@loveactually4 I guess I should say if he did it one time....an on-going thing I would want to know about

For me, it would depend on the detriment it would have on my relationship.  An affair that my SO was using to get whatever he's lacking in our relationship, I'd want to know.  Because I can't fix something if I don't know it's broken.  But some stupid one night thing fueled by alcohol and horniess (as opposed to emotions), I couldn't really care less to know.  As long as he took care of himself and made sure he doesn't give me anything that he might have contracted from his own stupid decision.  But that's me.

  • I think stores opening on Thanksgiving for Black Friday sales is ridiculous and a slap in the face to employees who have to work on Thanksgiving.  I worked retail for several years and being there at 3am on Friday was enough, I can't imagine being there at 9pm Thanksgiving night or even earlier depending on what time the sale starts. Give the employees who have to work a chance to enjoy their holiday.  I'm an avid Black Friday shopper but I refuse to shop on Thanksgiving.
I agree and I love Black Friday too.  I know that the stores that are opening on Thansgiving say that it will still give the employees to have time for dinner with their families, but I'm sure the employees have to get there much earlier than the opening time at 8:00 p.m.
  • If my H had any type of affair with another person, no matter the circumstance, I want to know.

I think for me it isn't that I don't want to know, so much as knowing wouldn't change how I would handle the situation?  I have my own personal beliefs on cheating, so finding out about a one-night stand would not garner much more of a negative reaction out of me than just not knowing to begin with.  Whereas, as I said, with an affair that involves seeking to fill in a hole that is missing in our relationship, I would want to know because that would be a completely different ballgame.  I would be more devestated by an emotional, non-sexual affair than a sexual one-night stand.

  • Internet message board grammar/spelling doesn't equal IRL spelling in businesses in my mind. I thought we were talking about businesses/ads. I certainly don't use proper grammar all the time on the boards and don't expect others to.

Sorry if the comment about the radio ad made anyone feel bad. Not my intent at all. I know this is pages later, but still.

Why is Thanksgiving even a holiday? Are we giving thanks for the diseases the colonists brought over?

Somebody school me. And if it's not tied to that anymore, why does it have to be a Thursday?
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thanksgiving

On December 26, 1941, President Franklin D. Roosevelt signed a joint resolution of Congress changing the national Thanksgiving Day from the last Thursday in November to the fourth Thursday. Two years earlier, Roosevelt had used a presidential proclamation to try to achieve this change, reasoning that earlier celebration of the holiday would give the country an economic boost.

  • I have a real one.   I think police officers should have to follow the same traffic/driving rules when they are not in an emergency situation (i.e. lights not flashing.)

This brought to you by the officer in his police car who regular goes 40-45 through the neighborhood on the way to his house and tailgates me all the time (presumably because I am going exactly or under the speed limit.)  It's a neighborhood heavily populated with children and I fear the day is going to come when he is going to hit one of them.

Police officers go to calls all day long that don't require lights & sirens, but that doesn't mean they don't need to get there quickly. Maybe they should sit in traffic instead of trying to quickly respond to your call. Then you can also complain about how long it took them to get there.
