Hello everyone! I hope I'm not too late but I couldn't decide if I had the energy to join or not. This will be my fourth baby and I saw lots of others on here also on their fourth! This is actually a vasectomy baby so this was a huge surprise. I already have DS (9), DD (6) and DS (3). I have an English cocker spaniel and a cat and I have been a stay-at-home mom. I like to sew and bake. I'm due March 28. So far I feel great but my belly started showing pretty much instantly this time around.
@RoseShadow873 we have a 9(DS), 5.5 (DS) and 2 (DD) yo as well! The only one I'm worried about with the transition is the 2yo, this was also not a planned baby for us and so she has absolutely been treated like Queen Baby her whole life 😂 9 and 5 though are beyond delighted and talk daily about how much they love and are excited for the baby. Welcome welcome, you're certainly not too late.
@RoseShadow873 Nice to meet you! And wow on the vasectomy baby....not gonna lie that makes me nervous as hubby and I have talked about him doing that when we feel "done"...guess there's always a chance for an extra!!!
@midnightatsunset Welcome! I am a STM also, and would love to have a baby girl but could honestly go either way. I know my husband would love a baby girl. I think he was secretly hoping for a girl my first pregnancy but in the end was so grateful for a healthy baby. However, I am not going to be heartbroken if this pregnancy reveals a boy because then my little minnow will have a brother to play with.
RoseShadow873 Hi & welcome! Vasectomy baby! Wow! How rare or common is that? Another veteran mama, how nice! I enjoy hearing of all the experiences..etc it adds a good mix of knowledge to the group. Definitely not too late to join! I used to sew a lot in my 20's and kind of stopped but still held onto the same machine in the event I wanted to get back to it, or needed to mend something that required it. I do enjoy baking too. I was actually making a lot of sourdough until I got pregnant and lost all that energy, but definitely needing to get back into it because I'm missing it.
Hi all, I’m joining late here, but I’m so encouraged reading your posts - I thought for sure I would have nothing in common with anyone on here this time around. I’m also pregnant with baby 4 (a girl). When this baby comes I’ll have DD1(11 years), DD2 (8 years), and DS (5 years). I was very active on my N14, J18, and N20 boards.
I’m a teacher and am married to my husband - we’ve been together for 22 years and married for 12. Yes, I’m an old lady and my recent chart actually “elderly.” I’ll be 41 at delivery.
Hi, everyone. I'm definitely in the AMA-Mama crowd, as I am 42 and will be 43 at delivery (due March 11), but I'm a newbie in almost every other way...first pregnancy, first baby, even first online group (still trying to sort out some of the acronyms above...). I'm a lawyer and a novelist, so some people assume I chose career and put off motherhood, but nothing could be further from the truth. I have always, always wanted to be a mom, but it took two traumatic, 10-year failed relationships to find the love of my life, and even after that it took us years of trying (and I mean trying - ovulation strips, progesterone strips, chasing the right levo dose, acupuncture, egg retrieval, IUI, testing up and down at 3 different fertility clinics, TCM herbs, Kegg, "just relax and get drunk"...) before getting that unbelievable, beautiful, and very first BFP (I'm learning!). I held our news close to my heart for 13 weeks until we got our NIPT results - it's a girl! - but now I'm finally, but still cautiously, letting myself embrace this long-hoped-for miracle. Especially since yesterday I had a whole 24 hours without throwing up, right at 15 weeks on the dot, and I'm feeling more energetic now. 😅 Looking forward to learning from all you experienced moms and sharing in this journey together. Xoxo
Welcome and congratulations!! I am a long time litigation paralegal (who theoretically still plans to go to law school... we'll see at this point) so I'm excited to have another legal professional here!
I read thru my MFM notes yesterday and it says “advanced maternal age and maternal obesity” 🥴 I am 36 and I’m 5’4” 200lbs. Im def. No stick figure, but oof 😅
Welcome both of you & congratulations! No age shaming here! I'm actually quite inspired in a way and hoping (sure it will) everything goes well for you older mamas. It's opened my eyes and heart to not thinking my childbearing window is necessarily closing, 33 here, and although younger, no spring chicken. 🐓 I appreciate all the experience sharing from the older mothers here.
Btw acronyms I found on Reddit were: DD (darling daughter), DS (darling son), DH (Darling husband). They were used more back about ten years ago in the Bump app, but some feel comfortable still using it.

Tip- when you change your name, log out and log back in if it isn't registering when you make a post, usually resets it and fixes it.
