@bearmomma1 - As a cyclist, I say thank you for helping the guy! I had a spectacular crash myself on a bike path (downhill at about 15 MPH). Fortunately, I was okay given all my tuck and roll skills. The runner that saw me and checked on me said it was 'surprisingly graceful'. It's very disorienting, though.
@abjm0325 - My house has a policy of "if it doesn't have pockets, it does not exist" with respect to leggings... haha That said, most of the leggings I love are sports-related and possibly compression tights. 'Curves and Combat Boots' is the brand that I love since they're military community women make leggings, but theirs are about halfway between nylons and knitwear. They're really great quality for sports and working out, but usually more than folks are looking for around the house? The fact that they offer one legged leggings for amputees just makes me happy to support them.
Otherwise, I am living in a pair of sweat pants I got from target at the moment. I legit bought 5 pairs once I realized how amazingly comfortable they were.

We've had some interesting shit happen around here over the years. We had a catfish a couple years ago too, who was outed after someone figured out that she had been on here before then making up all kinds of shit for attention, and although it turned out she really was who she said she was (confirmed via her IG profile), it was made clear that she was no longer welcome here because we couldn't trust that anything she said was actually true this time. *TW* Now she's back, and on the March BMB, acting as though she didn't cause a huge ruckus when she was kicked out.

Well, since a few of you are curious about the mass exodus, I'll explain it here (mind you, this is all based on some deep lurking) **TW: late-term loss mentioned**
**ETA: one grammatical error and corrected the length of time since this incident.
The May 2014 BMB had a member who experienced a late-term loss, and in support, the group decided to raise money for a keepsake gift for the mom and a charity donation in the baby's name. One of the BMB members volunteered to collect the money and deliver it to the mom who had the loss, but weeks/months passed and the mom and charity never received anything. The BMB demanded the collector show proof of donation, and all they got was proof of a $25 donation and a picture of a poorly-Photoshopped receipt. The group found out that the collector used the money for her own benefit, purchasing items off her own baby registry. A BMB member started a thread explaining what happened and other members replied with shock and rage. Someone alerted a different site about the situation, and that site wrote an article decrying the "toxic," "bullying" atmosphere of TB, focusing on how a few comments called for violence and insulted the collector's alleged socioeconomic status. (It looks like the article has been scrubbed from the Internet, but the thread is still visible. You can definitely see a few comments that allude to violence or mention "poor white trash." One comment--an alleged secondhand comment from a poster's SO--alludes to sexual violence.) The article didn't seem to care about the fact that the "bullying victim" stole money from a grieving mother. It seems like this was the flashpoint for TB to make radical changes to its community, implementing strict posting/content/tone guidelines and employing their own moderators. If you look at pre-2015 TB, the moderators are all regular users and the snarky overtone is pervasive. Not anymore. A lot of the "old guard," if you will, were either banned or left TB.
So is an incident from eight years ago the reason why TB is a ghost town? If you ask me, that's only part of the story: as I explained in last week's randoms, there are a lot of online pregnancy communities nowadays, a lot of which are mobile-first. TB's mobile app is not great and the format sometimes feels stuck in the late 2000s-early 2010s when TB was in its heyday. The forums used to be more active when there were more users here (there was also an unfortunate bullying scandal in the LGBT forum), but now that there are fewer active users, there are a lot of dead-looking forums...which can lead a casual user to believe this community is not worth sticking around. Plus, you can't ignore the contribution of historically low birth rates.
@hestia-is-wearie dude, that is some novel-worthy material right there. thank you for the excellent overview. i've been curious, but not that curious to dig into the archives. This saves me from a rabbithole adventure! But also it makes me think someone actually maybe should write something serious about these forums. they're an interesting space for a lot of reasons.

One of the reasons I really like it here is probably because of what I am guessing are the strict guidelines. I'm too beleaguered by other stress in my life to read the same 10 questions/responses and lose the message. The emotional toll is exhausting. I am sad to see that the LGBT+ community seems to have dried up, but it looked like the military community board was still active. (Though as the pregnant one, rather than the preg. spouse, I'll still be a minority if/when.) TTC has the burden of being the first forum, so you have to take the time to read the community standards and act accordingly. That means demonstrating that you have emotional intelligence and compassion for others in order to join the discussion, so that's actually rather impressive for an online environment.
I dunno, the board goes through periods of busyness then when the core group graduates it drops off again, and so on and so forth. I think what sets us apart is we actually form real connections and it isn't just a bunch of one-offs that strangers reply to and there isn't any follow up. This format isn't for everyone, it's certainly more of a time commitment but it's also so much more rewarding. It's hard though, for most people TTGP is just a season of life that they pass through, some stay longer than others, but ultimately the goal is to move on. I can't speak for the rest of the board but this particular forum will always be fairly transient which is why I'm even more grateful for the many, many friendships I've formed over the years, not just with the IF ladies who tend to stick around longer, but the ones that leave lasting impressions because they really take the time to get invested in this special little corner of the internet.

