Chris is biting everyone right now. Man, the twins are being beat up! I have bruises on my legs from him biting them. I dont' remember the twins doing the biting thing this young. Josh never did at all....
DD was about 14 months. It took about 6-8 weeks of firmly telling her no, we don't bite it hurts, and removing her from the situation if need be, but she got out of it. The doc also said to catch her before she bites, when she is in a situation where I know she will bite and give her the no we don't bite talk.
She still bites occasionally, but nearly as much as she used to. I was so worried she was going to get kicked out of daycare. She bit 4 times one day before lunch. I was mortified.
I think part of his problem is that his ability to understand is on that of a 9 month old level and his ability to communicate is on a 6 month old level.
Kate was bitten by a 16 month old at playgroup earlier this week. He's also a bit delayed in expressive language. I've heard that kids who are delayed in language are often more prone to biting since they don't have other ways to express frustration.
it started when R was about 15 months old, he is almost 2 and it hasn't stopped! im at my witts end tying to figure out how to stop it. he bites when he is mad, happy, excited whatever.
