On and off nausea this week. I feel like it’s better but then it’s not. I’m having a “I’m starving” type of day, so I’ll take it. Last weekend I was nauseous and fatigued all weekend. I really hope I’m rounding the corner with this morning sickness crap. I’m 11 weeks now. Other than that my growing bump is getting harder to hide, since I don’t want to tell my staff yet. Luckily it’s still very cold and I can wear oversized sweaters.
My midwife requested I take more iron, after my blood work came back. So I’m adjusting to the digestive issues with that. I’m also getting more tired at work. I’m up and down from the floor all day because I work in a child care center and picking up babies to help them through the day. I worked there when I was pregnant with DS (4 yrs old), but that was also when I was in my 20s. Maybe its just the time/age difference between catching up to me.
Today seems to be a nauseous day, but it comes and go, I could sleep 24/7 if I could but unfortunately I have to work and we have a busy lifestyle. I also have bad tinnitus and post nasal drip and the flem/mucus in my throat has made me throw up multiple times and as someone who deals with it year round from allergies that’s definitely a pregnancy reaction. I think I have felt some flutters but not consistently yet
Headaches! Oof. I don't get them often so I feel shock when I get pregnant and have constant headaches. I'm trying to stay on top of my water, but I drink a lot less this pregnancy than I did before I had a toddler running around
I’ve been feeling lots of movements in my belly at unexpected times. Been tracking my sleep with my Fitbit and I am tossing and turning wayyy more than I ever did not pregnant. Little jabs here and there and pressure on different sides of my lower abdomen. Only thing that bothers me is when I speak to my friends/family who are already moms all they tell me is “wait till your in your last trimester, blah blah” all I want to tell them is NO SH*T AND SHUT UP. Do you think that’s going to make me feel better? Do you think that’s positive to tell a pregnant woman?? Yes ok you’ve gone through it but why? Why do people rub it in? Oh wait till you really can’t sleep you’ll be a zombie blah blah 😡
@lmn823 that drove me absolutely crazy, or the "just wait until you have a newborn if you think you can't sleep now". It's all so negative. I was actually so nervous to even have a baby towards the end due to all of the little comments I got throughout my pregnancy that I was so pleasantly surprised by how much I loved having a newborn, so there's a little positivity for you!
I’ve been getting headaches and lightheaded more now but I’m not sure if it’s because I’ve been wearing my hair up for so long or just hormones.
I also always hated those comments, especially since I love the newborn period the most! I’d take the sleepless newborn days over the early elementary age any day 😅
I’m 13 weeks and I’ve still been getting lots of nausea this week, headaches. Today I have the absolute worst brain fog, making it difficult to focus on work or much of anything else.
@lmn823 you haven’t hear anything yet. Once you’re in your third trimester they will be saying just wait until the baby gets here. You better sleep now. Blah blah blah. Like you can store up sleep or something. I actually sleep just fine during the newborn stage. It’s the first growth spurt that sucks because all the sleep patterns change.
MY HIPS HURT SO MUCH OVERNIGHT. I sleep on my side now (was a tummy/side sleeper but have gotten myself used to just being on my side by this point) and whichever side I'm on, that hip just absolutely KILLS after a few hours. It wakes me up and I have to flip over, sleep for two hours, and flip back...but don't seem to do it IN my sleep. So annoying. I remember my back hurting last time and so far that hasn't happened yet, knock on wood, but this is so irritating. I have a pregnancy pillow (never actually stopped using it from last time, it's a smaller c-shaped one so I've just used it as a body pillow ever since) but it's doing jack.
Sleeping in 3rd tri- I remember being so uncomfortable and just waiting to “not be pregnant anymore so I can get some sleep” and then had my son and he’s not a great sleeper and I was like wait a minute. This is worse 😂 and that exhaustion is mostly how we ended up bed sharing.
But all unsolicited advice and one-uping woes is super annoying and unhelpful. Share helpful tips with parents-to-be. Not fake pregnancy is magical and sunshine, but unless someone asks specifically to tell you all the worst bits, there has to be some middle ground.
I think pregnancy brain is getting me again. I’ve made some careless errors at work that are not a big deal, but inconvenient for everyone. Whoops. What vitamin helps with memory?? Lol
For me pregnancy sleeping problems were worse than having a newborn. Because with baby you get up and then you crash when they go back down. With pregnancy you just can’t sleep. Also you have help from your partner or friend or mom hopefully. I took a Benadryl my whole third trimester last time because I had terrible sciatica and couldn’t ever get comfortable at night. My new pattern now at 12w is waking up around 2 to pee and then staying up for an hour or two before falling back to sleep. So tired every morning and have headaches.
