Upcoming appointments: Today! Normal checkup
How are you feeling? Some days good, some days achy. No matter what time I cut off drinking water, I get up several times in the night to pee. Tossing and turning a lot from having backaches or hip pain in the bed. Husband and I just got back from our babymoon in Charleston! It was very nice and not too much walking.
Raves/Rants: Wasn't until our babymoon that made me really miss having wine and beer 😮💨 Also, we still haven't picked out a middle name for this boy😬
Questions: belly support bands: anyone have them and notice change in pelvis/body aches? My ob recommended trying it or k-tape, but also that it doesn't do much for some people sometimes.
How are you feeling? Tired! Insomnia is getting the best of me. My snoring had gotten worse so I now get woken up by my husband telling me that I’m snoring 😑😆 Raves/Rants: raves: my husband finally started painting the nursery!! I think we’ll be able to assemble the furniture next week! Rants: work has been nonstop stressful (feels like my workload is increasing vs decreasing) but this is my last full week (only working three days next week) so looking forward to get the house and myself (mentally) prepared for next month.
@ahrob135 I’m glad I’m not the only one with the snoring issue! My hubs would wake me up about it and then I tried those breathe right strips. I’m not sure if they make much of a difference but I definitely feel like I can breathe better 😅
Appointments: I have one scheduled next week but I went in today to get checked
How are you feeling: not great. Lots of headaches, some vision issues, last night I started swelling. Up until now, my BP has been normal but I went in today to get checked and it was elevated. They took some blood and urine and will contact me this afternoon.
Raves/rants: I'm ready to have this baby. My poor body is stressed to it's max.
Questions: none really

How are you feeling? Tired. But I've been overdoing it a bit since I got an extra boost of energy last week! I'm a lot calmer about the birth, but a lot more nervous about life with a baby! It's all too real now! My husband is nesting but I don't feel motivated enough...I don't feel close enough to labor I guess...
Raves/Rants: I don't feel close to labor, but I know it's going to be happening latest in three weeks! Three weeks feel like forever and no time at all. Every time I freak out about having a child, I go back to my baby's little washed onesies and smell them. It's weirdly grounding and fills me with all the baby fuzzies (thanks, dreft!)
Rant: my sister is due any day and needs help. Granted, I probably shouldn't be the one she's asking, but I live the closest and she does give me an 'out'. I say yes to things that will tire me out because I feel bad, but I wonder if I should be really selfish and say that I can't. I am 37 weeks! I need my sleep!
Questions: how often are y'all's appointments? I know I have extra because of "high risk" but my sister, who is probably 39 weeks, has only just started once a week appointments, while I have 2-3/week starting from 36 weeks! These appointments tire me out to no end, but I'm wondering how off scale it is to a 'healthy' pregnancy.
@madimom95 ooh I haven’t tried the breathe strips yet - will prob order some off of Amazon! My nose has been really dry so I’ve been sleeping with a humidifier (doesn’t help with the snoring though lol).
@chellylin I go in every other week. Starting 36 weeks I will have to go in once a week.
Upcoming appointments: Thursday bio-physical to check growth because I’m “old” 😂
How are you feeling? 😩 so terrible. I’ve been on cloud nine up until 2 days ago. Horrific pelvic girdle pain hit me so hard it’s impacting sleep. Same with the acid reflux. I called the doctor today just to make sure everything sounded “normal”. Tums won’t even touch the acid reflux… I’ve been steadily working on diet changes.
Raves/Rants: I’m just hoping we go naturally at 38 weeks. Midwife is looking at induction if I go past 38 weeks which I absolutely do not want.
Questions: has anyone else had pelvic girdle pain?? Anything help this far along in pregnancy?
@chellylin I started going every week at 36 weeks!
@jordieburd@mayghen18 I bought a belt off of Amazon and it’s helped take some of that heavyness off of my pelvis but I still deal with some pain at night. I usually will soak a little in the tub before I go to sleep and it eases it a little.
@clt2pwm11 hang in there ❤️ my bp was a little high last week they took labs and had me come in the next day to do a recheck on this big machine. It was a little high but not as high as the day before so now I just have to watch it. Labs were within range. I’m hoping it settles for you and you can relax soon
Baby is the size of a(n): I dunno, but rapidly approaching the maximum size I can fit
Team Green/Team Blue/Team Pink: Pink
Upcoming appointments: Hospital tour on Wed and birth planning meeting on Thurs. That's when they determine whether I'm allowed to try a VBAC and I am SO nervous.
How are you feeling? Big. Pubis symphysis pain is still a major problem but the crutches help. I move at snail speed but I get the kids where they need to go when my husband can't. Acid reflux has also come back with a vengeance.
Raves/Rants: On the plus side I'm grateful my husband works from home. He generally does very little kid caring/housework during the week but has stepped up with me virtually immobile.
On the other hand, remember when I said I laid down boundaries with my parents and ILs? Turns out that (very difficult!) conversation was for naught. I asked my parents to come for the first week of January and they agreed. They just scheduled flights for the first TWO weeks. Also, my husband will be gone for one night in January and my ILs have scheduled their vacation around it so they can come "stay with the baby" while I take the older kids to school that day (even with baby this is a 30-minute process, max). Um, I did not ask for that, I do not need it, and I definitely don't want them here at 7am. And if I DID want help, it would be better for them to take the older kids... Summary: the setting of boundaries was unsuccessful...
Questions: If a pregnant woman speaks and no one listens, has she actually made a sound? (Melodrama intentional )
@jordieburd@mayghen18 I have pubis symphysis pain (the front of the pelvis) that prevents me from being able to lift one leg at a time. I've been using a sacroiliac belt, which is technically for the back of the pelvis, but it still helps. It reduces pain when standing and walking by about 30%, but does nothing for sitting.
@madimom95 Thanks. My labs came back elevated, so I've been diagnosed with preeclampsia. 😞 They will monitor me twice weekly and I'll start a beta. If I can make it one more week, I can deliver locally. If not, I will be shipped to the bigger hospital.

