Krystyna was apparently #1954 but Kristina was #87. #87 in 2013 is Hazel and #1954 is Kolby. If this website is accurate, I much prefer Krystyna. Not that I couldn't be a Kolby... But I'd never use it.

Shaina was number 782 in 1983. Now 782 is Soraya. Wow, never heard of that name. I like it, but not with my last name, it's too long. But I think it's pretty and exotic sounding.

Now #23 is Amelia, which is fine... Only 7k people named that, though, hmm...

Wait! Michelle in 1986 had around 13k kids named that... in 2012, the name with the closest amount to that was Emily, which is #6.

The proportions are changing and higher ranked names are bestowed on fewer kids, which is something I'm glad of. I always felt too many people had my name.

I was born in 1980. My name didn't drop below the 1000 mark until 1989. In 1989 it was 894. Now it is 121.

Honestly, I think both are nice, classic names - but clearly Laura is now the underused one.
