedding month board 6 yrs later.
Might be easier to do a separate thread once we get the board and have everyone post just their date once we get over there and see who all ends up migrating there.
That's probably true. I did already start because I'm lame and have no life outside of singing Itsy Bitsy Spider right now, though haha. Like I said earlier, I need a hobby. We can always get a separate thread going when the board is up, too...if it ever gets put up.
@Smallllmin We are in a small 600 sq foot 1.5 bedroom (DS room is 7x9, not a true bedroom). You will make it work. I mean most people keep LO in their room the first few months anyway. After that, you might end up cosleeping because it's really hard to get LO to sleep in your room in a separate bed. They know you are there. IMO they sleep much better either with in bed with you, or in a different room. You will share your living room with all the toys and it will be fine. DS has a crib and tons of toys but all his clothes are in my dresser, always have been. His high chair is one of the mini kinds that strap on to a regular chair. Most of the big toys we got rid of as soon as he outgrew them (swing, jumperoo, etc). You will do great.
Sad...I just learned I can't comment from my Surface sorry for the quote w/o comment!
According to my LMP, EDD is 9/2/14. My first OB appt is Jan 21.
Just curious when everyone announced / plans to announce to family, friends, co-workers, etc? We're planning on telling family after our OB appt and everyone else after 12 weeks...thoughts?
We lived in a one bedroom for a year with DS. You just need to simplify as much as possible now, see if a family member can store book cases or any unneeded furniture. We managed to fit our crib in our bed room, and then had his dresser and changing table in the dining room and moved the dining room table closer in the living room. We had a strange L shaped living/dining room set up so it worked.
I'm due 09/06/14 based on my LMP, but 09/02/14 based on the day I ovulated. I am 31 and had a miscarriage last year in February.. This will be our first baby, so we are beyond thrilled. I found out on Christmas Eve.
Hello Fellow 1stie! I am pregnant with our first too! We had a miscarriage last year in February, but we are hopeful that this baby is here to stay I am interested in learning what birthing methods other 1sties are considering. I am a proponent of natural birthing methods (meaning no drugs and no interventions unless necessary) and have been researching birth methods for 5 years- back when my biological clock started ticking with a heavy thud. I am not against the use of drugs, I just want to go into my birthing experience with the I-can-do-this mentality and not the X-on-my-back-in-red-permanent-marker-with-the-words-epidural?-yes-please mentality.. I do believe every birthing experience is different, and I know that doing it the pure and natural way isn't for everyone.
