When I went back to work, and Blake was 3m, he started sleeping through the night. It was amazing. Until about a month ago....he is now up at least twice a night. Right now he has a cough, which I think is part of it, but I'm sooo tired! I told him he couldn't let me remember what sleep was like, and then take it away again!
Is anyone else LO not sleeping through the night? Typically, he will eat and then just go to bed. He's in the 99 percentile for weight so it's not like he needs the food. Plus, he gets half a tub of veggie and cereal around 6p, and then 6oz of milk at 7pm which is bedtime. Suggestions on how to get him to sleep through the night?
Re: Anyone not sleeping through the night?
We haven't slept through the night yet. not once. ever. no matter how much I feed him. He goes to bed at 7:30, up at 12:30, 3:30, and then we have to get up at 5:30. It's killing me, but I also know I have very little time left with him this small. so I take the cuddles and know I will get sleep someday.
Good luck!!!!

If you want your DS to start sleeping through the night then you should look into sleep training. Quite a few moms on this board seem to have had success with both Ferber and Sleepeasy.

DS slept through the night for a few weeks this summer, but then we moved and 4 mo. wakeful hit at the same time. I got into the habit of bringing him in bed with me because he was impossible to get back to sleep.
This weekend he slept from 9-5 for the first time in weeks and I think for us the trick is letting 9 be his natural bedtime.
Sorry it took me so long to respond back. I went to bed at 8:30p last night, and was working all day today and then we went 'trick or treating' to the gmas.
Well I'm glad I'm not alone!! I think it's actually worse that he WAS sleeping through the night and then decided not to do it anymore. lol. I'm not really interested in CIO, so we'll probably just go with the flow, but it's just been hard especially lately. And it's harder now that I'm working 10-12hr days. Oh well. We'll see how it goes. I just felt like we were probably the only ones still dealing with this!
I totally agree (except mine is just since Nov. 2010!) Well actually, DS did drop his MOTN wake-ups in Jan. or Feb., but by that time I was giant and had to pee every hour at night. DD wakes up once or twice to eat. I'm okay with it because it is a vast improvement from 4 or 5 wake-ups, which is what she was doing a month ago! I didn't do anything other than feed her when she was hungry, not jumping up to go get her at the first fuss, and just waiting it out.
indeed she does not STTN!! Ha.
in her six months of life, twice she slept from 830 to 530am. It was magical.
Usually she is up twice a night. It's been much worse and it's been better. If she wakes once I consider that a great night. Last night she went down at 9pm, woke at 10pm whining and such, she seemed to be in pain because even when I picked her up she kept complaining, it was pitiful. So I just lay with her, nipple in the mouth until she fell asleep again. Then she didn't wake until 430 to eat which was amazing!
In a weird way I don't WANT her to STTN because then I feel like she doesn't need me as much anymore. Despite being tired and stuff, I love our MOTN snuggles. Her little wails for food and comforting her is a lovely thing to me, but I would like for it to only happen once a night haha.
E has only slept through the night a handful of times. Still waking up at least twice. I thought for sure she would be STTN by now! She goes down for bed after a long fight of sleep around 8:30, back up at 11pm, then again around 3-4. Im up for work about 5:50am and sometimes she nurses at that time too, which means I have to skip the shower. UGH!
