Re: Symptoms - 1st Trimester

  • @babysavvy It's tough for sure. Crossing my fingers that the b6/unison helps and you get some relief soon.

  • I hear everyone that’s been feeling terrible. It’s so hard to be happy when you feel like crap. Each day I’m like I can’t do this anymore. But it’s one day closer to being over. We’re getting there.
  • 7w2d and feeling Nauseous, dizzy, fatigue. Experienced hot flashes last night for the first time too. I am taking oral progesterone 2x a day as prescribed by my RE till week 10. Hoping my symptoms ease up some when I am able to stop. For now Trying to manage my nausea with snacking and small meals but nothing sounds good. Overall quite miserable and do not feel like myself which is making me feel so much guilt.
  • Exactly @lovelikestardust I love my garlic! And my coffee! 😩 And someone had a burger at work on like Monday and I SWEAR the breakroom still smells like onions 🤢
  • @babysavvy I hope the b6/unisom help you!!!

@anniemarie887 so sorry about the heartburn. I hope you can find relief.

    @l@lovelikestardust oh noooo that’s awful!

My H asked for Indian food for dinner and I knew it wasn’t a good idea but I said yes. Last time we had Indian food, it wasn’t a good idea bc I felt so sick and I had an aversion to it my entire pregnancy. I ate a bit but it made me feel so sick. 🤮 so I quit eating to prevent a pregnancy long aversion.

Yesterday was rough. I woke up at 5am feeling sick. It was nonstop. I have friends coming over for brunch today and crossing it all I can survive and have energy.

This is my first pregnancy and I am 8 weeks today. I am queasy here and there but it never lasts longer than 15-20 mins. I was constipated for like the first 6 weeks then week 7 it gradually started to go away but I don’t think I’m fully 100% yet. I started to really feel fatigued starting last week, breast changes, bad night sweats, vivid dreams, frequent urination, & insomnia. These are all very normal. However, I do walk about 2.5 miles a day which I’ve heard exercise helps. I would say take it in & enjoy it! You are one of the lucky ones! 😀
  • @september1623 my symptoms are tracking almost the exact same as you. I’m at 7 weeks 3 days
  • 6+5 today, I wasn't really nauseous before, just a little here and there from gas. This morning I suddenly felt super nauseous and ran to the bathroom to throw up, cry, and pee my pants all at the same time. I don't know what to eat now
  • Hi everyone! I’m 7 weeks now with my second baby.

With my first I was getting morning sickness only in the late afternoons/nights. This pregnancy I have it all day, it started around 4 weeks. I’m hoping it will subside soon
  • Ugh, yeast infections. Didn’t someone else say they were struggling? I thought I was getting one a couple weeks ago, but it went away - but today all of the yeast infection symptoms just hit me all over again, but worse (so I’m guessing didn’t completely go away). 😩😩😩

Well, the morning sickness finally got me. I’m 7+1 today which totally tracks with my other pregnancies. At 6am I was sitting in the bathroom on my son’s step stool, simultaneously dry heaving and eating an Uncrustable  :D
  • @runningyogimama I've been feeling like I have a yeast infection coming on for awhile. I've only ever had one before and it was during my last pregnancy. I feel like the progesterone suppositories I'm taking are making it worse.
  • Hi all, just wondering if anyone has been struggling with constipation and bloating constantly? That has been my biggest symptom along the pregnancy and has been pretty constant for almost 3 weeks (now at 7 weeks). Still getting bowels moved okay but just an uncomfortable feeling. Hoping this is fairly normal and have definitely had the blump belly. Only having slight issue with morning sickness when I first get up but this usually passes when gas passes.
  • Hi @pottsyj3 !
For what it's worth since I had previous issues with my intestines (so it might tip the scale), I feel bloated since presumed implantation day with few moments feeling normal inbetween... Though it's been worst recently. I have not had constipation, but I have hypothyroidism which tends to induce diarrhea. But, I sometimes feel a lot like I'm constipated.

It is a rough feeling to have it so constantly. I would agree with what you are feeling though and mine is mainly bloating but with the feeling of constipation, I do have regular bowl movements so thats not been a concern, just uncomfy for sure.

@pottsyj3 Yes it's a really rough feeling, I'm 100% with you on that!  It should get better when we get to the second semester.
This is what I noticed that seems to help a little so far: it usually gets a bit better after drinking lots of water, though nausea tends to be worse when I drink too soon after eating. And it's not perfect either. I might not feel as bloated, but I still feel bloated.
If you are still feeling uneasy about this, I would encourage you to talk to the doctor or the nurse to get some peace of mind or maybe an better solution than drinking lots of water.
  • @pottsyj3 I have struggled my whole life with being regular and in pregnancy it gets so much worse for me. This time I decided to try Metamucil and I’ve been taking it daily for about a week now. It’s been helping a lot!

  • @pottsyj3 I was struggling a lot with constipation weeks 4-5, so I changed my prenatal to a plant-based one and started eating two prunes a day (I hate prunes). Things started moving smoothly again and I even stopped eating the prunes. I do have bloating and gas pain most of the time still, but at least I'm not full of poo, too! So maybe you can look into different prenatals and see which are good for constipation. Every body is different though, so just try different things and see what works best for you :)
  • I spoke too soon about my lack of nausea - the last few days, the nausea hits me hard in the late afternoon/evening, and stays for the rest of the night (which makes going to bed fun).

