Congrats @nopegoat, she is beautiful! Our girls share a birthday!
Miss Kennedy made her arrival on 12/26 at 10:44 PM (41+1😵💫). I went into spontaneous labor the night of 12/25 after spending the afternoon with family (I had an induction scheduled for 12/30 just in case). Labor was very long, the epidural was amazing. My contractions slowed after the epidural so I did have to get pitocin anyways. Only pushed for about 40 minutes
She is a big girl, 93rd percentile but I expected as much from a 41 weeker. So much for newborn diapers!
Congrats to everyone on your new additions. I spent the last few weeks being so envious and feeling like I would be pregnant forever. Now I can’t take my eyes off of her!
Baby girl arrived last week! I was induced at 39+6. I was 3cm when I arrived and they started pitocin. Once I felt contractions more, I asked for the epidural. It took a bit longer than my past epidurals and she hit some nerve which made my left leg twitch. She got it all set and I waited to have my water broke. 2ish hours after my water broke and maybe 3 pushes and baby girl was here! It was a very easy labor and delivery.
I snuggled my baby and enjoyed those quiet moments with her, my first meal post baby was delivered which I ate and kind of felt nauseous, and then I started feeling this major headache coming on and I just wasn’t feeling myself at all. They moved me to my recovery room and I just did not feel like myself. If I sat up, my head hurt, if I stood up, it just was pounding pain in the back of my neck and head. They talked about the epidural causing problems and doing a blood patch to ease the pain. A few hours go by and they decide not to do the blood patch and transfer me to a different hospital to do an mri overnight leaving baby girl at the hospital I just delivered at. I ended up leaving my husband and baby there and I took an ambulance ride in the middle of the night to this new hospital. I sat in triage in the most uncomfortable bed ever waiting for the next decision by the doctors. They decided to not do an MRI and finally moved me into a recovery room around 7 that next morning…..baby girl ended up getting transferred over thankfully so I could nurse and I ended up just sleeping these next 2 days. I went home still with a headache if I sat or stood for too long and I just rested and slept for a few days. The headache finally went away and now I’m dealing with mastitis! I just got on meds for that so hopefully we are on the mend.
such a weird postpartum experience after such a perfect labor and delivery but baby girl is healthy and so perfect so now we enjoy the quiet time at home. 🩷
