  • @babyno1at41 We do mostly plant based, with eggs and fish. Usually I don’t do well with meat during pregnancy
  • @whatabout2ndbreakfast Thank you! I was nervous I wouldn't have enough nutrients unless I eat some meat. I know everyone is different, so I will also listen to my body and what it wants.
  • Congrats!! The 2nd will be here before you know it.

Hello! I’ll be 33 when baby comes, due 12/21. My husband and I have one son who is almost 2 (we actually had his birthday party today!), and we are so excited for baby #2!

I’ve suspected I was pregnant since last Sunday and got a positive test on Thursday. We were not actively trying but had relaxed our NFP a bit so we knew there was a chance. 😊 At first I felt a little freaked out because I still get so overwhelmed just caring for my son, but as the news sinks in, my joy and excitement grow!

We’ve only told my parents (who I talk to every day and don’t want to have to hide it from) and one brother- and sister-in-law (who are our duplex neighbors and are expecting in November). We’ll probably tell my husband’s parents soon and then wait a while before making a big announcement.

Everyone seems to say the second baby is easier, and I have a feeling that will be true. I had a ROUGH time when my son was a newborn, but I feel like knowing so much more this time around will help a lot. And I think he will be such a wonderful big brother! Although the adjustment will be hard for him at first.

I don’t have any specific prayer requests but would welcome general prayers for a safe and healthy pregnancy and birth! If we have a few members who pray, would anyone be interested in having a specific prayer request thread?

Edit: Wow! Just catching up on all these intros, and I love to see all these big families! ❤️❤️❤️

  • I’m also 27 and baby #4 I have 2 girl and a boy hoping for a baby brother for him to play with 🩵🥰 and I have only told my husband and my sister and surprising our kids with ultrasound pic this upcoming Friday ! I’m a bit nervous about his side of the family there very judging and hopefully they get happy as we are ! But if not it’s also okay 🤭🤷‍♀️
  • Hello!

Have been going through fertility treatments and at our first ultrasound found out it was twins! Very nervous because this is our second pregnancy with the first one ending in MMC. The first scan at 6 weeks we could see the heartbeat for baby b but not baby a yet but the doctor wasn’t nervous.

How did you feel when you found out?
    shocked!

Have you told anyone yet/are you having a hard time keeping the secret?
    Our parents and yes!

Is there anything you feel nervous about?
The idea of twins and making sure I make it past the 9 week mark which is when we have the MMC

Is there anything you would like prayer or encouragement in?
Not comparing this pregnancy to last time
  • I'm so excited there are so many larger families this month!

@missa_lyssa I remember you from last time! Congratulations and I hope you're doing well!

This will hopefully be baby #5 for us. We've been TTC for 4 months, and had  2 chemical pregnancies during that time, so I was trying to wait to post until I made it to 5 weeks... eh, close enough. Due date is Christmas Day!

DH and I have been married for 13 years, our oldest is 11 and current youngest is 2. We've moved since the last baby was born, so I'm not all that excited about having to use a new provider. Our first two were born in a hospital with CNMs, and it was a great experience. The other two were born in a stand alone birth center with naturopathic doctor midwives, #3 was a fine experience but I wasn't actually sure I loved it more than my hospital births! But #4 came after Covid and after some slight waffling, I opted for the birth center again with the dr midwives I already had an establish relationship with - and it was such a good decision. The care was really smooth, because they could do pediatrics care as well as my care, my delivering midwife was a miracle worker (she could tell me exactly which positions to be in to get my cervix to dilate exactly the way it needed to, and to keep things moving). It was just the most beautiful, relaxed birth. And when our baby got a major diagnosis two weeks later, the midwives went out of their way to call and check in on us multiple times. There's just no way the hospital team would have been that involved.

This is the first time I would be open to a home birth, but DH is adamantly against it. There aren't as many out of hospital options where we live now, so I have some research to do, but most likely will have to do hospital CNMs again. I also get to find out how much extra testing I have to do this time now that I'm officially AMA.
  • Hello! I’m 6 weeks due December 17th with #3! I’m 36 and my kiddos are 10 and 7(will be 11 and 8 when baby comes). This was a surprise pregnancy and I’m still coming to terms with it. Husband is having an extremely hard time so I’m trying to hold space for him as he works through everything. I’m just starting to feel nauseous but light exercise seems to help as well as sea bands!
The thing I’m most concerned about is that we just moved into our house 9 months ago and it fits our family perfectly, we have a very, very small guest room which works perfectly as such but as a bedroom is way too small. Sharing bedrooms isn’t an option as they are not large enough so I’m not sure where baby will go. Any ideas for small space nurseries are welcome! Moving isn’t an option and neither is adding on to the current home.
With my other pregnancies I had friends in the same place in life as me but now being older and all my friends are done having babies, i feel a little alone. I'm glad to see some other older moms on this thread! Thanks for reading!
  • Hello I’m a 28 years old this will be Baby number 3 for my husband I together we have a bonus daughter who’s 7 1/2 We have a 4 year old girl and 2 year old girl, hoping for a boy this go around, but will love a healthy baby either way. I was nervous and anxious when I found out. Didn’t really want to be pregnant right now or over the summer pregnant as I’ve done it three times in a row ! My daughter’s birthdays are 10/31 and 11/11 so you can understand my pain now that this baby is a December baby. Right now I’m having symptoms of nausea at first I didn’t want to eat anything at all, food itself was an ick,
And I couldn’t brush my teeth without feeling nauseous or wanting to vomit. I have insomnia and wake up in the middle of the night with a queasy stomach and acid reflux. Cramping very much random cramping. But anywho happy to be here with you lovely mommies. I also have an Australian shepherd and two cats.

