Hey all 👋
I thought an intro thread would be a great start now to our BMB. I'm a 4x the bump user so I figured I'd get it going!
Tell us about yourself to your comfort level - your partner, any children, pets, work, hobbies! How you found out you're pregnant and your EDD? How are you feeling? I'm so looking forward to getting to know everyone!
Re: Introduce Yourself!
Hi everyone! I’m Hilary — wife to the most incredible husband and the love of my life. Our story began one magical night, wandering the streets of New York City until sunrise, and we’ve been inseparable ever since. After 8 years of infertility, I’m overjoyed (and still in disbelief!) to share that we’re 6 weeks pregnant — our dream is finally coming true.
We share our home with our two sweet Frenchies, and for the past two years, we’ve been building our dream business together — an interior design and architecture company. After working side-by-side across multiple companies, we took a leap of faith and left our corporate jobs to chase something more meaningful. It’s surreal, but it truly feels like life is aligning in all the right ways — exactly where we were always meant to be.
Excited to be here and connect with this community 💛
@fifilala516 due date twins! I think there's a specific kind of nerves reserved for your second baby! You know how hard certain parts can be, like birth, and that can be nervewracking to walk into again! Plus I know a lot of moms get worried they don't know how to love another baby as much as their first. You guys have totally got this!
I'm Lizzie. This will be baby #2 for my husband and I, our son is turning 2 in August. I'm 7+3 today (due March 3rd) based on LMP but I'm fairly confident I ovulated late so I expect that to change with my first ultrasound. I work part time as an RN and the rest of the time I am on our little homestead with my little side kick. So far I feel pretty good! A few days of bad headaches but overall can't complain. I had an absolutely awful first pregnancy, throwing up from 5 weeks all the way through my delivery, in and out of hospital for IVs, my blood pressure kept tanking, and I was in a not great mental space with prenatal depression. But I feel good, I'm feeling positive, so hopefully this is a sign of a more better experience overall!
Editing to add, I am super excited although have not fully processed this yet as it happened quite quickly. Trigger warning (loss) I've had 2 previous losses, so I'm also nervous and trying to keep myself from getting carried away. I am a stay at home mum, and my fiance works in finance. My boobs are very sore and lower back aches. I also got a positive covid test last night, right before my pregnancy test turned positive, so I feel rough in general.
Hoping to find some other expecting people here who are similarly nerdy, horror fans, or are Halloween lovers. I tend to feel a bit awkward in spaces like this.
Best of luck to you all!
Have any particular nerdy past-times getting you through the first trimester rush?
I don't know if anyone is still looking at this forum post, but I wanted to introduce myself as I hope to be more involved in this group moving forward.
I am a SAHM to a beautiful 14 month old boy and this is my second pregnancy. My hubby is the best partner and father and I am so excited to continue our family. Also a little shocked, we wanted our kids close together but somehow never dreamed I would get pregnant only the second month of trying.
I am currently 9w today and due March 29th. Although If I make it to full term, I will likely have a scheduled c-section before then (my first was born a month early with an unplanned c-section). I am nauseas and tired (very much like my first pregnancy!). Hubby and I will be finding out the gender during the anatomy scan at 20 weeks (or whenever this new clinic I am at does it). We would love a little girl, but honestly I also love the idea of my son having a brother close in age!
That being said, I do live in MN which is not as extreme as Alaska, but does get quite cold and have long winters!
