  • I've been having some bleeding that seems to be turning to spotting now 🤞 since like 5 DPO... I had spotting with my son too the first 10 weeks and all was ok but I still wish I didn't have to worry about that!

  • That is comforting to hear. I’m currently 5W4D and have been spotting off and on like every two days since I tested positive. Very very mild cramping maybe like once or twice a day. From everything I’ve read it’s normal but it’s still so scary with it being unknown. It almost feels like i physically can’t worry about it anymore from being so tired worrying about it haha
  • I’m 13dpo with cramps since 9dpo and now pink and brown spotting since 12 dpo. I got my bfp at 11dpo. This is my first pregnancy ever and I am so worried it won’t stick :/ . My lines are not even really progressing but I keeping needing to run to the bathroom all the time so it’s hard to have 3 hour hold. Ughh
  • I’m spotting as well. Trying to trust it will be okay- I bled pretty much all the way through my daughters pregnancy and she’s two now 😂🙃 so fingers crossed it’s just my body sucking at pregnancy

  • I ended up going to see my GP on Tuesday. She requested a blood draw and/or scan. My HCG is 6519 for 5w1d, I think that's pretty good. So we'll go see if there's a baby tomorrow. 🤞
  • @mimser - Did you end up going for an u/s or scan? (sorry if I've missed an update elsewhere!) Your HCG is GREAT for 5w1d, so hopefully, the scan goes well!

  • @izza2 yes thanks for following up!

A bit of an inconclusive scan but that was to be expected at 5w2d. There was a gestational sac measuring 5 weeks in the uterus so that's good but we couldn't confirm yolk sac and fetal pole which also fits 5w2d. So no bad news, and too early for good news basically. I wish I read the report but the nurse didn't seem to want me to and I didn't insist since the doctor wasn't there if I had questions. I have another scan in 2 weeks which I think will settle how we're doing.

Also my bleeding can definitely be called spotting now and I don't need a liner anymore. I'll take that.
  • I’ve been having on and off spotting basically my whole pregnancy so far, I’m currently 6w1d. It’s so scary but when I did my intake the nurse told me basically not to worry unless the bleeding is enough to fill a pad. It’s just little spots everytime so I’m hoping it stops. I’m going to mention it at my 8w appt.
  • I’m 4 weeks in and having light pink and brown spotting as well as some light cramping. My lines are getting darker so I’m guessing it’s normal!
  • I’ve found this calculator reassuring in the past!
It shows the (decreasing) odds of loss based on data.

  • I am 5w6d today, this is my first pregnancy and I’ve experiencing browning and spotting. Doctor mentioned it is somewhat normal for browning and spotting. Recommended to do blood work and ultra sound.
Cramps are generally mild. Occasional mild -mod cramping. I’m a getting a bit anxious, not knowing what to think. Still trying to get an urgent ultrasound appointment to make sure everything is okay. Still no appointment. It’s a waiting game at this point. Has anyone experienced this before ?
  • Hello
i had my US yesterday and the doctor said the fetal heart rate is too low. She said she didn’t want to sugar coat it and that this will most likely end in miscarriage. She scheduled a follow up in 2 weeks but I’m trying to get an appt sooner than that so that we can get closure on this. It seems incredibly cruel to tell someone they might have a miscarriage at any time then be like see you in 2 weeks.
  • @breif I am so sorry. Sending hugs your way.

  • I’m so sorry @breif — I agree that two weeks is a long time to wait. Standard practice is one week for another ultrasound to confirm to monitor closely. Definitely push for another ultrasound next week. *hugs*

  • Thank you. I was able to get my appt moved to march 2nd instead of march 7th. So a little sooner. Just trying to hold it together until I get some answers or closure.
  • @breif I’m sorry you are going through this. Loss, or threatened loss shakes you to your core.
I’ve had both happen- my daughter I had a lot of unexplained bright red bleeding, so they cautioned me it may not be viable- and she’s two years old now. But I’ve also had four losses.

  • @brief Thinking of you. I’ve been there too. Be kind and gentle to you.
  • Bright red blood when I went to the bathroom just now. Scared that I’m losing this baby.

  • @AmMcc12 I'm so sorry, it is very scary. I hope it's all that was...can you get in touch with your doc tomorrow?
  • @mimser I have a message in to them already. Hopefully I’ll hear in the morning.

@mimser it’s just when I wipe now and not showing on a pad so I would say yes. I do have some mild cramping. I should have results for this first draw by end of day. Those numbers should tell a lot as to whether or not they are okay for 7 weeks. Trying to take it slow but it is barbaric that women go through this and are expected to just continue through the day like nothing is wrong.

  • @AmMcc12 I know what you mean. I hope you can get some reassurance today. And that all is well in the end.
  • @AmMcc12 hoping for the best! My daughter I had bright red bleeding off and on through her whole pregnancy- it’s terrifying.

  • Level was 77,491 today. We will see what Thursday brings.

  • @AmMcc12 that’s right in the middle of the range! Things flatten out around 8 weeks- so don’t panic if it doesn’t quite double. did they do an US?

  • @charmedlifex3 I’m just hoping it still looks good Thursday. I have one scheduled on Monday so I doubt they will schedule one earlier.

  • @AmMcc12 that's really good
  • Last week I had some very light brown spotting. I called my dr and they said it was probably old blood from cervical irritation, and that they weren’t concerned, as I had no other concerning symptoms. Yesterday I started spotting brown again, this time a lot more. Not a huge amount, mostly just on the paper when I wipe, but it’s totally freaking me out, even though they said it’s probably fine. I’ve never had spotting before with my previous babies. I’m going to keep an eye on it, and call if it gets worse, but hoping for some others’ experiences with this. Main other symptom the last two days is a constant dull headache and fatigue. But no painful cramps.
  • @AmMcc12 any news ?

@mizzoumomma11 I've spotted in all pregnancies, ones with good and bad outcomes. Everything can definitely still be ok.
  • @mimser blood draw was at 8am and I was told I would know today. It is now 4:50pm and I haven’t heard anything.

  • So yesterday they called and had me come in for beta hcg and progesterone testing again. Got my results this morning, hcg is 23,500 and progesterone dropped from 20 to 10.8. I had to be put on progesterone supplements with my last baby, because it dropped, so I’m hoping this is just “normal” for my body. My hcg number makes me slightly nervous, as it hasn’t followed the doubling every 2-3 days trend, but I’ve read that as the weeks go by that isn’t a hard rule. I’ll be 7 weeks tomorrow. I retest on Monday, so that will tell us a lot.
  • Sending hugs your way @mizzoumomma11 ❤️

@mizzoumomma11 - it’s definitely not a hard and fast rule as your HCG numbers start rising! Once you hit the tens of thousands, your doubling time can increase to every 96 hours. It’ll peak weeks 8-11 and then start to decrease again. What we’re your previous HCG levels / doubling time?
