Clomid & TWW

Just curious to see what other people's reactions to clomid have been? Today a lady at work had french toast and I almost puke at the smell of it. I have also had some headaches, nothing terrible, but a lot worst than I ever have experienced. Other than that it hasn't been too bad. We are in our TWW. It is so hard to not take a pregnancy test every day.

    I actually had zero side effects on clomid except my EWCM drying up. I don't think CLomid is still present in the 2ww though. 
    Off BCP since 1/12
    TTC since 3/12
    High LH/FSH Ratio 8/12
    DX with PCOS 11/12
    Clomid 50mg - 19.5mm Follie - Trigger + TI = BFP! 11/12
    EDD August 11, 2013

    Everyone and every cycle is so different! I had hot flashes and headaches cycles 1,2 and 4 and had no issues at all the 3rd cycle.

    Good luck!

    ETA I forgot all about the cm until I read above. I had ZERO cm all 4 cycles. Preseed was our friend! And the headaches and hot flashes stopped within a day or 2 of the last pill.
    TTC#2 Since July 2011
    Me: 29, had two blocked tubes - left was cleared during lap, right was unable to be cleared. PCOS & Stage 2 Endo. DH: 32, SA = perfect
    CLOMID: 4 rounds, 50mg + TI = BFN's. FEMARA: 1 round = no response
    12-24-2012 : Laparoscopy, Softball sized cyst/endo/scar tissue removed.
    Cycle #14 - Feb 2013 : 50mg clomid. Ovidrel Trigger. IUI on 2/14/13 = thin lining, multiple cysts.
    Cycle #15 - no meds, still have cysts, no follicles. Boo!
    Forced break. Continuous BCP for 6 weeks to give my jacked up ovaries a break.
    Cycle #16 actively trying (May/June): Femara, TI = BFN
    Cycle #17- #20 - Med/Treatment break, trying on our own = BFN's all around.
    Cycle #21 - Femara, MORE Femara, Ovidrel and a Christmas IUI = BFN

    No side effects after I stopped the pills.  Clomid can make your LP longer though, so keep that in mind if AF doesn't show when it normally does.

    2 years, 2 surgeries, 2 clomid fails, 2 IUIs, 1 loss, IVF #1 - 10/25/10 = BFP!, DS is now 3.5yrs!
    TTC #2 - 6/12 surgery #3, FET #1 & 1.2 = BFN, 12/2012 FET #2 = BFP! DD is 1.5 yrs!
    Surprise! 12/16/14 BFP, loss #2 12/31/14

    I can't wait for the "im getting a divorce" post in 5 years or so because your husbands were fed up with your disgusting chair asses from playing on the knot all day and getting fired 4-5 times for not doing any work. you guys are all winners!! ~ Laur929

    Yeah, it hasn't really had an effect on my TWW except I have a wee bit of PMS now that I never had before.

    I only did one cycle of Clomid, but I had major hot flashes before O. After O, life carried on as normal. Wink

    ** After  2 1/2 years of Unexplained IF, 2 failed medicated cycles, and 4 failed IUI's - our baby girl came to us through the miracle of     Mini IVF! **

    I was totes bummed out while taking Clomid...who knows if it was the actual meds or just the fact that I was taking them, but my RE switched me when I told him I thought I was sad.

    I noticed general nausea and was definitely more aware of smells, but I also tend to get paranoid in the TWW that somehow these are miraculous pregnancy signs (33 cycles into TTC and they have never been pregnancy signs: I should know better!)

    Anyways, I also had disrupted sleep, mood swings like a crazy woman, boiling hot nights, and excess CM fluid (not the EW kind, but just generally more). 

    You're totally right, it's hard not to check, but if nothing else, don't waste your money using extra tests. Keep yourself busy and try to hold off until a specific date. Keep in mind what another poster said: late AF will mess with your brain. She's a spiteful b*tch that way. (AF is, not L&R70707, lol!) 

    30 yrs, healthy & TTC since April 2010 
    DH 32yrs & healthy
    *unexplained infertility* 

    Regularly access alternative medicine to supplement a lack of resources in our geographical area.
    • Three rounds of clomid (50mg days 3-7) were useless.
    • IUI#1 w/clomid & HCG in May 2013, BFN.
    • IUI#2 w/clomid & HCG on July 23rd. BFN.
    • IUI #3 in August cancelled last minute, due to lab error.
    • IVF#1 - Started Gonal F stims October 13 2013 for IUI. Over-responded with too many follicles, so converted to IVF. Retrieval October 29th - got 5 eggs, 4 fertilized. Had 2 perfect little embryos transferred on day 3 (Nov. 1). The remaining 2 didn't survive to freeze. Got our BFN on November 13th 2013.
    • IVF#2 - Started stims August 21st. Triggered with Suprefact, started on dostinex due to risk of OHSS. Retrieval September 5th - got 27 eggs! 21 embryos on day 3. Embryos deteriorated quickly. ESet 5day blast on Sept 10. No embryos high enough quality to freeze. BFN came Sept. 22.

    Reserved a semi-known proven donor in August .

    Waiting for consult/screening and protocols with estimated fresh cycle timing in October

    AF never shows up for me : ( it is very hard to track a cycle with no period.
