If you wash out a pot several times and boil it etc etc I think it's clean and fine to use. I mean, there are toilet type germs everywhere. ON YOU RIGHT NOW.

I was thinking the same thing, my dishwasher has a sterilization setting, so if the temp is high enough it will kill all the germs. I am not easily grossed out by things though.
Ian's first day of school was a success. When I got there, they were doing circle time, and he was right there with the group. He only went for one hour today as his orientation day, and he cried about leaving. Tomorrow it will be the regular half day schedule, I think he will be just fine. Me on the other hand (
OH I almost forgot to tell you. I finally encountered essential oils IRL today. I was at the post office at the woman next to me at the counter (customer) had a bag of little glass bottles with oils. The woman behind the counter (employee) had to ask about the contents to be able to ship it. So the customer says they are glass bottles full of oil. The employee is like "uhh.. what kind of oil? There are several flammable types of oil so be specific" and so on. So the customer got out her vials of oil and :-@ for ages about the healing properties of each and that she is sending them to her grandmother because it will cure her arthritis because her doctors can't.
@PickleX How do I get some of those arthritis-curing oils? My rheumatologist failed to tell me about them.
I don't know, but you can probably just use olive oil instead and expect the same result.
As long as it's up the butt.

Hey @PickleX - glad to hear that your drive went well. I didn't get a chance to say it the other day, but was thinking of you guys. Congrats on the move and new house!
@PickleX How do I get some of those arthritis-curing oils? My rheumatologist failed to tell me about them.
I know a lady. You know her too.
Maybe, I can prepay for some placenta and breastmilk jewelry?
FFTC: I'm not sure I even want to try breastfeeding Nugget.
:-??
How come? Health reasons? Genuinely curious. DH asked me if I'll want to give BFng another try if we were to get KU again. I only BF'd for a very short time.
Threw my back out shoveling. Omg, its pretty bad. I feel like an 80 year old. Trying to get some PT scheduled and took a leftover Csection vicodin. This really sucks.
This girl will not be shoveling snow. I told DH he either will buy a snow blower (which I probably still won't use much) or hire a area teenager. There are only so many concessions a west coast girl can make when agreeing to move to an area that sometimes has negative number as a daily temperature. I hope you feel better soon @KateJuly2013
@mrshudson618 please explain the "Sweaty Obese Babies Wear Cloth" sign in your signature?
It's a CD board thing. People come to the board and complain that they can't use cloth diapers because they make their kids too sweaty. (Often, it's pee, they just aren't used to how cloth absorbs differently than disposables)
Its also a common complaint or fear that fluffy butt can occasionally require sizig up in clothes. Our usually reply is that it doesnt matter what size, our babies just wear what fits, which is usually not the "right" size, regardless of cloth diapers. Then a woman told us that our babies must be obese because SHE never had to size up, even in cloth, and her kid wears the RIGHT size.
It's a longstanding joke, ^thats just the short version.

I'm team this. I'm not too sure why laundering clothes with poop and pee stains is any less gross. Shit happens. Sterilize it. With fire, with soap, whatever. Move on. And I'm a germaphobe over here. I just don't know why the weirdo is advertising the fact that he's eating where he's shat. Technically we all do that because germs travel - even if you're a crazy pants like me about them. You wipe after you go to the bathroom, you wash your hands for the requisite amount of time, you touch something that you just set on the floor boom your hands are recontaminated.
ETA - Like if it were me I'd get rid of the damn pot. Because of a mental thing though - I don't want to picture/relive the experience of cleaning out the shit from the tub everytime that I use it. And I sure as hell don't want others to either. Hey this is my shit pot! Let me tell you a story! But from a scientific perspective it doesn't squick me out if that makes sense.
I agree. It's much weirder that he keeps talking about it, than that he still uses it.
@etoille : I'm so sorry that anyone has to go through loss (at any time). Many thoughts & prayers going out to the mamas that need them on the BMBs. So heartbreaking.