  • @runningyogimama a protein dense snack at 4pm helps me majorly
  • I cried over cereal tonight. My Instacart delivery was running over an hour and a half late and I canceled it cause I was frustrated and I cried for a good 15 minutes.
  • Ooh @babysavvy I’ve been emotional this time around too (didn’t have that with my other two). Yesterday I downright sobbed at a dog food commercial.
  • Thanks all for the advice. The constipation isn't too bad in that I am getting my bowels moved but definitely a constant bloated feeling with a looot of tiredness lol. Hoping this eases soon as I am sleeping 10+ hours a day and still feeling sleepy.
  • I know that tender nipples are a thing… but are hard nipples? Mine been hard for a couple of days now more than usual.
  • @babysavvy yes! My first time around it happened later on, I want to say mid 2nd tri. But this time it’s been happening since week 7/8.
  • I just feel so sick this morning. I had to complain to someone. It's like my whole body is shouting "welcome to week 9!"
  • 8 weeks I'm already so tired of the morning sickness.   Gas is my culprit and gasx can only help a tiny bit.  Constantly belching, constant nausea.   Can only eat plain carbs if I don't want regret within the hour.  I've tried all the remedies and only temporary success with some ginger tea and other tea with honey. The constipation just showed up but it's honestly not bothering me,  I just know it'll make the gas worse.

Tried tums, gasx, b6 with unisom (which was making me wanna sleep all day every day), ginger (sometimes works), and as a last ditch effort tried alkaline water because it was seeming like reflux and none of it is really doing much.  Best thing has been eat small amounts and only plain carbs.

I feel so bad for complaining,  but this is really difficult to deal with for me. I am not well at all this week.
  • @greyhoundjag don't feel bad for complaining. It's okay and healthy to share how you feel. I'm sorry nothing seems to help for now. If it's overwhelming, you should talk to your doctor. They might give you an IV of saline water if you are dehydrated from throwing up (from what I know, the more you throw up, the worse you'll feel making you throw up more... evil cycle).
  • @greyhoundjag Ya sound like me for the last 4+ weeks. The nausea is horrible and I could only initially stomach plain rice, potatoes, etc. I’m taking B6 twice daily and Unisom only at night. I’m honestly not sure if its helped or my body is just adjusting to sickness. It’s very tough. It feels lonely and started to get to me mentally. I had all day and night morning sickness since w6 and now I’m 10w5d. This week it has slowed a bit and I can tolerate more movement and foods, but I still get these waves. My doc prescribed me another pill but I was uncomfortable taking it. If you’re okay with trying new pills, talk to your doctor. At this point you’re just trying to survive.
  • @greyhound Also, jolly ranchers helped to sort of distract me from the nausea when I needed to move around or run errands. Nothing else consistently worked though.
  • Feel free to complain! It seriously sucks. I have had a few good hours during week 10, 11 weeks today. But then it comes back terribly. I also hate brushing my teeth now. I do find that the peppermints help when I’m out and I can taste the vomit coming up in the back of my throat. But nothing really helps. I try to avoid meds if I can honestly.
  • i’m unsure if anyone has heard of this symptom or had personal experience with it, but my awful first trimester symptom has been hives.

it started around week 7 and erupted over my chest, armpits, arms, neck, and even onto my face. by the end of the week, it was traveling down my waist.

because i’ve had such a hard time finding proper prenatal care, i decided to go to an urgent care clinic and that nurse practitioner told me i had to be miserable (which it has been awful), but she said i had a classic pregnancy rash/hives. apparently this is something she’s seen in those that are in their first pregnancy (which mine is).

my skin itches uncontrollably, it’s flaking off like i’ve never seen it before. and it’s pretty painful. she assured me that by the end of this first trimester, i should be feeling much better. i’m 11 weeks today so i assume the end is near (or so i hope).

has anyone experienced this symptom? and has anyone found anything that helps manage the symptoms? i’m someone who never has had bad skin problems and this is driving me crazy!
  • Anyone else have crazy dreams constantly while pregnant? I feel like both pregnancy insomnia and the crazy dreams have increased with every pregnancy for me. 😅

  • Vivid dreams every single night!
  • +1 to the vivid dreams! Between those and waking up to pee, I’m waking up exhausted already 😴
  • @runningyogimama Absolutely! And these dreams… they continue after I’ve woken up and go back to sleep, sometimes several times in one night! My brain will just not let them go!
  • I don't have any advice, but just acknowledge that hives constantly sounds so so difficult and I'm sorry you're having to deal with that.
  • So the nausea has continued to drive me crazy.  I'm not puking, but sometimes wonder if it'd feel better if I did.  So I'm not dehydrated for that reason,  but I am getting dehydrated by my perpetual need to nap. Hard to drink much at a time nauseated,  then can't hydrate if asleep.

Found drinks with sugar or honey help the nausea.  On Monday when we were home for the holiday/day off school I just let my son kinda play whatever he wanted as long as he was safe while I alternated position on the couch to watch him.  Researching remedies.   One lady had success with magnesium spray,  but said it caused itching so I found the product and some articles and found a Comparable non laxative magnesium supplement that I could get delivered that afternoon by Amazon, and I also decided to try the preggie pop drops plus, because they have b6 in them so I didn't feel like I was just getting a hard candy, which I'd already tried.
    These seem to help.

When desperation hit Monday I hunted down the sea bands that never worked for me, opened the window by the couch for the whole day, and just tried to survive through the day while my husband was out of the house.

Sleep helps.  And also the minty trident gum I had in my car has helped a few times this week so at least I'm finally finding a few temporary relief options because last week nothing I tried made any difference.

Mild cramps in my butt, hips, pelvis, and back. They come and go. 13 weeks today. Thoughts?
  • @babysavvy could be round ligament pain? Everything is stretching and it can be uncomfortable or even hurt.