How are you feeling? Pretty good just a little tired. I've taken more of a step back from work which has really helped my stress level. Trying to focus on enjoying these last few weeks and preparing for baby!
Raves/Rants: @mayghen18 I'm in the same boat as you. If I don't go into labor naturally by 38 weeks the doc says I'll be induced. I also would prefer if that didn't happen, but I guess it's up to the baby lol. I just wish I was told that earlier, I understand why because I am also "old" 😅. I'm just the kind of person who likes to have all the info so I can mentally prepare for things and they only told me at my last appointment that it was a possibility.
Questions: Anyone else overwhelmed by all the "info" social media is throwing at you? I only have Pinterest but all the articles about what you should and shouldn't do, before the baby, while in labor, after the baby...it's alot. I mean I take all with a grain of salt but seriously it's a little out of control.
@clt2pwm11 I’m sorry ❤️ I’m hoping everything goes smoothly for you. My sister in law had preeclampsia when she was 33 weeks with her second oldest girl years ago and she’s healthy as ever. I will be praying for you!

Upcoming appointments: Had our follow-up ultrasound today and now we're on weekly visits.
How are you feeling? Ugh...trying to figure out the right decision to make. So, she's still measuring 2 weeks ahead and our doctor said now we need to decide between inducing a week early or scheduling a c-section. I asked what she recommended and she basically said it's a decision we need to make, but pretty much kept talking about the risks of shoulder dystocia and that she's been consistently measuring big. She also said that the risks with a vaginal delivery were more impactful on the baby where any risk with a c-section would be more on me. It felt like she was pushing the c-section, but I don't know what to do!
Raves/Rants: Had a pretty big rant up there, but I'm also just getting a bit frustrated at home too. We got a lot done with the nursery and the things that still need to get done I need my husband's help for, but every time I think we'll have a free day to do it, something else comes up and we end up getting nothing done. I just want to start getting things organized and put away before Thanksgiving since we're hosting.
Questions: Any thoughts on inducing early vs. c-section? Those of you who have had c-sections; how was the recovery? I truly don't know what to do.
@chelleylin I am officially at once a week as of today (and I'm 36 weeks) until she's here. @mayghen18 God...the acid reflux/heartburn has been my worst symptom this entire pregnancy and it's only getting worse now. Even if I don't eat anything or something super mild (like yogurt which is supposed to help) I get awful acid the second I sit down. It's like I can't fit anything other than this giant baby in my body. @booksandicecream Ugh...so sorry your boundaries aren't being followed! I am so worried about that as well, especially if we do opt to have a c-section. Can you talk to them about taking the older kids instead of the baby or are they just going to do what they want no matter what you ask? @clt2pwm11 Wishing you all the best with the preeclampsia diagnosis! Keep us all posted on how you're doing.
@dmcg17 I can’t speak for the C-Section but I can give some insight on early induction. By choice we were induced with my first boy at 39 +2. We used Cytotec which is a pill used to soften the cervix and walked up and down the halls in the parking lot etc until I was 5cm dilated it took about a day and a half for me but I was about 1cm dilated when we got in there. I didn’t allow them to use pitocin until the very end it and it was a super small amount. Every induction is different. Didn’t have any issues just was a process
@ahrob135 and anyone else who's mentioned snoring: my husband said my snoring has woken him up, but he's been gracious enough not to wake me 😆 sometimes I hear it myself if I'm in the early stages of falling asleep.
@booksandicecream that sounds like something my in-laws would do. I'm sorry that's something you're already having to worry about! Maybe you can put them all to use in running errands and getting/making food and letting you rest.
