Re: Introduction Thread!

How you found out: I took a test at 9 dpo and it was negative. I retested at 12 dpo and got a very very faint positive, which has gotten darker with subsequent tests! I’m addicted to peeing on a stick lol

Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets? Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?)
I’ve been with my husband for 8 years, married for 5. I’m a mother to three (5, 3, 19 months), have had one miscarriage, and I’m raising my 15 year old niece. I’m a SAHM but I have a custom cookie decorating business. It’s been out on hold until the kids get older, but now that we’re having another I’m not sure the future of it. I love to read, spend time with my family, go to the gym, and Bible journal.

How are you feeling (any symptoms, Emotionally)
Symptoms- I got extremely dizzy at during the night at10dpo and didn’t think a single thing of it being related to pregnancy but looking back I think it was! I’ve had light cramping and mild headaches.
Emotionally- Excited, nervous, and scared, but overall trusting in God. This will be our 4th which is a whole new level of stress in itself. But I’m praying for a healthy baby, safe delivery and stress relief while we work out all the big changes we’re going to have to make in the next few months. My mind is racing with questions that I don’t have the answers to. Should I stop working out? I’ve been on a weigh loss journey for since February and I’ve lost 32 lbs but what do I do now? I know it should be safe to continue exercising, but what if it’s not? Where will the baby sleep? Do we get a new car or buy 3 new car seats for my other children so that they can all 3 fit in the third row of our mini van, but those are $600 each. What gender will it be? I’m beyond excited to do the sneak peak test at 6 weeks to find out the gender! We switched insurances at the beginning of the year and I have to find a new OBGYN and deliver at a hospital I’ve never been to, literally ever. It’s stressful, but everything will work itself out eventually. I’m in good hands 🥹

Thanks for letting me vent 🫶🏼

@jenny10201128 we lost my MIL March 1st. It’s definitely a season of mixed feelings. We are planning give the baby a middle name of “valentine” since she was “Valerie” was born on Valentine’s Day, and this baby will be a Feb baby as well. Don’t worry they’ll have a very boring “normal” first name 😂

  • Hey everyone!

    Due date: 2/15

How you found out:  Took 3 tests 11 dpo and they all came back very positive!

Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets? Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?) Been married for little over a year.  We had a miscarriage in April and decided to try again immediately after talking to my OBGYN.

How are you feeling (any symptoms, Emotionally)?  Fatigue and cramps.  I reduced the intensity of my workouts but still working out everyday to keep energy up!
  • cohnflower, I also love gardening and have been thinking of ways to be safe over the coming months. Mostly I've just been wearing gloves and washing my hands thoroughly after working in the garden. Anything I pick from the garden I triple wash and cook (except the strawberries). I guess it's hard to know, but as long as a cat hasn't been using your garden as a litterbox, you're probably not at risk from toxo (list to This Podcast will Kill You episode about it). I also have a cat (indoors only, so low risk), so while my husband was out of town, I cleaned the litter box wearing gloves and a mask, haha. You could try that, too, for gardening and chickens.

    Hi everyone.

I found out early, 11 dpo. I also ovulated early! Cycle day 8. The early ovulation makes me nervous but so far so good. Estimated due date is February 9. We have a two year old. I’m pretty nervous about this pregnancy as we had a chemical in October and I’m 38…fingers crossed.
  • Due date: 2/24/24

How you found out: about a month ago I had a dream where a child I couldn't see told me they were waiting for us to be ready for them to come join us. I knew pretty much as soon as implantation happened that I was pregnant and I was just waiting for a positive test. I got one about 12 DPO.

Tell us about yourself: I have an almost 18 month old daughter. My husband and I work in corrections.

How are you feeling: I've had a few aural migraines last week so I am hoping that doesn't continue. Otherwise I am feeling okay, not many symptoms yet. I am just hoping to enjoy this pregnancy and make it full term.

