TTC can be a long journey naturally, then add in the difficulties associated with infertility, and it becomes a whole new ballgame. The road to infertility can be lonely, frustrating, and complicated, so let's make this a place where we can vent, ask questions, and support one another. Diagnosis (if you've been): uncooperative uterus/RLP, chronic endometritis

Status (TI/ICI/IUI/IVF/FET/benched): benched but WTO

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): 3rd and hopefully final biospy on 10/27. taking prenatals again, and extra folic acid, baby aspirin and a probiotic. will start progesterone supp after O.

How are things going?: they are going, today started out really good and then kind of went downhill with work crap. it's gloomy and making me tired tbh.

@anniemarie887 sorry to hear that work stuff yesterday was sucky!

Diagnosis (if you've been): bad eggs and all the rest

Status (TI/ICI/IUI/IVF/FET/benched): benched till my FET in Feb.

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): living my best life without fistfuls of supplements for as long as i think i can get away with it.

How are things going?: fine, i guess. my updates are gonna pretty pretty low-info for a while. my only news is that i am presently having like the longest cycle in my living memory, i'm at 30 days now which is just not a thing in my world. guessing the flu i had at the beginning of my cycle plus general post-ER hormonal wildness is to blame.

Any questions?: nah

GTKY: What is the best book you've read in 2022? I really enjoyed Abdulrazak Gunah's After Life.

@anniemarie887 holding my breath for your upcoming biopsy. Hope today is a better day for you.
@optimistgardener heyyyy high five on taking a supplement break. It's a LOT.

Diagnosis (if you've been): PCOS, RPL, RIF, some MFI

Status (TI/ICI/IUI/IVF/FET/benched): ehhhh at this rate just WFAF

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): I'm regretting not taking the BCP. Even my naturopath suggested that while she supported my desire to try to let my body have a break and regulate my cycles on my own, there's something to be said about BCP and PCOS because it can help lower androgens.

How are things going?: Considering I'm on CD47, no sign of AF, BFN on the few tests I've taken, I'm just over it. Having the worst hot flashes today, and I have yet another cold sore almost exactly a month after my last one, so I really don't know what my body is doing.

Any questions?: Nah.

GTKY: What is the best book you've read in 2022? Heh, I had every intention of reading more this year but instead all I did was re-read some old favourites. The Protector of the Small quartet by Tamora Pierce surprised me, I vaguely remember reading it when it came out but I enjoyed it a lot more this time around.

@optimistgardener ooo I'm right there with you with taking a supplement break. All those pills at all the times of the day is exhausting.

@kiki047 Ugh sorry for the loooong cycle! When she does finally show, will you start BC for your next cycle? or are you almost ready for another transfer?

Diagnosis (if you've been): evaporated egg supply, LPD

Status (TI/ICI/IUI/IVF/FET/benched): TI/Waiting for DE.

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): Nothing exciting. Started my period yesterday, which is one day after I stopped Progesterone supps. My body was like NOPE nope nope.

How are things going?: They're going. My updates will be pretty boring for a while as well. We need to watch this IVF module and schedule a counseling session before the end of the year. Then I guess once my new insurance kicks in, we can get the ball rolling. Yesterday my H and I took the day off work and went wine tasting in Napa. We took our puppy who was actually really really good! This is definitely a Mondayish Tuesday with lots to catch up on at work.

TMI: but peed on an OPK today and it felt so weird to think about being able to do something to even try after the last 7 months.

@bearmomma1 planning on another FET cycle, guess we'll find out soon enough because we manifested AF into existence after I posted my update lol. I go for baseline appt tomorrow.
@anniemarie887 it feels weird to cheer for other people peeing on things but I'm legit excited for you

I heard something weird in my clinic's FB group yesterday and I've already paged our resident expert @acleverusername but I'm going to put this out to TTGP-land and any lurkers that might also see this...
Apparently my RE claims that PGT-A without doing ICSI is unreliable because in traditional IVF the rest of the sperm that didn't fertilize the egg can get stuck to the outside and leave behind DNA fragments on the trophoctoderm at blastocyst stage, and can therefore contaminate the biopsy. Clever put it out to /r/AskEmbryologist and we got some interesting answers but it feels like my RE is using that generalization to push patients to pay for the ICSI add-on.

I should note that we use ICSI because of MFI so it's not really an issue for us but I'm annoyed nonetheless.

@kiki047 i am equally as excited for you that AF showed up!

biopsy done - it actually, dare i say, didn't hurt at all. my RE said that should be a good indicator the endometritis is cleared up. she said she has never personally had a patient need a 3rd round. so let's hope i'm not her first!!!

@anniemarie887 well that's a nice change for a painless biopsy.

Went in for monitoring this morning and had a good long chat with my Dr. He still thinks surrogacy is our "best" path to a THB but he understands why I am not ready to go that route yet. We talked protocols and test results and he said he's tried all his tricks on me and nothing is working. We agreed to go back to basics, but first I asked about a myomectomy. My fibroid is like 9cm++ now, and although it's subserosal (on the outside of my uterus), he said anything bigger than 5cm can impact blood flow, etc. So I have a surgery date of Dec 2nd, then I need to wait 3 months until we can transfer again. My heart hurts at the thought of not being able to do anything for at least 5 months from now, it feels like an eternity, but at the same time I want to know that I'm doing absolutely everything in my power to prepare my body to carry our own child so that's where we're at.

I was excited this morning but now I'm second guessing myself. DH is turning 40 next year, he's terrified we'll never be parents and as the years go on it's feeling more and more like we're going to end up childless-not-by-choice because we'll run out of options. I know it's not too late to consider surrogacy or adoption, but those aren't without their own challenges. I feel robbed of the literal essence of life - to be able to procreate.

@kiki047 ugh, i am so sorry. i hope that the date for surgery is easy to secure and that the surgery itself goes well. i am happy to chat about my own experience of the surgery or recovery at any point. i'm hopeful though that your recovery will be comparatively easy, since it won't require cutting through the uterine wall.