@dmcg17 I've heard a planned c section is very nice. You'll be slow moving for about two weeks. You'll find horror stories of women who were induced and of women who had c sections. If you have friends you have used your practice, I would ask for their experience. That can help you decide 😊

@dmcg17 such a tough space to be in! I’m not sure if you are on a social media… but on tik tok I follow Jen Hamilton and she has made some awesome videos including induction and c-section. I have a section on my birth plan about C-sections and I requested to do skin to skin which I checked with my practice that they do, do that so I would just confirm if you go that direction. As @clt2pwm11 mentioned I’ve also heard that planned c-sections can be calm and less traumatic compared to an emergency C-section. Whatever you decide to do just remember you are making the best choice you can make in the moment with the information you have!
@clt2pwm11 I’m fighting hard at my doctors office to run tests for preeclampsia because they have me as high risk just based on an initial high BP reading. I’ve taken my BP at home everyday starting at week 10 and have never had a high reading (with a calibrated monitor) I wish you the best of luck and hope all the monitoring leads to a safe and healthy delivery for you and the baby! 💚
How are you feeling? Exhausted and sore. Hip pain is getting so bad walking and standing for work is getting so difficult. Which sucks because most of my job is walking / standing 😂
Raves/Rants: my fundal height is on track but I keep getting told how small I am (doesn’t feel like it!) but it always makes me scared that my baby isn’t getting what he needs- thankfully OB says he’s doing just fine.
Questions: Nothing at this time just ready for the little guy to get out of my body! Hoping he will be the exception and be ready earlier than my due date 🤞🏻
@madimom95@clt2pwm11 and @mayghen18 I appreciate all of the feedback and information you gave for my decision! I requested to speak with my regular doctor (my practice wants you to see everyone and this was my first visit with this particular doctor, so I'd like to speak to someone I know well about such a big decision) and will make a decision from there. I think we are leaning toward the c-section because it seems like the safer option for both of us, but I just want to bounce it off a doctor I truly trust before making this choice.
Upcoming appointments: Last biweekly regular checkup on Nov. 30th
How are you feeling? I'm feeling pretty good overall. I'm definitely experiencing shortness of breath when I walk and talk, body aches from the weight of my bump, occasional headaches, and some acid reflux but not heartburn. It's getting harder to get comfortable to sleep at night. I've also had sore boobs this entire pregnancy (like every single day) - I'm not sure if anyone else has experienced that. I don't feel like I've had any Braxton Hicks contractions yet, but maybe I have and just don't know it?
Raves/Rants: I had a great regular checkup with my OB yesterday. Baby boy is doing well and growing on track! I'm doing well and still healthy. Thank the Lord! I pray that everything continues to stay this way. We talked with my doctor about doing an elective induction at 39 weeks because we really want one particular doctor in my practice to deliver and so, we would schedule it on the day she is on call at the hospital. She put us on the list and so, I feel good about that and excited. But...also nervous at the same time. I think I just have a fear of the unknown and what to expect pain wise. I do want an epidural as soon as I can get one, but it's all of the pain before I can get the epidural that I'm worried about. Of course, I still feel overwhelmed by our long to-do list of stuff to get done before baby arrives and I'll feel so much better and more prepared when everything is checked off our list.
Questions: Is anyone else planning on doing an elective induction at 39 weeks? How are you feeling about it?
@jordieburd Yes, my belly band has helped me. I got the motif brand through my insurance. I wear it during the day at work but take it off when I get home. I definitely have noticed a difference in the amount of support I have for my lower back and just taking some of the weight off of my legs and hips throughout the day as I move around.
Baby is the size of a(n): romaine lettuce but it says his big toe is the size of an M & M 🤣