I have made the decision to formula feed this baby. When I look back at those early weeks with P, all I remember is the struggle. I feel like I missed his life as a newborn. Not this time.
That makes me so sad about the losses. we had an old acquaintance lose an almost full term baby early last month and it was so devastating to think about. Thoughts and prayers to those families.
@econmama - I get not wanting to put yourself through something torturous again but I do know many people who had night and day differences in breastfeeding one kid to another. I had vasopasms at one point due to latch issues and it really isn't fun. Either way, you get to decide how to feed your baby so whatever you choose that's cool. no need to feel bad about it if you decide to skip it this time.
Saw a doctor because I started feeling sick again. I saw a civilian doc and now trying to fill prescription on base. They have you pick a number based on of you are in uniform, seen in ER, a military provider or civilian provider. I have been here well over an hour, they have called approximately 30 numbers and only TWO in my category.

This is what I was just gonna say. I was so all about BFng with LO that the newborn days were so miserable for me. I think I'd like to give it a go again, if given the chance, but I won't be so persistent about trying and being miserable with it. Especially now seeing how LO thrived and developed just fine on formula.
@econmama : as you know, do what feels right for you. I had a hard a hard time (pain/supply) with DD & it was a breeze with DS. You just never know & I'm Team Cross That Bridge When You Come to It. Best to you & LO#2 when you get there.
@jennipalmer I never ever shovel. But Maggie and I were out playing in the snow, so I thought I would take advantage of the opportunity and shovel one of the driveways. Im an idiot sometimes!
Maggie had a blast at least. She white washed herself (which was hilarious) and stared at the snowman like it was serial killer.
Now Im failing at parenting and letting PBS takeover, so I can sit on my ass with a heating pad. All sorts of mommy guilt happening.
@econmama I am having similar feelings towards BF if we ever get a BFP. We supplemented with formula after about three weeks and I had a ton of guilt and shame about my supply issues and her slow growth her first 6 months. Those feelings sucked and I dont know if I could hamdle that again, + dealing with a toddler as well. You do what is best for your family.
@Silv3rlining I gave up waiting! I usually go on base because my asthma and allergy meds can get expensive but this is cheap antibiotic. I really don't like military doctors but with my asthma and therapy it is best choice. If I go back to work full time I will switch to standard because I will have the money for the copay and no time to wait for military providers.
My cable is out (the box is stone cold dead) and the poor customer service person sounded like I was going to release the hounds or the bees when she told me the soonest appointment was tomorrow.
Dude, it's cool, the world isn't going to end. I'm sure they get folks flipping shit about it all the time (or so my call center friends have said who worked for time warner) . I am alright without a couple days of cable. She sounded relieved I wasn't going to verbally lash out at her. The kids don't like it, but tough cookies.
The only thing that makes me stabby is that our internet keeps killing modems. Like, different house & different modems-- they die. This is our third one. :::twilight zone music:::
@biggunsbo Because I am not a Creepy Gym Dude, I did what you should do if you see a woman at the gym with boobs: looked at her face, smiled, and kept walking. Does every gym have a Creepy Gym Dude?
The poop pot wouldn't bother me that much. I'd sterilize and use it, but we love to cook, so we have expensive cookware. That would be a lot of $ down the drain.
@Byjove03 Addie is more tolerable of getting her hair fixed if I let her sit on my bathroom counter and play with my brushes while I do it. She thinks she's getting ready like Mommy.
I wish I had been more laid back about supplementing with formula too. Addie and I had an awesome nursing relationship (it was easy and perfect), until around 6 weeks. She had some health issues and refused to eat from breast or bottle. I eventually EP'd so it would take some of the stress off of me being the only one that could feed her, but then I stressed about pumping enough. I finally supplemented and wished I had sooner. Formula is made for a reason - use it if you need it!

Yes.
I've been the creepy beach lady here in Hawaii. I saw a girl with a thong bikini. She had sand all over her butt cheeks, and she was posing for her friend to take a picture. The friend was even encouraging her by saying "bend your left knee a little". I asked H what one would do with a pic of sandy ass cheeks - he says some young teen is getting an awesome text that will lead to sexting. :^o

So glad he wanted to nurse when he got home. My boobs needed that!
The names and main idea are the same...but that's like it. What the hell.