Hi, I’m 26 and this will be me and my husband’s first. I think we were both in shock when we found out but with every day I can tell he gets more excited. We’ve told our parents and I’ve told cousins who are close to me. We’re waiting to tell the rest of our collective family and friends after my first appointment. It’s been really hard because all I wanna do is post minute by minute updates lol
  • This is my 2nd pregnancy.  I have a bonus son age 12 (have full custody of) and bio son age 19mos. Kinda still in disbelief even though we've been trying for 8 or 9 months.

Haven't shared with anyone. Waiting on 1st appointment.  Hubby is a truck driver so not really sure what this journey will look like. Have already had a few meltdowns because I'm extremely exhausted and having to still keep up with the boys as usual with no help.

  • Hi all! I'm a second time mom with an almost 3 year old son. We also have a dog and foster dogs, who we basically treat like kiddos! 😂 I'll be 5 weeks tomorrow with a 12/25 due date. I'm 38 and my hubby is 39. Feeling overjoyed about a potential second kiddo, but also very nervous it's still so early. We had a chemical pregnancy back in February and know we're not far along yet. But staying hopeful. Have been having evening cramps and sore breasts and just started having a bit of nausea.

Really glad to be on this group and connecting with everyone! During my first pregnancy I was nervous about all the newness so I didn't connect with other expecting parents throughout, so I'm excited to have this space with everyone in this journey!!
  • Hello everyone! Just had a positive test today, two days before missed period so I know its very early. Technically due date would be 2 Jan but I feel like December is more likely. Will know more when I make my first apt.

Me and my partner are both 34, we weren't trying but decided to go off the pill at the beginning of the year and see what happens. This would be my second pregnancy, my first born is 7! Which makes me feel a little crazy but a lot happened in those years. I also have two older children (9 and 10). Even though like a week ago I started to have the feeling I was pregnant (sore boobs, super hungry, bloating) I was still in shock when I took a test this morning.

I've told my partner and two of my best friends so far. I will wait until at least 12 weeks to announce as I did have a miscarriage before my first child. I really loved being on the boards back with my last pregnancy so I'm excited to join the community here.

  • Hi all!

I'm a FTM at 35, currently approaching 6 weeks with EDD December 22. My first doc appt is scheduled for May 16 and once we have a healthy confirmation we plan to tell immediate family the news.

My symptoms/side effects so far have been (very!) tender breasts, some fatigue, and an appetite increase.

I look forward to being a part of this group and learning from others' experiences!
  • Hi, I am due Dec 21st. We are waiting until mother's days to tell our parents. Keeping this secret is hard! It's our first and so it's really helpful to read what other moms are going through.

We picked up a pregnancy test and ice cream. We figured if it was negative we could soothe our sorrows with ice cream and if it was positive then we'd celebrate. We got to celebrate!

I had cramping that has subsided. Funny how the cramping made me worry and now I'm worried it's gone! 😂😂 I've been really tired in the evening and have figured out I need to exercise before the tiredness settles in.

Looking forward to doing this journey with you all.
  • Hi everyone, I’m a first time mom to be! Due date is December 6th! We were shocked when we found out! We weren’t trying and we were planning to start trying end of next year. It was a surprise but a very happy one at that! My husband and I are both chiropractors and I specifically work with pregnancy and pediatric patients! It’s exciting to be experiencing this with my patients now!
We’ve pretty much told most of our friends and family but no one outside that. We have been pretty over joyed!
  • Hi everyone! I've been reading through the introductions and it's nice to get to know you all. My due date is Dec 19 and I'm grateful to be pregnant after TCC for four years-- but also very nervous for this journey. I'm 32 and I have a 10 year old son. When I got my BPF I threw it out thinking it was negative and I had "line eyes". It took me seeing a digital "yes" to believe it!
  • Hi!! I'm having my 3rd due Dec 26. I have a bonus daughter that is 10, daughter 9, and son age 3. This will be my 3rd home birth and we want the gender to be a surprise this time! The kids will be 11, 10, and almost 4 when baby is born. This was a happy surprise! I didn't plan another but I'm feeling like the timing is good and a blessing for our family.
  • Hi everyone! This is my first pregnancy and I’m super excited. My due date is December 21st. We haven’t had any ultrasounds yet but when we do I think that will make this all feel more real. I have been exhausted and nausea is getting worse. Now even after I eat something it’s still there! Either way though, I am excited. We never thought it was going to happen. We had been trying for 2 years.
  • Hey everyone! I am pregnant with my 2nd child and am almost 40! This was a complete surprise to my husband and I (he is almost 50), so we are freaking out a bit. My son is almost 11 and my bonus daughter nearly 20! Oh Lordy, I am still in complete shock about this whole thing. Hubby and I tried to conceive for years after my son was born with no luck, and my doc told me I was perimenopausal so I just thought that ship had sailed, lol! We are still processing this crazy information, but trying to make the best of it! Have only told a couple close friends, and will probably wait a bit to tell others, as we are worried about viability with us being older…