I had sciatic pain laying in bed the other night. It’s ridiculously early for that. I really hope it doesn’t persist. I’ll probably end up at the PT at some point.
People suck and you know what every pregnancy is different so even though I have done this before this one is a brand new fucking ball game! Wanna hear some crazy… I was considering buying a vet ultrasound from Amazon so I could se what’s going on… you would think that I know better 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️
Why can’t people just say “I’m sorry, that sounds really hard. I hope you are able to get some extra rest in on the weekend” or “I remember those days. Want me to take your kid for a play date with my kid that kept me up all those years ago so you can nap on the weekend?” Or “Ugh, that really sucks, eh?” And just leave it at that?!
My nausea today has been the worst it’s ever been. I think I forgot to take my Diclectin after tap class last night. I sneezed earlier today and it made me dry heave.
I think I’ve been feeling some movement over the last day, but I’m not sure yet. You’d think I’d remember from my first pregnancy, but not really. I just remember the annoying hiccups and him scraping his foot under my ribs. These early movements are harder to say for sure.
Morning sickness came back last night and this morning after a few days of not eating oranges. Didn’t throw up but came close. I had SO pick up more oranges but I’m seriously so sick of oranges. It also taking all my energy to keep my eyes open, caffeine isn’t doing anything. I have a whole house to clean but I think I’m going to turn on master chef and lay on the couch with DS
Nausea is back just in the late afternoon and evening now, the past couple days. I thought I was finally over it but I guess not. I also have a cold. Boo!
Seems like all of us are still struggling with lingering nausea. Haven’t thrown up in over a week and today I threw up 4 times and the only thing I’ve kept down is some bbq pringles🙃
I have the grossest symptom right now. My body is creating an insane amount of discharge and it’s clumpy and I need to start wearing panty liners and I’m guilty of forgetting so I go through two pairs of panties a day.
I thought I would be lucky and get to keep my one cup of coffee a day, but nope this past week the smell is delicious, mouthwatering. . . But nauseous after a sip. And takes forever to go away
@lmn823 TMI but it looked like I lost some mucus plug the other day. It regenerates so I’m not worried but I have never had this happen so early. Lots of discharge is normal throughout pregnancy so I wouldn’t be concerned.
I’m still incredibly gassy, constipated and nauseated. I still don’t enjoy the taste of food but have to put something in my mouth every 3 hours or the nausea worsens. Daily headaches, but they seem to come and go. Still waiting to start enjoying life again 😬
@estadt acupressure helps me a little for headaches - I just googled "acupressure for headaches" and tried a couple of the points. I've also taken a tylenol a couple of times when it's been really bad.
@pinkivy81 so sorry you're still not feeling well! Definitely feel you on the gas/constipation.
@estadt I take only one Tylenol and try to hydrate and close my eyes whenever possible but it isn’t helping hahaha. I currently have one that has been present for over 12 hours despite already sleeping 7 hours at night.
@estadt hydration for me is key, the minute I feel any headache coming on I will chug some water, if I have some electrolytes on hand I’ll mix some in. Also, my headaches are very sinusy. I notice rubbing out my face and it’s pressure points (eye sockets, sides of noses, temples) really helps if you don’t want to take medication.
I can barely stay hydrated. I guzzle water all day long. Now I’m struggling to drink it unless it’s flavored. Also, my stomach looks less pregnant than I have been. I’m assuming it’s just my body letting go of the bloat. I checked baby on the doppler and he still has a really strong HB. So all is good.
@estadt my headaches seem to be sleep related. If I have some caffeine that takes care of the mid-day headaches. At night I just have to go to bed. I realize though that if I can get a nap in, I don’t have headaches at night.
I have also had relief from a warm epsom salt bath. In the past I’ve done lavender oil across my forehead simba style but I’ve ran out and haven’t ordered more yet.
@emeraldcity603 I’ve also been noticing that the bloat has been going away some at least for most of the day. By nighttime though I feel huge again lol
@emeraldcity603 did you already have a Doppler or purchase one? I wanted to buy one but then I don’t want the paranoia of not finding the heartbeat so I’m just torn
@lmn823 I have had the same doppler since I was pregnant with my 8 year old. So it’s super old but works fine. It’s a gamble because it can cause anxiety if you can’t find the FHB. I struggle with this baby because he is hiding behind the placenta.
@estadt I get awful hormonal headaches in pregnancy. My doctor told me to take 500 mg magnesium and a calcium supplement in addition to Tylenol. The magnesium really seems to help me. Hope it helps you!

chugging water seem to have filled my 32oz yeti 5 times now. And add a liquid in to one of them
have tried massaging neck and sinuses as normally that’s my issue
wish I could go to bed just 4 more hours of work

I too want to buy a Doppler but afraid of not finding the heartbeat and being paranoid.
