  • @Stace0616‌ It is so hard to have a newborn. I'm glad you can put the baby down and walk away for a minute, but be sure to give yourself more than a minute too. Put on your oxygen mask before helping others, right? I hope things get better for you soon.
  • @pineconey I love that you loved my post. Thanks lady. How'd your day with LO go?

PS I'll be in Spokompton from 8/16-8/30. That's only 2 hours away from the Tri Shities...ahem, Tri Cities (old habits die hard)!

  • My milk factory production is way down today. Poor little guy has been beating my breasts in frustration. Had to pull from our fridge stash that we usually only use at night (about 3 feedings worth- DH feeds DS a bottle while I pump so the night feeding goes faster) or when we go "out" unexpectedly and there's a potential for not being able to properly nurse.

Thinking I'm dehydrated? Not doing anything else differently that I can think of...

  • @pineconey‌ - could def be dehydration. I think you mentioned your period too? Sometimes women see a supply dip then too.

My period was apparently a fake-out. Must have been more pp bleeding- 2 weeks after I stopped bleeding. But it ended up not being much overall. A bit of bright red in the morning, then brown blood later.

  • After a day full of puking and pooping and fussing and nipple chomping and nap protests, DD fell asleep within 30 seconds of me putting her in her swing. Which she has hated for the last 2 weeks. Which I only put her in so I could pee and get some water and stop pulling my hair out for five minutes.

Ummmmmmmm you're fucking nuts! I laughed and said, you're welcome to walk away we aren't moving.

    WTAF?!

    Oh hi RTT :-h

Must have been a pretty important call if it was in Target...

Like he was just standing there while his teen daughter tried on shoes he could have easily walked away, such a douche!

  • @MrsStanton87‌ we're also supposedly in the middle of the 2nd leap, and DS is like a different baby (in a good way!). He was very fussy and always crying before, but for the last few days he's really settled down. He's easier to soothe and has been much more smiley. He does seem more interested in his surroundings too.

Cross your fingers!  We leave tomorrow for a weekend in North Carolina where DH will be DS' primary caregiver and I will just stop in every couple hours to provide a boob.  I have a feeling DH will need some relief at the end of the day, so I'm bringing some of his favorite beers along.

  • OMG - life changing discovery! Switched the swing to go forward and backward instead of side to side. He likes it now! I got 2 loads of laundry folded.

I feel so stupid I didn't try that before, but his brother was such side to side man, it never occurred to me.

What swing do you have and HOW did you do that?

  • I'm having a rough last few days at home. I'm pretty sure Aiden's reflux still isn't under control because my boob = shrieking baby, so I'm not even enjoying the last few daytime nursing sessions I get to have with him. Plus, I feel like he's not eating enough since he's hungry practically all the time, and he's miserable, so I'm not really enjoying him like I want to. I've ugly cried way more than I care to admit in the past few days.

I don't think DH really gets it, which makes it even harder.

  • Holy shit, my mom just pissed me off hardcore. She asked me if I'd bonded with my baby yet, and when I said honestly that I didn't know she got upset. "You have a beautiful daughter and she's sick in the hospital. Why haven't you bonded with her?"

How the fuck should I know?! I don't know if my hormones are fucking the dog or what, but the NP I saw at my 6-week appointment doubled the dose of my antidepressant, so I probably have PPD even if she didn't specifically say I did. Ya think maybe that would play a role, mom?? Don't get all pissy with me and hang up in the middle of a Skype call because I said I sometimes feel like I'm taking care of somebody else's kid. How is that going to help anything? All you did was add stress to an already stressful situation. Thanks a fucking lot! X(

Same discovery was made here today! Side to side; she'll tolerate, but backwards and forwards; magical sleep.

Has that same ah ha moment last week!! What's better is that he changes moods based on which way he is facing with back an forth too! I have 3 options to make him happy and one always works!

  • I've been a bit MIA this week. Leap 2 is in full swing and I am so mentally exhausted. I realized just now that I've only had like 1 glass of water today because I've had my hands full with little girl. My head is pounding!!

I'm so down for our group drink tomorrow.... Going to pump a few times so I can have a full feeding ready for DH tomorrow. (I get like 1oz at each pump session)

Also, I'm binge watching orange is the new black tomorrow. Can't freaking wait.

Sooo how bad is the second leap? Super worried about my drive back up home on Sunday and DS is about to start leap 2 tomorrow.
    Be honest!

Its been the hardest 3 days for me since she was born (solely from a newborn perspective not including other kid). She started her leap right on target 3 days ago. I cried multiple times the second day. I am handling it today. Just needed a touching break since she wants to be held nonstop. I am a personal space kinda person so not being able to put her down to shower and eat was hard on me. Might not be as hard on someone else. Hasn't affected her nighttime sleeping :) but no real naps are happening just little cat naps. But as they say, every child (and parent) are different.

This exactly. DD is not a touchy baby but all of a sudden will not stop fussing until you are touching her. And she's eating every two hours during the day. But her nighttime sleeping has gotten way better. Like 6 hours at a time better!

  • @PoppySeedWindsor‌ I won't tell if you start drinking after lunch. That's what maternity leave is for, no?

  • @BiggerinRealLife‌ Your nursery is gorgeous! Congrats on getting the floors in-you must feel so relieved.

@MadBloom‌ Enjoy your drink and OITNB viewing tomorrow. Sounds like you could use a strong drink! And some water too.
  • @Eireyes ‌ I apologize if I missed the back story but was your LO diagnosed with reflux? I'm like 100% sure my LO has silent reflux and am hoping we can do something to help him. His 2 month pedi visit is next week so I'll be talking to his dr., but my poor little man seems miserable. Lots of gulping during feeds, arching his back, screaming, etc.
