Sickness has hit the Kiki house. I have a sore throat and P is coughing and has a runny nose. FIL has the flu and MIL has bronchitis. They let SIL (who lives with them) come to church Sunday. If she carried the germs to us, I'm going to be ticked. We both got the flu shot so I'm hoping it's just a cold.
@cshum24 nope. Nikita still has the attitude of a 16yr old at 7. I told her we need to change her earrings before we leave today...normally a loved event... "I'm not in the mood for that mom. No one will care." They are dangle Santa heads...yes...yes they will notice my dear . I was also informed she won't be in the mood later either. :-??
Morning all! I'm jealous of all the snow, we don't ever get much here, but I always like 1 or 2 snow days.
The school and police are putting out a media release about the incident with dd and related incidents. She may have to go back to the police station to help do a sketch. Last night she complained of a sore tummy and headache.....looking into counselling today.
It sounds like so far this guy hasn't really broken any laws.....so I'm not sure what the police can do at this point.....ugh
Nothing much going on here today except to try to keep my butt warm. We got about 3" of snow overnight. Looks like I'll be wearing my Uggs all day in the office today.
$5.99 Is there a favorite barrette for clipping hair out of a face of a toddler that hates anything on her head? There is just one little section of hair that can reach her eye
*************** Feli used to hate hair clips, and has now come to ask for them. Toddlers. We use two; one with decorations (crocodiles /reindeer/whatnot), which she gets to put in, and another one, the "no slippy hair clippy" (here, and yes I cringed at the name). They have plastic coating to make the grip better. Of course, the day after I bought these expensive baubles, I found some at CVS that are also coated with grippy plastic stuff for a fraction of the price. Le sigh.
Speaking about hair accessories... I've got a question for the mamas with boys... do you cut their hair? G has these amazing curls that I just can't part with... but now people are always calling him 'hello little girl!' and even my MIL suggested a haircut but both DH and I love his long curly hair...

@Byjove03 I used to glue foam into my daughter'a clips & I'm pretty sure it hurt to pull them out because she stopped. That, or she just really loved the clips I was making her & wanted to show appreciation. You can get a sheet of foam at a craft store.
Thank you for all the pimento cheese recipe suggestions last night I ended up looking up Paula Deens, but it seemed a little too mayoish for me...so I combined a couple different recipes and asked my husband to get the ingredients on the way home. On his way home, however, the worst case of heart burn set in for me and I couldn't consume anything. Tums did nothing. So, the ingredients are sitting in my fridge, ready to be made today for lunch
I truly hate the DMV. I have been trying to renew my tags online since 8am this morning...and I have been sent back and forth between our County Tax Department and calling the DMV. When I finally worked everything out...and had the ability to do the renewal, the website went down.
@cshum24 my daughter turned 4 in November & is still VERY dramatic- a little better than 3, but holy drama! She's currently mad at me for putting her in comfy sweats. It's snowing & there's no school & she wants to wear a fancy dress.
Coffee, coffee, glorious coffee for all. I am about to pour cup three
I still can't get my kiddo to leave clips in her hair. She has about 10 strands that are coming down in her eyes. It usually works to just sweep them to the side for now.
It's chilly chilly today, but no snow. Somebody with snow wanna build a snowman?
If you all have a few spare thoughts today - there's been a few later term losses on a few of the BMB's. One lady on June 15 is experiencing her second 2nd tri loss in a year - the sac looks like it started to come through the cerclage which was placed because of her first loss. Lady on March 15 went in for a completely routine appointment today (30 weeks) after her shower was held two days ago and they couldn't find a heartbeat.
I just don't understand. It makes me so angry that these women have to have broken hearts when they've done nothing wrong. Shit is so unfair. And some asshat on one of the June 15 boards was like "oh same thing happened to me last year, it's common, you get over it." The fuck is wrong with people.
Oh, no! Any loss or death is tragic, but late pregnancy losses are just the cruelest. No one should have to go through that.
I just started reading, but as a 21.5 week pregnant, the pic in the OP looks fantastic. I'm so hungry right now.
Also, my DVR recorded an old episode of Downton Abbey last night instead of the new one. Grrr. So now I have to wait to watch it until it reruns on the 10th. Lame sauce.
How are you 21.5 weeks already?!?! Time is flying! Halfway there!!! Eek!

@etoille the J15 loss has been on my mind so much. It's totally unfair and heartbreaking.
Perhaps I've already forgotten what it was like around here when we were all in second tri. But there seems to be 10x the number of idiot posters or people who get their panties in a twist on J15 than we ever had on this board. It's maddening. It really makes me appreciate all the ladies on this board!
Well mama and baby are sick in this house. Luckily not too bad, just a sore throat for me so far (but it's early days) and a cough for Keenan. Fingers crossed it doesn't get much worse!
Had an U/S today to check on baby. Everything looks great! She has her face buried in my placenta so they couldn't get a good face shot, but she's still a girl, looks healthy, and measuring 4 lbs, 14 oz. They'll do monitoring starting in 2 weeks with an NST and they'll check fluid levels due to my highish BP, but it's looking good so far!
Remember the coworker who scooped overflowing toilet crap with a cooking pot into his bathtub? He said he took a poll of his friends and family over winter break and more than half of them thought it was normal and that running the pot through the dishwasher would clean it just fine. He said he cooked with said pot a few times over winter break and no one got sick. @-)
Omg no. Just, no. This reminds me of something I saw on Antiques Roadshow one time. This lady brought a set of silver pieces. What she thought was a punch bowl was actually a chamberpot :-&
Threw my back out shoveling. Omg, its pretty bad. I feel like an 80 year old. Trying to get some PT scheduled and took a leftover Csection vicodin. This really sucks.
Re: Spam Salad on Tuesday
Maybe if we can get the elephant to giggle she will wiggle down the slide. Anyone watching MMCH at the moment?
Anyone want to come visit?

Then it's the kids museum for the new exhibits & then the park. Hopefully the kids will be so tired by then they'll pass out. I love my job!!! :x
I hope everyone has a great day!

So heartbreaking to read about losses these past couple of days.
