Re: December Symptoms

  • What do you all do for nausea and morning sickness? I’m trying sea bands (they helped in my second pregnancy), and ginger and peppermint. I feel worse each day and I’m feeling bad almost all day long.

  • @beccajeans1991 for my first two pregnancies I got by with just ginger chews and lots of small snacks and Gravol every once in a while if really bad (per my doctor). But for my third the only thing that helped was prescription Diclectin (I think it’s so-called Diclegis in the States). I took it from about 9 weeks? until 24 weeks. I never vomited, but I had 24/7 debilitating nausea. I could barely function and sleeping was really difficult because of it.
  • @BeccaJeans1991 I try to eat a little bit of food constantly. Some days are easier than others but I bought like granola bars and things like that to nibble on. It doesn’t take it completely away but it allows me to be upright at least. I’m also a SAHM so I’ve been resting as much as possible
  • Anyone else take 2 naps yesterday or just me? 😂 This first trimester tired struggle is real!
  • @BeccaJeans1991 Protein shake in the morning helps. I bought some morning sickness hard candies last time that helped. Also bought them this time but haven’t used them yet, probably need them today. I also live in Michigan so this may be stereotypical but Vernors. 😂 I have Zevia in the fridge at the moment that I sipped on yesterday.

I was going to add, going back to work after next week is going to be a trip. I’ve mostly just been home with the kids and able to chill when I don’t feel well. So not excited as this nausea gets worse every day.

  • @gingermama29 I'm am exhausted today. I was so chipper on our walk this morning with my toddler on my back. Then I got home. Felt dizzy and nauseous and now exhausted since I got back. Booo

  • It’s okay to feel anxious! Hope you know you have the support from us!
  • @gingermama29 I haven’t taken an actual nap but I did lay on the couch for 2 hours while the kids did quiet time and the littles napped. I’m also ready for bed by 9 every night. I usually stay up until midnight.

I wore actual pants yesterday and I could finally feel the bloat. My pants were digging into my abdomen pretty hard. I’m also crying all the time. I’m a mess emotionally. My poor kids keep asking what’s wrong. I’m taking them with me to my first ultrasound this Tuesday so I guess they will find out. I won’t be keeping the pregnancy a secret once they know. They go around telling everyone all of our business. 🙄 I’m still nursing my last baby and every time he nurses I have mild cramping. I’m hoping that stops soon.
  • @gingermama29 i slept for two hours during toddler nap time today. I could’ve slept way more! We’ve been doing a ton of social time with friends in town but I need like 4 hours of recovery between activities. We’ve also been eating out a lot which has not been good on my stomach. I feel like I’m constantly full, but then I get hunger pangs. It’s annoying!!
  • @novelblessings I was born in Ohio, so I try to have Vernors too, because it is the actual best! But that is assuming I can find it way down here in SC. I’ve been drinking ginger beer, and that helps sometimes, but not always.
Never tried a protein shake. Is there a certain kind you’d suggest?
  • @BeccaJeans1991 Not sure it really matters. I have using a brand called baby booster. I found it last time and it was a life saver so I bought it again. That and anything dairy seems helpful.
I actually don’t do dairy not pregnant but something about being pregnant and I want milk, yougurt, and cheese 🤷🏻‍♀️
