Hi there 8 weeks FTM!

I heard the April board was kinda crazy and there were a lot of miscarriages like everyday in the beginning so I didn't want to join while all that was happening cause it just made me ultra paranoied. I hate when people have to post about it its like keep it personal between you and your husband that's an emotional thing. Sorry for the rant. Anyway happy to be here with all you gals!

Congratulations and welcome.   Just so you know, we still have losses posted on this board.  There were several posted just on Friday.  The people that post, do so to get support from people who have been there as well as to say goodbye to the ladies they have become friends with.  I hope we don't see anymore, but you never know.

I just think its personal. Why do they need the attention from strangers? If I miscarried I wouldn't even be able to get the emotional courage to come on here afterward and alert everyone.Plus it makes the rest of us uncomfortable wondering of we will loose ours or not

WOW!! I was thinking the same thing!! Being pgal, this is where I got support with my loss since not many people knew and it's helpful to get support from other women especially those who have experienced it!! Glad you said it before I did!

Umm...welcome? One thing that can be really healing in emotional situations, such as a miscarriage, is to have a support system. I would be really sad if someone just left the board and didn't let us know the situation. If you would like to continue to spend time here, I highly recommend rewording (and probably apologizing for) what you said.

It's not about attention from strangers. Some times, people are avid posters as contributors to conversation and they'd be missed. Also, the point of a message board is to have support from people in the same boat as you. No one likes reading about another baby lost, but your ridiculous if you don't know there's a chance it could happen to you. When you join a Baird of first trimester people, it's going to happen....may want to wait until 2nd trimester or find an alternate universe where miscarriage doesn't happen.

No one cares what you think because someone else's miscarriage has zero to do with you. Everyone deals with loss in their own way, you sound horribly insensitive.

I personally did not post my loss back in march because for me it would have just have been a reminder of what happened, but I do know that I also could have used some one to talk to other than dh about it. I don't think its a bad thing. It helps close an unfortunate chapter of life.

Miscarriages happen all the time (speaking from experience). I didn't miscarry until 11 weeks so you just never know. If you don't want to see, hear or know about what can happen then the boards aren't for you! I hope you have a happy healthy pregnancy!

Wow! Definitely not safe for you to be here! I'm PgAL and my loss happened at 13wks. I'm still quite a few weeks from that milestone. Sorry that loss makes you so damn uncomfortable, but it's real, whether you like it or not.

I never posted when I MC'd but seeing many women here who have gone through their own loss gives me a lot of comfort, and being able to talk about my loss helps tremendously. I would never wish it on anyone, but I appreciate the support and understanding from the ladies who have been there.

Most people warn that loss is mentioned in a post- don't look if you want to keep believing its all rainbows and butterflies.

sorry you were attacked on your first post... you did start off by calling us crazy so you have to expect a little negativity after that.

instead of being insulting in response to your post, let me explain why people post about their miscarriages.
1) some ppl are very involved in this board and we sort of "get to know each other" and we update each other on our progress
2) by sharing our experiences (neg and pos) we can learn from each other
3) the only ppl who truly understand how it feels to miscarry are those who've experienced it, and this board has some who can offer sympathy and understanding.
4) I gaurentee that the April board is equal to every other board when it comes to miscarriages (and crazies for that matter) as it is a common occurrence in the first few weeks.

Good luck with your pregnancy and whichever board you choose to hang out on... maybe just try to choose your words more thoughtfully next time.

Nope it's not safe for people like you.  This is so horribly offensive.  You have no idea what you would be going through if you lost your child and you had no one IRL to talk to about it.  I have formed several friendships while on thebump with ladies that have been through what I have and know exactly what I'm feeling.  Thankfully so many of them are on the April board with me and I consider them a huge support.  You however lack any common decency and I hope that no one in your life has experienced loss and had to be the victim of your insensitive, rude comments.

Oh my I was reading your post and when you went on your rant I cringed.. I'll admit to think of a loss is scary it's a real fear we have during our pregnancy. But it takes maturity to realize it happens and no other woman's experience is going to affect what happens to you during your pregnancy. I've been on this board since I found I was pregnant at 4 weeks and I'll soon be 12. I've made connections with people and I sincerely feel and pray for everyone that has come and gone from this board resulting in a loss. You're expecting and if you think this pregnancy is your only obstacle to face with your little one you have a rude awakening coming your way. So welcome but try to think a little more in depth about what you post.

Many women need the support when dealing with a loss. Sometimes it is better to receive support from the strangers rather than friends or family, because maybe the woman was the only one who wanted the child.

I've seen the posts from those who suffer losses and I cannot express how eager those on this board are willing to be there for her and comfort her during her difficult time. The ladies on this board rock and if you want to bash those who are in need, you need to find a different place to express your thoughts, I'm sure there are hundreds of other pregnancy forums who are willing to take someone as ignorant as you.

I miscarried at 9wks and before I left, I shared the shock and grief because it fucking happens and we're adults. I had already gotten to know and enjoy this board rather well in those weeks of ignorant bliss, and occasionally I'll still lurk to be happy for them. You have a few weeks to go before the odds are really in your favor- better hope you don't catch my miscarriage germs! Achoo!

Exactly why do you want to join this board or any pregnancy board??  Pregnancy is a personal and an emotional thing that includes ups AND the downs.  If you can't handle that then keep your pregnancy between you and your SO instead of hanging out on a pregnancy board.