    Let's introduce ourselves here: Catherine

    Due date: February 23

How you found out: This was our second round of IUI, blood test confirmed it yesterday!

Tell us about yourself : My husband and I have been married for a little over 2 years. We have 1 dog, 15 year old beagle/dachshund. I am an elementary special education teacher working with students with complex medical histories. I enjoy reading and beach days.

How are you feeling (any symptoms, Emotionally)? I have been super tired for about 4 days and have sore/tender breasts. I am cautiously excited!

    Hello!
    Due date: est Feb 22

How I found out: weird story but been feeling really tired for the past 2 weeks. Had a dream about being pregnant. And woke up crying for how happy I was. Thought to myself. Ok it’s time to take a test. And sure enough HCG strip showed 2 lines clear as day. Got a clear blue test right away and it showed pregnant.

About: have a husband, married for 6 years together for 10. We 3 fur babies (all large dogs). No children this would be our 1st child.

Emotions: honestly I’m still in shock. I have over 100+ HCG tests and I keep taking them. The 2nd line gets darker and darker each time. I was completely taken back on how excited I am. Having high anxiety, I thought I would be panicking a lot more. But I’m overall just excited.
I keep having cramps but no bleeding. Just a little worried. But I’m reading that is normal. My nipples are SOOO SENSITIVE… like why 😩 - I know why but still 😅

Look forward to meeting y’all and a space where I don’t feel alone. ❤️
  • Due date: Feb 18 (I think??)

How you found out: I could have sworn I got my period - right on time, bleeding like normal. Then 3 days later I woke up and my Oura ring, for the 3rd night in a row, was telling me my RHR was up, HRV down, and I wasn't ready for the day and needed to take it easy. I felt totally fine, so I took a test and surprise!

Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets? Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?): First baby - my husband and I started trying beginning of this year. We both work in tech and love to travel when we have time. I love distance running as well so hopefully will be able to keep that up throughout pregnancy and beyond :)

How are you feeling (any symptoms, Emotionally)?: Confused! Scared! Because of the bleeding, my doctor is having me go for 2x weekly HCG tests. My levels are going up and I have another ultrasound next week. I just want to know that everything is alright!! Hopefully it was just heavy implantation bleeding.

    Due date: Feb 26

How you found out: I'd been having waves of nausea since 6dpo, so I tested the day I was supposed to get my period on a whim. I got two lines on the pregnancy strip that came with my ovulation kit, but it was faint. That night, I bought a digital test and it was positive. I keep taking tests, just to watch my lines get darker everyday!

Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets? Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?) My husband and I got married in August and have been trying since November. We work together in the ag industry and have two dogs and a cat. This will be our first child!

How are you feeling (any symptoms, Emotionally)? The nausea came on hard and fast. It was my first symptom and my indication that I was probably pregnant. I'm already having food aversions, usually around meal times. I've started to notice breast tenderness, fatigue and peeing more frequently. Between testing positive so early and the early nausea, I'm low-key convinced it may be twins. Emotionally, it doesn't feel real yet. I also have ADHD and take stimulants daily to help my focus and work performance. Now that I am off of them, and off caffeine, AND feeling extra tired, I'm a little worried on how it will effect my work performance and motivation. but overall, we are super super excited!!!

Looking forward to connecting with you all! Username Cmill828

How I found out: I got a gut feeling and I decided to test, found of at 3 weeks and 3 days

I’m currently in school to finish my full specialist license and will graduate before baby is here (thank goodness). I am a cat mom of 4 and have an amazing boyfriend who’s so excited as well!!

I’m currently at 4 weeks and 2 days. And really just everything makes me gag. Including literally anything I wanna eat. So therefore I’m hungry and nauseous (but never been more excited to meet baby!!)
  • Due date: February 22nd

How you found out: missed my period and just decided to test

Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets? Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?)
I have a 13 year old boy young and he has been asking when I’m going to have another child. My partner and I fish a lot and can’t wait to teach this little water baby how to catch their own fish too!

