@spano41 Yes you can make pear pie and its so good! We had a cooking pear tree and pear pies were my favorite growing up. Its similar to an apple pie but my mom wasn't as heavy handed with the spices because they take over the pear. I'm sure there are some good ones online.
Okay so I've had zero complaints this whole pregnancy, I've been super lucky. But for the last two days my upper back (just below my shoulder blades) has been fucking KILLING ME. I'm about to stab someone, I can't sit or stand or lay down comfortably.
Does anyone know what's safe to take for aches and pains? Will Tylenol work? I've cracked my back, I got a massage...nothing is working. BOOHISS
Tylenol is fine. I get this pain too. I do two tylenol and some heat. I can get it to a dull ache with that. Never really goes away though :-(

I take Tylenol but I also love the rub on numbing cream "tiger balm". It's the only thing that numbs and relaxes enough to help me get some sleep.
Dani - That's actually the only kind of back pain I've had almost this entire pregnancy. It doesn't hurt in my lower back, but my upper back kills me!!! Tylenol seems to help, so it might be worth a shot! I feel like sleeping on my side throws my back off, so I stretch and crack my back as soon as I wake up, but it usually hurts again by that night. Maybe a bath or a heating pad would help for some temporary relief? Sorry you're in pain
@dani+california I was going to suggest a heating pad as well. I had bad back pain in the same location a few weeks ago and a heating pad and hot bath with Epsom salt was my savior!
Yea. Totally agree with the water thing. I'm convinced most muscle pains are HUGELY eased by water. Even a hot shower is good if you don't have a bath. Just don't put tiger balm on before a shower or bath. BAAAAAAD idea.
I am super jealous of all the people that have everything done for their baby's arrival. As much as I want my baby, he needs to stay in there until his DD so I can have everything ready for him.
Also I'm really annoyed about not everything being done. It's not like I'm lazy, it's just that I have D, E, & F to be done, but can't start on them until A, B, & C are done, none of which are in my hands/control. Future mother exercise in patience I suppose, but it's driving me batty and making me want to TP someone.

Holy fuck. I've had that same pain!!!! It finally is going away tonight. Hopefully relief will be yours soon.
Haha sounds painful! I hate baths but if this doesn't do the trick, I'll try anything! Thanks
If you hate baths, showers do work also. Its especially good for this part of the back because its easy to get the water to beat down directly on it. (My upper back is a mess when I'm not pregnant as well. I do all of this, but normally, I also down advil or if its really bad, tylenol with codeine and advil. I'm guessing the first time I have to do this again the combo is going to knock my boots off!)
I've been working since I was 15, I am now 28 years old. Is it weird that I feel a little scared, maybe sad even that I won't be working for a while due to maternity leave? This is my first baby, and previous to that, the most I left work was a two week vacation.
@dani+california
A foam roller could help. Now that your pregnant it's easier to use leaning on it against a wall instead of the floor so you don't compromise your abs and give yourself a hernia. I have mid back pain, and when I've used mind my back pops something crazy, and I get a little relief.

Not weird at all! I've been working as a harpist since 11 (at least, that's when I first starting getting paid for it.) Like you, at most I took two weeks off. I'm 34 now!? I had an ugly cry break down my last day of work because I wasn't sure how to handle this! I think its normal :-)
Just saw a commercial and kids were getting on the bus they were so small! I started to get anxiety.. Do we really have to go through these things!? He's not even out yet an I don't want to watch him leave on a bus!! (
I'm the opposite lol! I'm already thinking "Five years til she goes to school." "Eighteen years til she's out of the house." But my favorite: "Twelve more years and I never have to wash dishes again."
Psh a ten year old is more than capable of washing dishes. Don't short change yourself.
We designated a drawer for all of DD's kid dishes putting her own clean dishes away is totally a thing at 4.
At 3 1/2 DD puts her dishes in the dishwasher, puts her own clothes in the washer and mops. Mopping I wouldn't have given her, but she begged for it to be her chore. They really do like responsibility.

