The year I was born my name was #330. 

#330 now is Tatum

Nadia vs. Tatum--Tatum is super trendy sounding compared to Nadia, which sounds a little exotic, but classic.

In 2012, Addilyn was ranked #696.

Well...my name is "just" a NN, but at least it's spelled right. Can't say that for you, Addilyn.

Nicole vs. Mia- Mia doesn't seem as trendy to me. More of a classic name than Nicole, but I could be wrong.

The year I was born my name was #6.  It is now ranked in the 800s!!  Talk about trendy name that has fallen out of favor!

The #6 name in 2012 was Emily- a nice classic name.

My name was #5 the year I was born. Last year it was Ava. 

I think that Sarah and Ava are similar names. Both classic. They both fell by the wayside for a few generations and then made comebacks.

I'm shocked that my name dropped all the way to #266 in 2012. I still thought Kathryn was pretty popular! Even the more traditional Katherine was only #64 in 2012.

I'm honestly shocked Ashley is still that popular. I thought everyone was sick of that name by 1995.

I'd like to think Emily is a more classic name than Ella. But it does have a lot of the same feminine appeal.

My name (Lisa) was #18 the year I was born. #18 is now Anna. Lisa was super trendy, and every Lisa I know is 30-35 years old. Anna is very classic, and you won't be able to tell exactly how old all the Annas are 30 years from now.

My name, Melissa, was #2 the year I was born.  I've never known that many though.  Now #2 is Emma.  

Now Melissa is #177.  The year I was born, #177 was Stacie (spelled this way).

In 2013, 236 is Adelyn and 19 is Charlotte.

The year I was born Courtney was ranked 43 (and 247 for a boy! didn't realize it was that common for  boy). This year #43 is now Lucy, surprising I think.

I'll play, I have a fun one.  DH and DS1 have the same first name.

In 1976 when DH was born Matthew was #9 and in 2008 when we named DS1 it was #10.  Kinda cool.  

As for me, I'm Lesley and it was #318 for girls in 1983 but if you look at the more common Leslie spelling it was # 67.  Now Lesley isn't even on the charts and Leslie is 263 for 2012.  Which is actually a lot higher than I expected because I literally have never met anyone under, say, 25 named Leslie.

Even though mine was a top 10 name, my name is competing with even-more-popular Jennifer, Kelly, Michelle, and Lisa, which seem SO SO SO "that era" to me.  When I was a kid, only one other kid in my grade had my name.

I looked at Elizabeth for the past 40 years and the lowest it ever ranked was 16; the highest 9. In other words, my name has always been fairly popular.