How are you feeling (any symptoms, Emotionally)? I cry at EVERYTHING and have had a lot of nausea in the mornings and afternoons.

Let's introduce ourselves here: 41 this year, Louisville KY, sahm, married 10+ years, lots of family and inlaws close by.

    Due date: 2.22.24

How you found out: I had a test laying around from last time so I took it just for kicks because I'm only 7 months pp, and now we're naming this baby one shot wonder since we've only had sex once since October and I haven't even had a cycle yet.

Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets? Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?) Like @hotmessmama53 I'm joining the 5 club. I currently have a just turned 6y DD, 4+y DS, 2.5y DS, and 7.5m DD. Sober sahm. Boardgames. DH is turning 49 this year, and we agree this is our last baby.

How are you feeling (any symptoms, Emotionally)? Fatigue, back pain, sore boobs, weird food aversions. I'm all over the place, we had always said 5, but the reality of it is a bit overwhelming, esp with only a 15 month gap this time. Previous gaps were 21, 21, and 23 months, and there is a huge difference between a 15 month old and a 21 month old, so idk. Also I'm fairly new to sobriety, though I've been dry many times before, and haven't been a problem drinker much in the last 10 years. I haven't even had time to completely wean off my SSRI, though I've been tapering down for 2.5 weeks already. Speaking of weaning my 2.5 year old still nurses most days a couple times and my 7 month old obviously nurses all the time, so that's fun.

How you found out: we had been trying and tested. Yay!

Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets? Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?) My name is Sarah, my husband Michael and I are very excited for this little addition! We have 2 dogs and love the outdoors.

How are you feeling (any symptoms, Emotionally)? Nausea, SO tired!! Emotionally I am in high spirits. We had a miscarriage in Dec 2022 so I’m just taking it day by day and hopeful that this is our time :)
  • Due date: 2/27

How you found out: my BIL is a falconer and brought his bird over to use our hose to clean out his birds carrier and it smelled so I threw up. I took a test the next day and it was very lightly positive.

Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets? Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?) I have 3 other children and 2 dogs. I really just enjoy time with my family. My husband and I have been married for 4 years!

How are you feeling (any symptoms, Emotionally)? I’m extremely nauseous basically constantly but worse after a meal. We lost my MIL suddenly two weeks ago so that has been very hard and my emotions are already extreme from hormones.
  • Hello,

    I’m Kat!

How are you feeling (any symptoms, Emotionally)? Very, very tired!!!! Sore breasts and feeling anxious! No morning sickness....yet.

I’m married to my wonderful husband for 6 years in October, have a beautiful son who will be five in September. I have worked in obgyn for 10 years and it is my passion. My life consists of having superhero battles with my son, taking him to swim, soccer, and all his activities he loves doing! I also have a wild dog Loki and a bunny named Oreo. If I can find time I love to workout and read. My husband and I also love to binge watch a good show.

How are you feeling (any symptoms, Emotionally)? I am feeling lots of things so happy and excited but so scared and stressed the rug will be ripped out beneath me. Just trying to stay positive. My symptoms are nausea, fatigue, and bloating.

So far I have had some back pain and very, very, tender breasts. I have been pretty emotional too.

    Let's introduce ourselves here:

    Due date: 2/15/24

How you found out: This is our first round of IVF so 9 days after my transfer, I did my beta test and “tah dah”. Well, it wasn’t a surprise lol I started doing HPTs 6 days after my transfer so I could see the line progression against my doctor’s wishes 🤭

Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets? Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?)
I’m 36 and FTM. Hubby and I have been married for three years and TTC for two. We’ve had 4 pregnancy losses and can only get pregnant via IVF because I had both tubes removed from two different ectopic pregnancies. We LOVE to travel internationally, and have had to transition to traveling locally so we can stay close to the doctor’s office just in case. I have a hybrid job, work in Tech and really enjoy what I do.