I'm the exact same way! I will have a really hard time not checking my emails while I'm gone for 6 weeks. It seems strange but my work is so much of my life and always has been, so it'll take some adjusting.
It is for me as well. It's literally half of my life. It doesn't help that I work with my cousin, who is also my boss. Sad to say but I spend more time with him that I do with my own husband. I know I will adjust, but the thought of it....oy! lol
@knotty-girl
I feel ya. I feel like I can't really do anything substantial for this LO until our master bedroom gets split and DS's new big boy room is semi-set up. Hopefully that will happen at the beginning of April. Nothing like waiting til the last minute DH ::eye roll::
THEN I can figure out where the PNP will go, get the swing set up in the nursery again, pull out the baby clothes, pull out the bouncy chair, etc.

Seriously, it's the worst.
They finally finished our garage renovations, but we discovered our raw wood floors inside our home aren't practical (every crumb dropped leaves an immediate oil mark that absorbs before you can wipe it.). No one told us that there was the option of doing a matte finish that would protect them without compromising the look. So now we have chosen to do that, but it means we essentially have to move our entire house (furniture) into the garage for two days, then move it back in and there will be more frickin' dust to deal with. Once this is all done I have to clean and reorganize the house and only THEN can I complete the nursery. Because the garage wasn't done we had to wait before getting to this step, which starts tomorrow. I feel like it's too close to be dealing with this kind of crap, but when else are we going to do this, after the baby comes?
Food posts makes me mental (with older babies, and real food). Someone's pedi told them "sometimes you'll have to make them do things they don't want to do, like eat, because you're the mom".
FAIL. You can't force feed a freaking 9 month old, asshole. It's not the same as forcing them to do their homework, or forcing them to wear a hat in the winter for fucks sake.
This would so piss me off! Part of the reason I love BLW is that it give the baby the chance to explore food on their own terms. I think this makes a huge difference. DS has a couple of foods he doesn't care for, but he is not picky and never has been.
Not to mention, they recommend that you let your child decide when they are full, that way they learn to listen to their bodies signals and are more likely to maintain a healthy weight as they get older.

I am finally done with everything I wanted to do before baby comes. I figured out my Beco baby carrier, figured out my new breast pump, got my apartment cleaned, got all the laundry done etc. I feel freaked out like opps I just gave him permission to come!

Awww thanks! I felt like it would never all come together.
I am going to AW for a bit since my interwebs was not working on HDBD taken at 32w 4d (wed). I have made it past a little milestone, my mom went into labor with me at about 32w5d and we were all worried I wouldn't make it.

@Serenla my mom had her first around 22 weeks, and her second around 31. So I know the feeling of accomplishment and the worry that comes before it! Keep baking that LO! In this case it's great that we aren't like our mothers
Apparently living in a "family friendly" apartment complex as the weather warms up means dealing with screaming 6 year olds on bikes with training wheels flying down the sidewalk. Sometimes I feel like I just hate everyone. I need to live on an island in the middle of nowhere....

Sleeping babies are totally entertaining. I often put DS to sleep in the boppy next to me, unswaddled, and his little arms would fly up into the air. He looked like he was conducting music. Both would fly up, and then sloooooooooowly fall back down, and then fly up again.
This is truth, as evidenced by my crazy DD:

I agree with your sentiments about island life, but trust me, screaming children is so much better than noise pollution of belching, hocking loogies, domestic disputes, cursing, and gross overuse of the word homes (as in homie).

Whenever she gets summoned in here she pops up with her own colorful thread. She doesn't like to share the attention!

DH accidentally bought me a cake.
DH is taking me out for a big steak and bananas foster I'm so excited!!
Got dressed did hair and makeup, I'm feeling pretty for the first time in a while ;;)
No don't tell me that! I keep hoping I'm in the minority that don't get them. But I have 6 weeks to go, so it's not safe to say I am!
