  • @kari5186 thanks! When we built it I insisted on a red door. It's pretty but also apparently good feng shui!

Lol, yep. We're on fire today!! The end of the games are always where we shine.

In response to other posts, I hope all the sick babies get better soon! @nykkolaughs - you certainly don't suck at moming!! Take it from another FTM, it's tough but we figure it out as we go. Ella looks like the happiest baby in the world, so you are def doing something right :)

Is there a way to sweep the water away so that its not a big puddle?

There no where for it to go. The snow is melting and running down our driveway. The foot of our driveway never got properly cleared by the plots, so what was left there is also melting. I'm guessing all the catch basins on our street are covered with snow. I don't eve remember where they are.

  • I'm sitting in our accountant's office. Bless you accountant type people. I'm about to doze off listening to the new 2014 changes. Just take my paperwork and tell me how much I owe.

+1 tomorrow morning at 11:45. I've printed out my spreadsheets and forms and I wash my hands of the process!

  • So, been laying with LO for an hour while she sleeps with my boob in her mouth and she finally unlatches and rolls away from me. I decide to wait 5 minutes so she gets into deeper sleep before rolling away. She relatches 3 min later... Unlatches a few min after that... I wait 5 min... As soon as I am off the bed, she wakes up crying.

And rewind to earlier today... Nap time. Same type of situation but I fell asleep with her. I woke up and was off the bed for a few minutes watching her sleep peacefully. I rolled like a ninja across the room so I wouldn't creak any floor boards and as soon as my toe touched the top step to go downstairs, she woke up crying.

    HOW DOES SHE KNOW?!

  • DH is passed out-he works 3rd shift, has off tonight, and decided to stay up with us during the day instead of napping-so I just gave J a bath, frida-ed her nose and wiped some Vicks on her...you think I was killing her. He slept through her crying the entire time I was doing this on the bed. I'm having a big glass of wine now.

Ugh, being a ftm with a baby who has a fever for the first time SUCKS!! I know you all know this, but it's so hard having him so uncomfortable and there being so little I can do about it. Boo!

Eta: I don't think I used the word "so" enough. So so so so so!

My LO has his first fever too and 4 top teeth coming at once! Two just barely broke through he's hurting so bad it's really breaking my heart. I will be up all night rocking/nursing him.

  • Work and Grayson have kept me busy today but I managed to read all the words!! Grayson fought sleep for over 2 hours and wouldn't go to sleep for anyone but me. This is going to be fun when I'm working until 10. Hopefully he'll adjust quickly to me not being with him 24/7. It broke my heart today when all he wanted was me but I couldn't hold him because I had things I needed to get done :( but it's also been a busy week for Grayson. 2 top teeth are in and 2 on bottom aren't far behind and he said momma and dada and he's walking along all the furniture now. He's 8 months old today and wearing a 12 month sleeper to bed. Where has the time gone??

  • DD woke up with a fever and it took over an hour to get her back down. I'm wide awake because my DH is hogging the bed and I just can't get comfortable. He works 3rd shift so I sleep alone most nights and when he is home, he completely takes over the bed. Also, Dd's latch has been terrible and my boob is killing me. I just want to sleep!

  • I'm right there with you @dmlk413. Lo's fever has kept him waking up a lot and the only place he seems to want to sleep is on me in the glider. Poor little guy, I know he doesn't feel well, but I think I've been in my bed for maybe an hour total tonight. Tomorrow is going to be hard.
Oh, and DH isn't a bed hog, but he snores really loud. It feels like he's taunting me with how great he is sleeping as I rock LO back to sleep again.

On a totally unrelated note, is the 413 in your sn an area code?

  • @gigglejiggle, he is adorable and it looks like he's feeling better.
Also thank you soooooo much we got Grayson's adorable little shoes in yesterday. I'll post a picture of him wearing them when he starts feeling better and we finally get out of Jammies. Ahhh all the poor sick babies :((

  • @cricket81 and @dmlk413, can I join your party of the stoopid sleeping husbands and feverish babies. LO has been only sleeping on me while I'm rocking him he normally goes to bed at 8 and was up every 30 min until 12:30. I went and bought children's Motrin and he finally slept 3.5 hours in his crib. Tylenol wasn't cutting it so if you guys haven't try it go get you some!
As for my husband he's officially pissed me off snoring through our screaming sick baby's wake ups and stealing all the covers :-q
    image
  • @cricket81 I'm sorry you're not sleeping either! These poor LOs.

The 413 is actually a date (April 13).

  • @HeartLikeMine3 I'll have to try the Motrin. I gave her Tylenol but I don't think it did much.

It seems like all the babies and husbands are plotting against us!

  • @michabush, totally agree the bottom ones weren't that bad. My LO is cutting 4 top teeth at once and he is miserable we finally got a couple hours of sleep after trying Motrin.

  • 3 sick kids and now my husband has a fever. So. Much. Whining. I may not make it through the weekend.
  • Has anyone ever noticed LO being extra gassy after having ibuprophen? So much farting and I don't know if it's a symptom of his bug or a side effect of the meds.

  • Another night time ER trip. Migraine this time. I've never thrown up so much :(@kelly422 did you work at MCOW when you lived here? They are outstanding!
Hope you're feeling better!  I worked at the Children's ER there, but never the adult one.  I was, however, a patient there a few times with kidney stones! :)