Upcoming appointments: ultrasound tomorrow to check fluid levels
How are you feeling? I’m feeling better today, trying to adjust to my husbands new work schedule and keep my 4 year old boy busy has me wiped by the end of the day.
Raves/Rants: so my blood pressure in todays app was 140/76 which is still high. They are looking at booking an ultrasound doing more labs and discussing the possibility of an induction next Friday depending on how things play out. I’m calm in the sense that my oldest will be with his grandparents and he will be safe and secure but I’m also nervous because 38 weeks is a little earlier than when my oldest was born and the induction was not fun but it is what it is. Like I said last week you can’t control what happens you just adapt and I want baby and me to be safe. We are prepared and we still have some time to get stuff together (and I can have my thanksgiving plate 😂)
@dmcg17 Full disclaimer: I have a very strong bias against c-sections. Most women have neutral-to-positive experiences. So. A planned c-section is generally quite safe, especially for baby. BUT ONLY THE FIRST BABY. If you are planning on having more, the situation changes quickly. The chances of complications for any subsequent pregnancies are way higher. For example, today I was diagnosed with placenta accreta and this birth will be life threatening. Solely because of a prior c-section. Again, I have a MAJOR bias and you and your doctor need to decide together what's best for YOU. But please make sure you ask about subsequent pregnancies, if that's something you're considering.
How are you feeling? I'm carrying high, so lots of acid reflux, nausea etc, depending on the position I am in. This makes sleeping really hard. Also, like a lot of you, lots of snoring. My husband has been sweet and hasn't said anything, but I notice that I sometimes start almost before I am fully asleep, then I have to adjust. I'll try the strips though, it sounds like it has helped some of you
Raves: It's getting so close now, I'm so excited to meet the little guy! It feels so real now!
Rants: There is soo much left to do and I sometimes feel like it's all on me. My husband has been great in dealing with me, but he is about as tired as I am most of the time and it's been hard to not be overwhelmed. Now that I'm toward the end, I want to just be able to relax and pamper myself but I really can't, there is too much left to do, which has been frustrating. The nursery is finally painted, but we don't have furniture set up yet or anything we got from the shower organized, it's just kind of all over the house right now
@booksandicecream The doctor I met with on Tuesday basically told me that there are chances of complications, but that if we want 2-3 children I should be fine and if we want 4+ (which we don't) that the risks of complications are very high. I'm still waiting to hear from my regular doctor though to ask her the list of questions I've compiled over the past 2 days and that was one of my questions for her, especially since I struggled to get pregnant and needed medication for this pregnancy.
Like everyone has said, do what you think is best. I have tried to follow the BRAIN method for decisions and it has helped me feel a bit more confident as the big day gets closer!
Upcoming appointments: Had one this morning, and the next checkup scheduled for right after the week of Thanksgiving!
How are you feeling? SO tired and swollen… and ready to sleep laying flat again 🤣 This morning the dr said I’m measuring at 40 weeks, so sounds like we are planning for a fairly big baby!!
Raves/Rants: Why are boundaries so hard?! We’ve asked for no visitors day of birth, and you’d think we said that people can’t have a relationship with the child… when it’s JUST 24 hours.
Questions: what are y’all packing in your hospital bags? I’ve been watching videos online, but some of it just seems so extra
@makenzie_e I hear you on boundaries - I said I don't want visitors at the hospital and have gotten back, "Well how long will you be in the hospital? I can't wait that long." 🙄 Also, question for you since you're measuring big also - did your doctor's office give you any information about shoulder dystocia or tell you you would need to induce early/opt for a c-section?
@makenzie_e Water bottle, nursing bras, night gowns and robe, pillow, blanket, towel and wash cloth, fan, perri bottle, shower shoes, grippy socks, slippers, long phone charger, chapstick, toiletries, boppy pillow. Those are the main things
Upcoming appointments: Monday 11/20: 36 week appointment, doing my swab for step B and doctor offered to “check me” but I don’t have too many symptoms that would make me believe I am dilated or effaced
How are you feeling? Feeling anxious, and ready. I’m a type A planner so I wish I knew when he was going to come. I do have some cold symptoms this week I’ve been battling. Body feels good, still working out 4 days a week, and doing pelvic/hip opening yoga 4 days a week as well. Still able to walk my 3 miles in the morning so I would say I feel great. Some Braxton Hicks contracts here and there but nothing horrible.
Raves/Rants: I’ve only gained about 8lbs this pregnancy and I’m sick of people saying I’m extremely small and asking if there is something wrong with my baby. I’ve asked my midwife about getting an US in third trimester to check size but she said it wasn’t necessary. We have only had one scan, which was our 20w anatomy scan. I personally feel he is perfectly fine but it does raise concern when everyone is commenting on my size.
Questions: has anyone noticed any lightening ? Where baby engages in pelvis. I read that first time moms it happens a few weeks before labor starts, I am curious if this is true ? Or does baby wait until Closer to labor to drop down ?
@dmcg17 I have a scheduled c section at 39 weeks due to a prior surgery, but the dr said that if I wasn’t already scheduled for one, she would have been talking to me about it since I’m measuring about 3 weeks ahead. I have a friend who has had two planned c sections and had a good experience, so hoping that I have a peaceful/ as stress free as possible experience too! Wishing you the best as you decide your path forward… whatever you decide is best for your baby and yourself is the right choice! 🩷
@ayspilks27 I'm not sure which man came up with the term "lightened", but it happened last weekend (34+3), confirmed by my doctor on Monday. Yes, I can breathe deeper, but I now have constant pressure on my pelvis and cervix, which makes me feel heavier, not lighter. A better description may be "engaged".
I’ve been using k tape this time around and it’s been SO helpful!! I have almost no rib pain and that burning skin pulling pain like I had with the last two!
@booksandicecream i feel defeated that I’m not engaged yet. Especially being 36 weeks tomorrow. I’ve been doing a lot of yoga movements that are suppose to help with bringing the baby down into the pelvis, but nothing seems to be working.