How are you feeling (any symptoms, Emotionally)?
Sore boobs, nausea and food aversions are my main symptoms. I’ve developed an insatiable craving for cheese. Literally anything cheese. Grilled cheese, crackers and cheese, string cheese….Yesterday, I even had Kraft Mac n cheese and thought it was delicious. 😱 I haven’t eaten that since college, but my stomach was like give me mac n cheese NOW!!! Literally couldn’t stomach anything else all day until I ate that. I’m very moody and my husband tip toes around the house scared he’s going to say the wrong thing, but I really can’t help it. I’m uncomfortable, hungry, nauseous, and nervous about our upcoming ultrasound praying for good news.
  • Due date: 2/19/24

How you found out:We were actively trying, using ovulation strips, and when my period was a couple days late, First Response confirmed it!

Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets? Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?)
I’m 39 (will be 40 by time baby comes) and husband is 44, but this would be our first. We met during the pandemic and got married Nov 2021 ☺️  I had a miscarriage last July and chemical pregnancy in March, so really hoping this one works out. Heard a strong heartbeat at last week’s 7 week appointment so that’sa good sign!!

How are you feeling (any symptoms, Emotionally)?
I’m just nervous all the time about another miscarriage, esp an MMC like last time. Physically it’s just been very low appetite and maybe a little cranky.
  • Due date: Feb 26th

How you found out: I was trying with a donor and tested on the first day of my missed period. It was my very first attempt so I was shocked it took on the first go.

Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets? Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?) this is my first child, and I’m doing this as a solo parent by choice. I’ll be 40 in September and was sick of waiting around for a partner. I have the most incredible Golden Retriever who has already started getting more clingy.

How are you feeling (any symptoms, Emotionally)? It almost doesn’t feel real yet. I’m not having any symptoms really except that my boobs hurt a lot. I’m ready to do my confirmation exam in two weeks
  • Due date: 2/16

How you found out: we were ttc so I just took a test every day starting at 9 dpo.

Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets? Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?)

I am a stay at home mom to two boys, 6 and 3. Before kids I was a molecular biologist. I enjoy crafting (sewing, crocheting, knitting etc), listening to podcasts, cooperative board games. My favorite TV shows of all time are the good place and avatar the last air bender.

How are you feeling (any symptoms, Emotionally)?

I’m nauseous and tired and easily annoyed. I had 2 miscarriages before my oldest and 2 more after my youngest so early pregnancy is always an anxious time for me. Seeing a heartbeat has helped a little but I am still not quite able to let my guard down.

How you found out: missed my period and took a test. We'd been trying for a few months

Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets? Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?)
I've been married for six years and we have a 3 year old. I work from home with my cat assistant. Ummm I like to read and make jewelry in what little spare time I have.

How are you feeling (any symptoms, Emotionally)? I've had an awful headache/neck pain for the last six days or so and nothing is helping. Overall I'm just tired and upset that I can't spend time with my toddler because I can't get rid of this pain.

    Hi Everyone,

I'm David and way too old to be having another child ... only kidding, i'm 37 (so crickey, i'll be 55 when he/she is 18!!!) and my partner is 32 and this will be our second child. I am an accountant and my partner is in sales.

Weve just been for a scan with these guys https://3d4dbabyultrasoundscan.co.uk/ and it was brilliant. My partner wants to wait until after the first trimester before we share the images but i'm not too worried (i'll still wait because lets face it... the mums the boss right?). Anyway, I couldnt believe how advanced the technology has moved since we had our first. Last time it was blurry and could hardly see anything but now the 3d clips are like watching a film at the cinema.

Emotionally, we're strong. We've had a miscarriage once before and that was hard (hence why we'll wait til the first trimester is over before we share) but being a bit older helps I think.

Anyway, time to go get the bedroom ready !

