Upcoming Appointments: 28 week appointment in March 15, ultrasound on March 18
How are you feeling?: I have hemorrhoids … sums it up haha
Rants/Raves: rant - I’ve had a stuffy nose this past week and it didn’t seem to be going away which sucks! My son also has it and I feel bad for his poor nose every time I have to wipe it.
Questions:
GTKY: Are you planning to have a maternity photo shoot?
Yes! I did a more formal style shoot with my first and I want to do something more fun this time. I was thinking of baking a pizza or something with my husband and 16mo son and have pictures during? Haven’t decided yet
Upcoming Appointments: This Friday - midwives appt and glucose test!
How are you feeling?: All in all pretty good. Really minimal complaints at this point.
Rants/Raves:
Rave - We finally got the work done on the room my daughter will move into, which means we can start setting it up (and then start transitioning the nursery to get for baby girl #2). My pediatrician recommended making changes to physical space about 6-8 weeks before baby comes to minimize the association with it being because of the baby, so I've been anxious to get this done.
Rant - We still have a lot of other work we want to get done and I really like my contractor, but also hate the push to move the work along. Also, as a second rant, my entire family has a persistent cough and I'm really said for my husband and daughter who have it so much worse than me. I'm ready for this season of sickness to be over!
Questions: None right now!
GTKY: Are you planning to have a maternity photo shoot? No - I thought about it (and even had an opportunity to do a more "mini" mothers day session in a couple weeks), but have been stressed about money and didn't really know what I would do with them anyway (other than just have them, which would be fun). In my first pregnancy I decided I only "needed" either maternity or newborn and would much prefer newborn - and going with that again this time around.
Upcoming Appointments: Need to go for my glucose test next week, then MFM the week after.
How are you feeling?: Overall pretty good, just extremely large lol
Rants/Raves: RAVE: So so so close to viability! RANT: I am not feeling the best about my body right now. I'm not usually one to get down on myself, but I have already gained SO MUCH, and this pelvic rest is not helping with feeling desirable and sexy in my own skin. I just feel enormous. Even some of my maternity clothes don't fit! I know it's all temporary, just frustrated that I'm letting it get to me.
Questions: NATM
GTKY: Are you planning to have a maternity photo shoot? I never had one with my other kids. I thought about doing something for this one, being a rainbow baby after a hard road, but I don't think I'll end up doing it. I think I'd rather hire someone for some nice family photos this summer.
Upcoming Appointments: March 25th for regular appointment, ultrasound, and another round of Gestational Diabetes testing and blood work.
How are you feeling?: trying to get over a sinus cold. Otherwise I'm feeling pretty good.
Rants/Raves: apparently my last two GD tests were for early pregnancy testing purposes. Between having a history of big babies, cardiovascular issues, and gaining weight pretty quick... I had to get tested early. Just hoping a pass, especially since it will be a week before Easter! I would like to enjoy some peanut butter eggs!
Questions:
GTKY: Are you planning to have a maternity photo shoot? Nope. Maybe have some mother day photos, but not professional. I always splurge on the newborn photos instead. But it is nice to have a couple candid maternity photos. Especially to show the kids when they are older.
@littlemarshmallow hemroids suck! Luckily I normally don't have issues until after delivery. Stool softeners are a lifesaver! Hopefully yours calms down soon.
@littlemarshmallow and @curlyandpreggo I hear you on kids little noses! My youngest two have had the same sinus cold I have and they're skin under their noses are getting so raw from them rubbing at it. I think I've gone through a whole tube or Vaseline!
@maggiemadeit ugh yes the weight gain is so frustrating, and being on pelvic rest I'm sure makes it even more frustrating. I feel like I've been so. Intentional about what I eat and keep exercising as much as I can, and I think my weight gain has been worst than my previous pregnancies. You are definitely not alone in the frustration ❤️
Upcoming Appointments: this Wednesday for a check-up
How are you feeling?: really good! Tired in the afternoons/evenings but otherwise things are uneventful here.
Rants/Raves: rave—had a great weekend with the family. Rant—March is going to be bonkers. Two of my kids have birthdays plus we have our weddings anniversary, and my husband is traveling a bunch for work. There’s also lots of kids activities right now so it’ll be tough to juggle it all.
Questions: NATM
GTKY: Are you planning to have a maternity photo shoot? No, we’ll do some nice newborn and family pictures after baby is here.
Upcoming Appointments: March 27th, passed my diabetes test last week and am so thrilled. I cannot go without carbs so I was really stressing.
How are you feeling?: The heartburn has been really bad the last few days. If it continues I am going to have to start taking Pepcid because I am miserable. Besides that and feeling big, can’t complain too much
Rants/Raves: Rave: we had our baby shower this weekend and had a lot of fun. Both our parents came into town and it was fun to celebrate with them all weekend. Everyone also really enjoyed our games so that was a plus!
Rant: I am getting frustrated my lack of balance. I understand that it is because I am getting bigger but I have had 2 falls walking my dog in the last month and keep scraping up my knees/hands. My husband has said that I cannot be the one to walk the dog anymore, which I know makes sense but I hate the feeling of not being able to do something so simple!
Questions: none
GTKY: Are you planning to have a maternity photo shoot?
No, like many of you I want to do newborn photos instead. For those who have done them in the past, how early do I need to schedule them? Can it be done once the baby is born?
@maggiemadeit I am in the same place feelings wise and am not even on pelvic rest (which I am sure would make it much worse!). I do not feel attractive at all and I really wasn’t expecting that to be an issue because I haven’t been super self conscious in the past. Reminding myself it is temporary helps a little but not as much as I would like!
Upcoming Appointments: Glucose test and Rhogam shot on the 25th
How are you feeling?: Mostly enjoying having a bump that's really starting to look pregnant, but also dealing with back pain and constipation
Rants/Raves: My sister and sis-in-laws are throwing my baby shower! So sweet! However, my best friend, who started TTC at the same time is struggling with infertility and has been having a hard time just being around me so things have been lonely
Questions: none right now
GTKY: Are you planning to have a maternity photo shoot? No, not sure why, just don't really feel the need to spend money on it.
@sbaby2023 I booked my photographer in advance so she knows my due date and around when I will need pics - but then reached out to her once hang is born to actually schedule. I booked way in advance this time just because I knew who I wanted to use and wanted to check it off my list, but I know people who have booked after baby is born (just depends on how much availability your photographer has)
@sbaby2023 Usually around 2 weeks (more or less) and I think generally at home (that's what we did). My photographer just posted something about how if you aren't ready at two weeks don't feel pressure to do them then - they can be done whenever you are ready!
Re: Weekly Check-in w/o 3/3
