I just ordered tons of popsicles for a grocery pickup later today. They are the only thing that is helping with the nausea. It’s just a nagging constant feeling that runs constantly in the background. I’m 12 weeks today. Hopefully I only have 1 more week of this.
Today I’m 16 weeks and this baby avocado is growing and I’m getting these uncomfortable pains in my lower abdomen. I’m assuming it’s more growing pains or the baby is kicking my ass. It’s like a 2/10 pain and it comes and goes but a lot more than usual today.
@lmn823 I get these pains as well! For me sometimes it depends on how I am sitting, and sometimes I just need to stand or stretch a bit. I've been reassured that these sort of crampy aches are due to everything stretching and growing.
Well I’m still trying to kick the nausea. I seem mostly ok throughout the day but then just totally lose my appetite and feel like yuck late afternoon. That and I am exhausted this week but don’t want to sleep at night 🤦🏻♀️
Food aversions are also going strong for me. I have lost 5 lbs this pregnancy and I haven’t gained any of it back. I can smell the food we had for lunch and it’s making me feel yuck! Which is fun because I can’t eat any leftovers at all.
@gingermama29 I was so constipated and wish I could let out some air, anything, in the first trimester. Now in the second I am standing next to my SO and just accidentally farted! Just came out. Couldn’t even hold it if I tried. It was just quick and loud, not sbd. So yes gassy this trimester…gassy af.
@gingermama29 we've been playing "was that your ass or a nearby helicopter" since I turned the test but in the last couple weeks it's just gotten ridiculous. Thank God we had a couple nice days where it wasn't too cold to open windows to air it out because our bedroom was starting to smell distinctly like a fart. My daughter -- who is THREE, mind you -- dropped an "EW MAMA, people LIVE here!" the other day and I about passed out from laughing so hard.
@gingermama29 I’ve got gas but out the other end! I’ve been SO burpy and they are like loud grown man burps and constant! I do have gas out the other end more than normal but not excessive however they reek now and they never used to smell!
@emeraldcity603 I’ve lost a bit of weight too, about 7lbs as of last week. OB isn’t concerned but it does make me feel like I’m wasting away😬 I just want to eat and not feel sick after!
@pickle-chips so sorry you're feeling so miserable! Don't forget that Diclectin/Diglegis is just doxylamine and B6 in a combo pill, both available over the counter, so you can just take both individually if you forget to fill your script. Hope your nausea clears soon!!!
Food aversion is kicking my butt today, nothing sounds good I don’t want to eat anything. But that makes me nauseous. If I crave something and get it, it never lives up to what I want so can’t eat it.
@emeraldcity603 that is exactly what I said to my husband yesterday. I told him I’d like to want to eat a burrito but I don’t want anything. I’m usually starving right in the morning and I can eat. But this week I can’t eat much the rest of the day. Nothing sounds good and if I do force myself to eat something for dinner I feel awful the rest of the night. Ready for this to be over…
@novelblessings It’s all the smells for me. Yesterday I was smelling dirt everywhere. Typing that out just made me realize the last time I smelled dirt everywhere we had COVID. 🤦🏻♀️ Anyways, I was smelling it while I cooked dinner and by the time we sat down to eat I had zero appetite. I ate two bites and then pushed my plate away.
@emeraldcity603 oh that sucks. I think smelling dirty everywhere would make it worse! That is so strange. I think I’ve gotten over things smelling weird. I just look at food and I’m like, nope.
I have felt so awful the last few days and I could tell I was getting really dehydrated so I sent SO out to get me liquid IV so to try and avoid a trip to the ER for fluids (don’t want to catch the junk going around if I can avoid it) and honestly I feel like a brand new person! I guess I haven’t been keeping up on fluids as much as I thought or our city water doesn’t have much in it as far as electrolytes go. I also picked up a bag of life savers and have a few of those right when I wake up and I haven’t had as bad nausea as I have been having! Hopefully this stuff is actually helping and not another fluke that works for a week then stops.
@justyouraveragemama I love hydration packets! I try to be diligent about one a day when I’m pregnant. I love drinking water but I definitely don’t drink as much as before I had a kid. I feel like I also get a huge energy boost too. It feels like I’ve had a cup of coffee.
Hi! New here. 16 weeks and still throwing up daily so tired no matter how much I sleep and have gone from rage hormones to weepy this week. I’m really holding out hope that the vomiting gets better but have a bad stomach as it is and am not using my usual nausea medicine with the pregnancy so this may just be the norm for the next 5 months. Nothing helps, I hate all food and I’m feel pretty helpless this week.
It’s definitely just pregnancy related. I took a nap this afternoon and woke up feeling completely fine except for some drowsiness. I’m so exhausted this week. I think the baby has been growing because I’m starving all the time and I’m just so tired.
I've been having the "is that a gas bubble or the baby" feeling this week. 😂 Just random bulges or movements down there that make me wonder... Been feeling pretty good other than getting headaches after hardly doing any physical activity sometimes! It's been tough because I'd like to start doing some exercise, but definitely don't want to overdo it.
Definitely feel everyone on the gassiness. Not comfortable
Ugh - was making dinner last night and suddenly got super nauseous, lightheaded, and knew I was about to faint - I've been presyncopal before but it hasn't been a problem for years. Probably just related to blood volume shifts and dehydration but it freaked DH out. Thankfully feeling better this morning.
Stomach virus hit here too. My daughter got sick while staying with my parents on Saturday night (unfortunately). I thought I was in the clear, but I walked in the door from work yesterday and immediately went upstairs to bed. It's mostly subsided today. I've been drinking hydration drinks and just managed some food.
I'm so sorry everyone seems to be on the yuck bus! Hope it's all short lived, and meds are effective.
Anyone else getting restless legs? Every. Dang. Night. It's sooooo irritating. It isn't even overnight, it's like while I'm helping with my daughter's bedtime or while I'm sitting on the can. I know being tired is triggering it but man, I'd forgotten how annoying it is.
I got a massive wave of nausea in the middle of the night and I haven’t even gotten up from my bed and I can already feel it. It’s going to be a rough day.
I’m sorry to everyone struggling this week this morning I felt great with lots of energy. Then I started doing kitchen work and got faint, dizzy, and started gagging again like it was the first trimester. I felt better after having a bit of tea and sitting down for a while.
The middle of the night hip pain is setting in and I’m SO MAD. I am so proud of myself for sleeping on my side (as a belly sleeper) and then I wake up in major pain. I know it’s just the very beginning.
@ccmrc143 ooof I feel you on the hip pain! Angling your body slightly forward or backward might help relieve it? That has seemed to help me rather than having all the weight directly on my hips. The struggle is real though!