Hey @daveycl !37 isn't old! Lol I'll be 37 when bebe is born
  • Due Date: February 17, 2024

How you found out: my husband and I trying casually (we weren’t timing ovulation, but weren’t doing anything to prevent pregnancy). I had a dental procedure, so I wanted to take ibuprofen, and decided to test just in case… four tests later, we were crying happy tears because the tests were all positive, including digital!

Tell us about yourself: my husband and I were recently married on April 20, 2023 in Cabo,
MX! We have an adorable mini goldendoodle, Gemini, who is the sweetest little thing! We live in Utah, and I am an attorney, and my husband works for Northrop Grumman! We absolutely love Utah, and skiing is our favorite winter activity! We cannot wait to welcome this little girl into our family!

How are you feeling: weeks 5-11 were ROUGH. I had terrible morning sickness, which lasted all day and night. I’m glad this symptom has started to subside! Aside from some dizzy spells, fatigue, and nausea when I don’t eat, I’m feeling great! Emotionally, I’m all over the place; crying over the littlest things and sometimes feeling rage for no reason.

We are so thankful for this little one, and I am looking forward to getting to know everyone!

    Hi all!
My name is Chrissy, I’m 11 weeks today. From my own math it looks like I’m due 2/29 but admittedly have no verified date because it is next to impossible to get an OB appointment as a new patient. I don’t get in until the end of August.

How you found out: we had been trying/not trying and my period was a couple weeks late so I tested!

Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets? Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?)
My partner and I are engaged but waiting until after baby for all the wedding things. This will be both of our first baby. We have 2 dogs and a cat. I work in non-profit communication and love the outdoors. I don’t know how I’ll ever love anyone more than I love my 2 nephews but I can’t wait.

How are you feeling (any symptoms, Emotionally)? I have zero symptoms which makes me anxious as hell but am trying not to focus on that. I’m 36 and know things will be tricky but I’m excited!
  • Congrats! And just re: age, I think there are a fair few of us in this Month who are over 35 (I'm 37), so we can be supportive on the "tricky" bits :)
  • Hi! Jazmynn here.  Wife, bonus mom to probably the funniest teenager I know, and my husband and I share two.  All girls.  This is our 4th and final baby.

Due date of February 28th, but both my babies came at 38 weeks, so I have a feeling this one will be the same.  Plus, I'm pretty sure my conception date is my husband's birthday... 😜

My husband and I were trying, we just didn't think it would happen so fast! I only took a test because we were going to celebrate his best friend's engagement, and I know champagne would be involved.  We were surprised with the tests came back positive.  We found out on Father's Day, a little over a month since I stopped taking the pill.

I've been extremely nauseous and tired.  I've only been able to keep down the crappy foods (a lot of fries from McDonald's), but I've been trying to get enough vegetables and fruit in as well.  I've never been that big of a meat-eater, so I do a lot of beans for protein.  My kids have severe allergies to peanuts and tree nuts, so none of those for us.

Hopefully second trimester the nausea gets better. Congratulations to all of you!
  • Hey all!

    Due date: February 11

How you found out: Just had a feeling. Took a test a few days before my period was supposed to arrive and saw the faintest positive result. Took another one a few days later and clear as day; positive.

Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets? Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?)
This is my husband and my second kiddo. We had a daughter in 2020 (so cautiously looking forward to a non-pandemic pregnancy…) We have an 11 year old grumpy but energetic corgi. I’m a kitchen designer, my husband’s an architect. Right now, just trying to keep up with my daughter but I normally like to read and run. Hoping to feel better soon so I can get back to running regularly.

