I'm getting the feeling that I should stay home today. So far I bruised my leg working out, almost drove past my street on the way home from the gym, got in the shower and couldn't figure out why the water wasn't coming down (spoiler alert: I never turned it on), then proceeded to put conditioner in my hair instead of shampoo. Hoping that caffeine gets me out of this fog!
It's my last week of work before I start my new job next week. I have a caseload of 65 patients and have only told about 5 so far that I am leaving. I also have a ton of documentation to get in before I go since I crammed all my monthly visits into the first two weeks to be nice to my coworkers. It's going to be a long week.
Up & drinking coffee. Got my big girls on the bus & am feeding the littles. Lots of laundry & picking up around the house on our agenda today, super fun stuff!
I found out this morning that at some point over the weekend DS had his way with some magic markers & the hallway wall upstairs :-w so we'll be adding cleaning that up to our to-do list today...
Im up early and already showered. Just finished a cup of coffee. I hear DS stirring and babbling in his crib, so I'll get him up in a few. Today is the start of a new group through EI. A few months ago we did the beach group, which he really seemed to like. Now they're holding a farm group which I think He'll LOVE, bc other kids and farm animals...cant go wrong!
Made it to work without further incident, think the coffee is kicking in. DS has his two year doctor appointment after school.
I really feel for those of you who have hard daycare drop-offs. DS was always fine with it, but it seems like it is worse now that he can talk. "I stay home with Mama? OK!" (He always answers his own questions when he wants something.) I know he loves it once he is there but it makes me feel so bad to have to drag him out of the house as soon as he wakes up.
I had my first dream about The Bump. I won't describe it for you, but trust, it was full of intrigue and drama. Not much on deck for today. Husband is home sick. Looking forward to work being over so I can go home and eat some apple crisp I made last night. Yay fall!
I can't get the ticker to work, but I have two sons:
Tired seems to be a common theme. At the parenting commune can we have a large, dark, cool nap room with beds, hammocks, and mats? And we'll take turns thru the day?
I'm a lurker who's intro'ed before, but, for some reason, I always seem to intro whenever I'm really busy so then I can't keep up.
Today is my first Monday that's actually a Monday in a long time. H and I used to be off Mondays, but we both recently changed schedules so we could have weekends off. It was nice to not have to find a babysitter for Saturday, but weird to take the kids to daycare this morning.
I had about a two week period where I had to live with my parents between leaving ex-H & getting a new place. I was thankful they helped me out, but man it's rough living with your parents again! Esp when you have a kid.
I just found out that my SIL and her daughter moved, and she won't tell anyone where she went. No one has been allowed to see them all summer, either. I have spent the last 15 years forgiving her for a lot of shit, but what she's doing now is just...I don't even know.
Please to help me dress myself for family pictures. You guys always seem to recommend super cute clothes, so maybe you can help me out. They're being taken at the beginning of October, so I hope we have some fall foliage going on. I'm putting DS1 in a red and grey wide striped sweater, H will be wearing a dark red half zip sweater thing, I'm getting DS2 a grey half zip sweatshirt from Old Navy.
But now I have nothing. And I don't even have something I could make work. I work from home, so I basically wear soft pants and sweatshirts. I do have a nice pair of skinny jeans, so I guess I'm looking for a top. I'm short, and would like something that covers my midsection. I'm also willing to rethink our entire color palette I find something cute for myself.
Thank you @tyrannosaurusLex! I only chose red because I know the red and grey sweater still fits DS1, and it's pretty much the only "nice" article of clothing he has.
We did blue and white for pictures last year, and they looked great. Maybe I'll try and find us all some new clothes so we're not wearing exactly the same thing. H and I have pretty light skin, but I have very dark hair, and he has medium brown hair. DS1 is blonde and DS2 has brown hair, but very little of it.
Thank you @incogneetoh! They're something I never would have clicked on, but they look like a great basic, which is pretty much exactly what I'm looking for. I'm a terrible shopper.
I look hot in red and I'm pale with dark hair.

Sure, but under flash photography you might look pretty washed out in red. If you're paying a lot for photos it's better to hedge your bets and go with a more forgiving colour.
I feel like I look the best in dark purple (eggplant-like color) and white, but then I'm at a loss with what to do with my kids and H. I don't have too many boy options with that (not being sexist, it's just really hard to find anything). What else goes with purple?
Also I just feel comfortable around him. Like I've never felt that comfortable with someone right away ever. I can say anything, or come home from work not looking my best and IDGAF. It's weird.

Gray would still work for your youngest. A green would go well too, just need to make sure it's the right shade.
I'd do your H and youngest in gray, and maybe your oldest in a teal?
Thinking of maybe doing one of the kids in white and the other one in grey. I have sale codes that expire tomorrow so I'm going to just make a decision and go with it soon!
My mums look horrible! I planted them kind of early, about 3 weeks ago maybe? We have had a ton of rain and sun, it hasn't been very cold....what gives? Maybe if I rip off the dead heads they will regenerate?
DD's BFF was staying with us last week while her parents where out of town. DH and I got a call last night from the Public Health department, they think DD's BFF has that nasty virus, and they are notifying everyone. FML.
I just booked mani-pedis for me and DD1 as a surprise for Wednesday! She has a half day of school so I'm getting out of work early. She has been needing some 1 on 1 Mom time and loves having her nails done so I think she will love this! It will be her first time getting them done for real and not just me painting them at home

Also there is this weird temp in our office, he has been walking around the cubicles (like doing laps) all morning. He occasionally looks around like he is looking for someone but then just keeps walking. I asked if I could help him find something and he said he was fine.
I don't know why I care about this but its almost like clockwork seeing him pass by my cube.

I'm still kinda stressed about CD's daughter situation. I need to just let it go since I probably won't see her again for some time, but "letting things go" has never been my strong suit.

What happened?
I walked in the door, he said, "DD, this is JIT, the friend I told you about." I said hi, and she looked up from her little handheld gaming device (no idea what it was, I was way too nervous), gave me a "okay, the fuck are you talking to me for" look and said nothing. And that was our single interaction for the day.
According to Cute Dad, she was having a rough afternoon and was distracted, and I shouldn't take it personally.
I am taking it personally and am going to worry about it until the next interaction that involves a distinct lack of dislike lol
I'm sorry JIT. Kids suck sometimes. Try not to stress too much. I don't know what else to say because kids suck, and I stress too much about it too.
I really appreciate your insight and sorries. I know you know all about this, since your SD is about the same age as Cute Dad's daughter. I'm extra scurred because she is a major daddy's girl, and he is wrapped around her little finger.
