hey, ladies.  i'm new here and will start stims with RMANJ on monday.

Was wondering if ya'll have any travel advice for me?  I will be traveling alone and hubby will join me once retrieval is scheduled.  I am having to travel at the last possible minute bc I have kiddos at home, so to break away is a bit difficult.

I'm so nervous bc my last cycle with CCRM I didn't make freezeable blasts.  My kids are all day 3 transfers, so I am a bit nervous doing the CCS testing.

any travel advice is welcomed. Where to stay? Where to fly into?  How long does it take to get from airport to clinic?

My nurse told me I need to be in the office to be monitored no later than 7:30am on monday, may 5th, but that is going to be almost impossible.  I HAVE to leave florida on monday early am and the earliest I get to the airport is 8:50am.  So how long would it take me to get to the clinic at that point?  CCRM let me monitor late in the day on day of travel (like 12 noon)....was so hoping they could be a little flexible :) (or as flexible as they can be).
Hmmm... if it were me, I'd plan to arrive the night before. You can do your monitoring at any of the satellite offices... which airport are you flying into? Feel free to PM me if you'd rather talk specifics "off the grid."

Yes, Basking Ridge is 35 minutes from Newark, but there is always a lot of traffic in NJ during rush hour.

I would stay at the hotel on the same road as the clinic, although it may not be the cheapest option, it is literally within walking distance. Basking Ridge is kind of a suburban area, so I'm not sure how many other hotels there are.

They really only do monitoring from 6am - 7:30. They do have doctors during the day who can do it in an emergency (like when I had OHSS) but I'm not sure how flexible they are.

  • @Musicianlala26‌: I'm praying for you and sorry to hear! My first pregnancy with Rma was like that too and hopefully the embryo is just stubborn! :p

@cls78‌: yay bracelets! How are you!? My hubby won't wear it but he has one....lol he I guess doesn't want to admit we have issues but will sorta talk about it...you know how men can me lol

@kristine2378‌: awwww! Good luck with everything. Two boys! Soo exciting

@fizzachaudhary‌: I'm sorry only 2 were fertilized. Good luck with your next retrieval....but hopefully those 2
will be miracle babies and be healthy twins for you :)

@mamamorg‌: traveling from Newark to basking ridge is pretty direct but 78west (the road you will take) can be filled with traffic....it's one of our major highways in northern jersey. I would suggest coming the night before or asking if you can go to the Morristown office...it's another major highway (24 to 287) but there's a lot of hotels in Morristown & the office is pretty close to some hotels. That's the office I mainly go to, but have gone to BR too. Safe travels coming from FL...I'm actually picking up a close friend of mine who is moving back up to Jersey from FL the next day. Let me know if you need anything :). Good luck

Hey Ladies! Third Beta is in! It more than tripled but we're not out of the woods yet!

    4/21: 38.5
    4/23: 48.9
    4/25: 167!!

Headed in the right direction, hoping that I'm one of the 15% of women who's HCG levels are not the 'Norm' and still end up in a healthy pregnancy and delivery...  First U/S is this wed 4/30 at RMA!

@mamamorg Welcome to the group! I too would suggest that you should most definitely fly out the night before and stay at one of the hotels close by. RMA can recommend hotels there is one right on the main street next to RMA that they will prob suggest to you first.  Their monitoring times are strict 6-7:30a.  I missed my appointment for bloodwork one morning, they called me at 9am and reminded me, I drive an hour each way. I said I"ll hop in the car now, they told me to forget it that they do early hours so that the blood work comes back the same day that I would have to wait to come in for monitoring between 6-7:30am the following day.... this was during my FET cycle  after the transfer I forgot..... and they still wouldn't budge for me so I would highly suggest that you make whatever arrangements you can to get there the night before.

Good Luck! RMA is what I like to call 'The Baby Factory'... sometimes you will find their bedside manner is not always as nice as your OBGYN but they know what they're doing so trust them! Baby dust to you :)

  • Hey Ladies! just wanted to update you again********* BFP Warning*******************

4th beta is in! Went from 167 up to 1348! Still low to their standards but more than doubling in time. We saw the gestational sac but no yolk yet.  Second u/s scheduled for this Sunday I'll be 6weeks. Doc thinks maybe the frozen embryo didn't thaw and take as quickly and I'm measuring a little behind.  Current gestational sac measures in at 4mm :)
