I just found out the baby stopped growing at 8 weeks. I was supposed to be 11 weeks. I had no signs, no spotting, nothing.
I might need surgery and I'm really scared. If someone dealt with this, can you tell me how it went? Is it better to wait? They'll let me go a week or two. I have a doctor follow up next Friday. Meanwhile, DH has a 3 day business trip scheduled Monday.
I need some hugs. I'd rather not post this on 1st tri.

Just said good bye Sept. 19th (MMC at 12 weeks)
Re: I need hugs (warning: loss mentioned)
That exact thing happened to my neighbor last month. She started bleeding on her own a couple days after she found out. Physically it wasn't bad for her, emotionally, well.......
Creepy you barely know me internet hugs.
Lots of hugs to you.

Coming out of lurkdom to respond...
I'm so, so sorry for your loss. I have had 2 missed miscarriages - no clue that anything was wrong until u/s. I have had a D&C both times as well b/c my body wouldn't "let go" of the pregnancy.
Honestly, I preferred the D&C b/c it meant things were cleared out completely and I felt like at least physically, I could move on. Both times I have gone to a hospital, been put under general anesthesia - the actual surgery takes about 15 minutes. Afterwards, only bleeding and cramping (like AF - one time was really heavy and clots the other time was close to my normal AF).
If you have any other questions please feel free to PM me.
Again, I am so sorry. This makes my heart break for you.

Oh NO!!!!
You can see in my siggy I went thru something similar. A MMC dx at 11 weeks-- baby stopped growing at 9. I opted for the D & C-- I really wanted to be physically finished with carrying a preganancy that was no longer viable.
The D & C was quick -- I recovered at home for a few days and had some strong cramping and bleeding, but my period returned 5 weeks on the nose later and I started to feel better emotionally.
I am so sorry you are going thru this. It's a terrible thing to go thru, but I promise it will get better.

I'm drinking a giant martini and trying to come to terms with it.
To the ladies that shared their stories, thank you. I'm sorry for your losses too. It's so hard to process. One day picking out names...next day figuring out an appt for a D&C. And the worst is I'm scared shitless more than sad. Well, I'm both. I saw that little baby blob and it looked very much like a baby.
Ug. I can so relate to this. The night before I found out about my MMC I was making baby name lists with my H and my mom. I also had no symptoms or bleeding.
Take care of yourself.

I did have the D&C done. I just wanted it over with. I went to the surgery center that morning and the procedure only took about 30 minutes. I had some cramping after it was over, but it wasn't too bad. This was on a Thursday. I stayed home from work that day and Friday and just took it easy. I had some bleeding, but it was pretty much done by the weekend. I didn't really have any cramping after the first day.
Again, I'm so sorry. I know how painful it is.
First off, Iam so sorry to hear about your loss.
My second PG ended the same way. I found out at almost 11 wks that the baby had stopped growing at 8 wks 4 days. I had no bleeding, spotting, or cramping at all. I chose to let my body do the work, and miscarry naturally. I guess part of me still had hope that my actual dr. would be able to find a HB and everything would be great. I got in to see my regular Dr. within a few days, and the outcome was the same. I again chose to let my body do the work. 1 month later, nothing happened, so I went to the doc, took the pill, and it was over.
I really wish I would have just opted for the surgery.

I had a D&C shortly thereafter, because I wasn't showing any signs of miscarrying on my own.
I am so sorry.

I am so sorry for your loss.
I opted for D&C each time. I just wanted it to be over. Physically, it wasn't bad. A little crampy and tired. It was very tough emotionally until it was over and I was home on my couch. It was still upsetting obviously, but it got easier knowing I was in the recovery portion of the process.