How are you feeling (any symptoms, Emotionally)?
I have been significantly more anxious with this pregnancy than my first and I don’t really know why. Feeling much better after a 13 week check up and ultrasound! No nausea or vomiting but I’ve felt hungover for about ten weeks 🤪

My first pregnancy was extremely isolating so I’m hoping to feel some camaraderie here with others due around the same time as me!
  • I’m Katie and I’m 43 years old. After several IVF rounds and miscarriages over the past two years, my fiancée and I are expecting a boy on leap day (February 29, 2024). Oh and we are having a 120 guest wedding 9 weeks later here in Washington DC. Stressed much? Haha

Looking forward to connecting with other moms through this forum. Been feeling pretty good so far but noticeable stressed about things continuing to go well. :) I’m currently 14 weeks, 4 days. We also have an 8 year old pup who has no idea she’s going to be in big sister duty next year. So much for sleeping each day away!
  • @knottie Welcome! You're very brave for planning a wedding with a brand new baby! Good luck!

  • Due date: February 16th. But given my health issues I expect to deliver a few weeks early.

How you found out: we did IVF but I was pretty sure I was pregnant before the test. I had implantation cramps starting about 3 hours after the embryo transfer and my boobs doubled in size in the first 2 weeks.

Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets? Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?) No other kids, but my partner and I have been poring our perental energy and desires into our dogs. We currently have a 2 year old pit red heeler mix who will make a great big sister! My partner just started a new job (I currently don't work) and we are moving. So like is pretty crazy right now.

How are you feeling (any symptoms, Emotionally)? I never felt too sick, but I felt like I slept through my first trimester. Second trimester has come with a lot more energy. My biggest complaint is that I have been having flair ups of an old back injury causing spasms. It isn't specifically pregnancy related, but not being able to treat the pain with muscle relaxers is a frustrating part of pregnancy.
I have had a couple of emotional melt downs but over all not so bad.
  • The wedding was already scheduled and venue booked a year before we found out we were pregnant. Oops! 🤣
  • Due Date: February 6th

How you found out: we have been trying after a pregnancy loss last fall. I was at the point where I had given up on this month and not expecting (not testing as much, was on a vacation at Disneyland during time implantation would have happened)
I was taking a bath and I usually like them really hot, and just something in my said I needed to get out and I just had this feeling I needed to test. I took a test with clear blue and was negative, that night I had a dream I needed to test with a link dye one so did the next day and it was positive.

Tell us about yourself: 30yo who just got married last November 2 weeks after our first loss. We are pet parents to a spoiled pug and just bought a house in our dream area of the city. I am a store manager in retail and struggling to find the balance of working like I am used to and when to take a step back to not push myself. I am a bookworm and horror fanatic and love all things creepy.

How are you feeling?: overwhelmed. I have had a hard time enjoying this pregnancy as every pain and symptom makes me panic thinking I am experiencing another loss. I have made it so much farther and all tests have come out with positive results, but I can't shake the fear. I am just so lucky to have such a supportive partner and family beside me through this all, and incredibly lucky to have a work who understands and is more firm on my limits than I am

The round ligament pain is real with every little movement and I am just still always so tired.
  • Hi February Mama’s!!!

    Due date: Feb. 1st, 2024

How you found out: My fiancé now husband and I were trying but not trying. Pretty much our motto was if it happens, it’ll happen. And I notice that I felt light headed and dizzy at work and that prompted me to take a test since I was also keeping track of my period and I was a few days late . And when I did take the test it was positive but I was still not fully accepting of the result so I tested again a week after LOL. But the symptoms of nausea and feeling dizzy and lightheaded were becoming more prominent and frequent. I guess I just couldn’t believe that we were pregnant 😆

Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets? Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?) I’m a CVICU nurse, working full time. I have a Havanese name Theo. He’s turning 9 this coming November. I like going on hikes and watching shows like 90 day fiancé and love is blind where I can just turn off my brain. I met my husband through online dating just before the pandemic hit and the rest us history!

How are you feeling (any symptoms, Emotionally)?

I’m 26 weeks as I’m writing this and I’m kinda nervous but also excited! I never had any smell that made me nauseous which I think is weird 😅 I pretty much eat the same thing as I eat before I got pregnant.
