What am I going to need in my hospital bag ither than 3 sets or so of comfy clothes, phone charger, toiletries and baby's take home out fit. Am I totally clueless here??
So our next phase of dog training for baby is to wrap a doll up in a blanket and do baby things like rocking, walking, talking, singing, etc. so the dog can see those activities and start to get used to them. It's like I'm 5 again. Except we'll be using an app for baby crying/cooing sounds.

We had DD's third birthday party today. I am so exhausted & annoyed that everyone talked about how I look like I'm going to pop. Otherwise, it was fun. DD had a wonderful time; it's the best feeling to see her so happy and excited.

My parents got us a doll to do this with to. I've been putting it off. Because most likely I'll set it down on the table and walk away lol
For the first time this pregnancy, when I text DH and told him I was craving ice cream he called and asked what kind. . Apparently we should have sexy time every morning bc then he buys me things. Haha!
@Ashleypixie We are only doing it because our dog does not have a good history with kids. He is fearful of them and acts out aggressively. We've been working with a personal dog trainer on this issue so that's why we are going all out on baby prep for the dog. I think most people with pets do some more minor preparations like bring the baby hat or baby blanket home from the hospital in advance so the dog can smell it. Also, setting up baby items and letting dog sniff them.

So awesome that y'all are being proactive and working with him etc.. I would be so worried though! Ah! I feel like I would be so nervous that I was doing the training etc wrong and he would act out anyway that I would make the poor dog's nerves worse. I love other people's pets but this is one reason why I'm kinda glad I'm too allergic to live with the fur babies. It's not the animal's fault at all if you (read: me) are crap at training and consistency. X_X
Sorry, that wasn't very helpful. Quick, @kendracoleslaw to the rescue with words of sage puppy wisdom and encouragement!

TBH I am very nervous even though we are doing what we can for training. I really think the dog will be ok until the baby is mobile. Then we'll have to do additional training. If the dog doesn't do well with the baby, then we have considered friends or family that may be willing to take the dog. It's a tough situation.

That is a tough one FX your dog will respond swimmingly to training and will adore your baby and not have to consider those other options!
Thanks @BIRL! Letting go is not my strong point, I tend to dwell and stay butthurt longer than one normally should.
Tomorrow is my shower and I'm le nervous...I don't like the idea of people watching me open presents! Akwardddd. I'm still looking forward to spending time with friends though. Hope everyone had a great Saturday!
Enjoy your shower! I'm sure it will be fabulous! As long as you enlist the right helpers to write down gifts and grab the stuff you just opened and handle organizing it/putting it back in the bag/tossing wrapper trash, you can get the awkward present opening done fairly quickly.
Found the cutest little bathing suits for my neices and nephews today. Couponed the shit at BRU and got them super cheap!
DH was so embarrassed when I got excited at the register....he has no idea what's about to hit him....
What are these great coupons you used? Now that my showers are over I will be buying the necessities that I didn't receive. I want to make sure I get good deals!

@LoriMc12 I had a $10 off a $50 clothing purchase. (There are two boys and three girls with birthdays all around the same time so we got it all at once). Plus I had a $10 rewards coupon. They all came together. I use that rewards card every time I'm in there so every month they send me a coupon off. The bathing suits were 25% off, that's why I originally went there. I think it was $50 for three girl's suits, two sets of trunks and shirts for the boys, and sun hats for everyone.
Last night I did the target deal and got a whole case of diapers for free. They had a code to get 5% off you could text for, a 5% off on the cartwheel app, and buy two boxes get a $15 gift card. The cashier couldn't figure out the gift card so she just rang in $15 of coupons to off set it. You could get the extra 5% off with the red card but we don't have one and didn't have time to set it up. That was my first time using the cartwheel app and it was super easy.
I can coupon the crap out of baby stuff. I just wish I was a little better at doing that for groceries....I'm not as organized there.
Well crap. I have two dogs and two cats, I never thought about how they'd do with a baby
In general they don't seem to be bothered much. At least that was the case with ours. They were curious at first, but for the most part they keep their distance. One of our cats did like to follow us around wherever the baby went just to keep an eye on her, which was pretty cute. Unless they already have behavioral issues I don't think you need to worry much. Introducing baby's scent to the dogs via a blanket or something similar is a good way to introduce the idea of a new person in the house.

I'm worried about our cat jumping in the crib or pack and play. We have been trying to 'train' him not to but cats are not very trainable....especially ours. I guess we are going to have to lock him out of our room at night which does not go over well and he cries outside our door until we let him back in. We should start getting him used to it now but I'm not looking forward to it.

He may not necessarily do it when the baby is in the crib or bassinet. Our cats loved to jump/sleep in the empty bassinet but they never did it when baby was actually in it. I was worried that locking the cats out would make them more curious about the baby's room, so I avoided it. I guess it depends on the cat(s) though.

I have to tell my mom tomorrow that I don't want her in the room while I'm laboring. DH told my friend that he wishes it was just he and I, but that he wanted me to be happy, even if that meant my mom was in the room with us. I asked him tonight if he preferred it was just he and I, and he said yes, that he really wants it to be a special time for the two of us. It really broke my heart that he would sacrifice our special time for my needs. I just feel bad because I told my mom I wanted her with me, but realistically I think she will be too alpha and stress me out. So that should be fun. I am sure she'll just be happy to see him when he's born, and we're still planning on her staying with us to help. Wish me luck ladies, planning on doing this tomorrow :-SS
I did this.. It was giving me anxiety for weeks, it actually wasn't as bad as I thought. I ha a plan of what I "needed" from my mom afterward to let her know she still was needed just not in that capacity, as that was DH role. So she took it well and is owning and excited for her role in helping when we get home.
Good luck. I hope I goes well.

Thank you! What things did you have in mind that you need her for other than being in the room with you? She is coming up from CA (over 500 miles) and she's driving, so it's possible she won't even make it in time. But I think that's a great to have things to still need her for after delivering the bad news.
Mines coming from 1000 miles too so I asked her to come the week DH goes back to work cause I'll need her help and I'll need sleep ect so she's really excited for that and some bonding time with baby.

Oh and I have a question/thought. DH and I talked about him and no more drinking until well after baby is he. I told him tonight is last night, 40 days til edd, anyone else doing this?
No more drinking at all? Or no more drinking to get drunk? I don't see the point of no drinking at all. H typically has a beer after dinner and he is fine to drive afterward and I'm not taking that away from him. Probably ever. But drinking to get drunk those days are over.

We have a big party next week, but, we're both going and I'm not worried. I might gently remind him in a few weeks if he wants to go out and get crazy that its maybe not the wisest idea :-) But, he rarely does this anyway.
Last day before I have outside babies. Just wish DS didn't have baseball at two so I could take him to a movie. I hate that they have it right in the middle of the day.

I don't really see the point in this either. DH enjoys a good beer or whiskey at the end of the day especially with his crazy schedule. He's only been drunk once during my pregnancy when we had some friends over. So I don't see the point in telling him he can't have his nightly drink.
OK random BRU question, I would call the store but they aren't open right now and I' going to be at work all day so just thought maybe one of you knew the answer. Last week I special ordered my Glider and was told that the conversion kit and guard rail for my crib were on back order. Today I get an e-mail saying these items were no longer available. But I already paid for the glider...do you think the items are all just special order items? I was told the conversion kit and guard rail would be able to be special ordered for at least a year since the crib just got discontinued. And I can't imagine paying for an item and then having them say "Oh just kidding, can't have" Ugh just stressed for no reason now, thanks for anyone who has dealt with this before!
Why do my boobs look so good? Then I peed on a stick...
