@karissamonzo I don't think that researching it ahead of time is throwing in the towel at all. There is nothing wrong with more knowledge, whether you are at risk for a preemie or not! 

Speaking from experience, I had NO idea that when I went to the hospital for back pain at 29 weeks that I would be admitted to deliver my DD. Zero idea that I would be having a preemie that day. With everything else going on it was fairly overwhelming at first, and I can see how it would have been helpful to have a basic idea of what NICU time is like rather than trying to untangle the mass of emotions and information all at once. 

I probably would not recommend researching every little thing that might go wrong or every little complication that a preemie might have just because (as with Dr. Google) you will scare yourself sick over things that will likely not happen to your baby. I mean that in the same way that I would suggest that a pregnant woman does not research every little complication that might happen with a pregnancy. I DO think it would be a great idea to research enough that you are familiar with the NICU itself. Lurking on the preemie forum might help a little bit too, if you're curious. 

You can always PM me if you have questions. We were in NICU for 67 days with DD, but the experience was ultimately very positive.

what`s the reason for your high risk?

Shortening Cervix, and in the beginning we found out I have a bicornuate uterus (heart shaped) which put me a slight risk, but after A/S last week and the change in my cervix we're headed to the high risk doctor.  I've known from the start we won't make it to 40 weeks, but had high hopes of at least 36..now who knows.

I'm so excited to eat a bunch of food during thanksgiving. But we are going to PA to have thanksgiving with DH's family. We will be going to two different grandparents houses (his dads parents and his moms parents) I already know I'm going to hate the food DH's moms parents make bc his mother can't cook worth shit. So I'm really hoping his dads parents are better at cooking or my tummy and Baby L will be pissed.

Posting on another thread about recipes just left me feeling down and in the dump. Lost my grandmother in Oct last year. She was my Momma, helped raise my oldest daughter. I think she is the reason I am anxious to put up the Xmas decor, I have many of the pieces she used to decorate with. Loved to sit and help (she'd complain) her decorate her beloved tree...lol

@karissamonzo We'll be celebrating each passing week with you.  I think it's smart to be prepared but don't read too much into the "what ifs".  Talking to others with similar experience will really help!

My 52 year old father is dating a 25 year old girl.  She's 2 years younger than I am.  Barf.  I have to admit I'm going to have a little bit of fun with this.  I hope I can call her mommy soon...or should I just jump to Grandma??  My sister (who is 20) and I just spent an hour facebook stalking this girl.  Apparently I went to school with her, but I have no idea who she is.

Hopefully he gets this out of his system soon.

I have 4 different appts to go to tomorrow! Why did I over schedule us?! DH is getting his long overdue physical and his Tdap booster. I am getting my flu shot and tdap booster (what made me think it was a good idea to do these together? I am a shot wimp and a scardy cat!) Then we have an appointment with our lawyer AND THEN the big A/S! So much hustle and bustle running around and excitement!

If it lasts, call your doctor of course, but I think its normal. Hormone flucuations and anxiety are a bitch! ((((((Hugs))))))

@Mrscrcalli! I'm so sorry! I agree with Katieharpiceland. I know I'm prone to S.A.D. and mild depression associated with it, and have been a sharp lookout for signs knowing I'm at higher risk for pregnancy associated depression. Talk to your doctor if it persists, gets worse, or if you just feel like you can't putt yourself up by your boot straps.

I'm embarrassed to admit this, but I have a tiny bit of a similar color left on my big toes. Its from my wedding in July. At this point, it just makes me laugh. Like I'm going to do something about it after all this time? Yea, right.

LOVE it!! i got married on september 22, 2012 and i had bright green polish on my toes until the very end of feb!!!! i currently have a teeny speck of hot pink from a toe nail painting extravaganza with a 4 year old i know - from july!

Me too!! LOL. Sometimes when I have a long layover while traveling I'll get a pedi and its a bit embarrassing when I get the side eye from the manicurist.

Seriously body? I've felt like I've had to seriously pee for two days straight. But 95% of the time when I go, there's nothing there. I didn't think bladder squish was supposed to start so soon. Anyone? This little one is certainly making their-self known. Makes me think the little trouble maker is a boy. Grrrr.