Baby is the size of a(n): Tickle Me Elmo

EDD/Weeks + days: 37 weeks 12/07

Questions: none at the moment
DS#2 due 25 April 2019
Baby is the size of a(n): Papaya
Team Green/Team Blue/Team Pink: Baby Boy!
Upcoming appointments: Weekly now
How are you feeling?
The nursery is finally painted, but we don't have furniture set up yet or anything we got from the shower organized, it's just kind of all over the house right now
Questions: Nope
Like everyone has said, do what you think is best. I have tried to follow the BRAIN method for decisions and it has helped me feel a bit more confident as the big day gets closer!
Baby is the size of a(n): 40 week baby!!!
Team Green/Team Blue/Team Pink: 💚
Baby is the size of a(n): pineapple

Upcoming appointments: Monday 11/20: 36 week appointment, doing my swab for step B and doctor offered to “check me” but I don’t have too many symptoms that would make me believe I am dilated or effaced
How are you feeling? Feeling anxious, and ready. I’m a type A planner so I wish I knew when he was going to come. I do have some cold symptoms this week I’ve been battling. Body feels good, still working out 4 days a week, and doing pelvic/hip
opening yoga 4 days a week as well.
DS#2 due 25 April 2019
i feel defeated that I’m not engaged yet. Especially being 36 weeks tomorrow. I’ve been doing a lot of yoga movements that are suppose to help with bringing the baby down into the pelvis, but nothing seems to be working.