I like and miss the daily/weekly GTKY threads too, I find that they're a little better at stimulating conversation. Maybe not the UOs or the FFFCs but Fur Baby Friday is always a popular one.

Hi friends! *tw* Been a month since I've been on here after my CP and I'm not really quite sure where to add this in so I'm throwing it in the random thread. you guys, this week has sucked. i lost a beloved family member very suddenly earlier this week, and that has taken up most of my heart and brain. also this is really small fry in the big scheme of things but just now, a friend i haven't seen or spoken to in a long while (but who nevertheless knows a bit about my ttc struggles, because i've been at it for a loooong while) write me out of the blue to congratulate me on my pregnancy. she had woefully misread a social media post (i am as you all know very much not pregnant). i had to be like, nope, still hella infertile, but headed in for a fifth egg retrieval cycle tomorrow so there's that. anyhow, i am tired.

I am doing this on my own. Left ovary and fallopian tube removed due to cyst/necrosis just after birth. Right ovary and tube still purport to function.

Nov. '19 attempted myomectomy (vaginal approach) failed. 2nd surgery using laparoscopic method in Jan '20 is successful.

I just found out a friend is PG. She had her own struggles and had her first baby about a year ago. And then surprisingly found herself pregnant again. Will it ever get easier learning about others pregnancies?

@abjm0325 - My house has a policy of "if it doesn't have pockets, it does not exist" with respect to leggings... haha That said, most of the leggings I love are sports-related and possibly compression tights. 'Curves and Combat Boots' is the brand that I love since they're military community women make leggings, but theirs are about halfway between nylons and knitwear. They're really great quality for sports and working out, but usually more than folks are looking for around the house? The fact that they offer one legged leggings for amputees just makes me happy to support them.
Otherwise, I am living in a pair of sweat pants I got from target at the moment. I legit bought 5 pairs once I realized how amazingly comfortable they were.

Well, since a few of you are curious about the mass exodus, I'll explain it here
**ETA: one grammatical error and corrected the length of time since this incident.
The May 2014 BMB had a member who experienced a late-term loss, and in support, the group decided to raise money for a keepsake gift for the mom and a charity donation in the baby's name. One of the BMB members volunteered to collect the money and deliver it to the mom who had the loss, but weeks/months passed and the mom and charity never received anything. The BMB demanded the collector show proof of donation, and all they got was proof of a $25 donation and a picture of a poorly-Photoshopped receipt. The group found out that the collector used the money for her own benefit, purchasing items off her own baby registry.
A BMB member started a thread explaining what happened and other members replied with shock and rage. Someone alerted a different site about the situation, and that site wrote an article decrying the "toxic," "bullying" atmosphere of TB, focusing on how a few comments called for violence and insulted the collector's alleged socioeconomic status. (It looks like the article has been scrubbed from the Internet, but the thread is still visible. You can definitely see a few comments that allude to violence or mention "poor white trash." One comment--an alleged secondhand comment from a poster's SO--alludes to sexual violence.) The article didn't seem to care about the fact that the "bullying victim" stole money from a grieving mother.
It seems like this was the flashpoint for TB to make radical changes to its community, implementing strict posting/content/tone guidelines and employing their own moderators. If you look at pre-2015 TB, the moderators are all regular users and the snarky overtone is pervasive. Not anymore. A lot of the "old guard," if you will, were either banned or left TB.
So is an incident from eight years ago the reason why TB is a ghost town? If you ask me, that's only part of the story: as I explained in last week's randoms, there are a lot of online pregnancy communities nowadays, a lot of which are mobile-first. TB's mobile app is not great and the format sometimes feels stuck in the late 2000s-early 2010s when TB was in its heyday. The forums used to be more active when there were more users here (there was also an unfortunate bullying scandal in the LGBT forum), but now that there are fewer active users, there are a lot of dead-looking forums...which can lead a casual user to believe this community is not worth sticking around. Plus, you can't ignore the contribution of historically low birth rates.

As for today's quiet-ness, TB decided to remove my love it and reply buttons for a significant portion of the day, so maybe others have had the same issue. 🙄
One of the reasons I really like it here is probably because of what I am guessing are the strict guidelines. I'm too beleaguered by other stress in my life to read the same 10 questions/responses and lose the message. The emotional toll is exhausting. I am sad to see that the LGBT+ community seems to have dried up, but it looked like the military community board was still active. (Though as the pregnant one, rather than the preg. spouse, I'll still be a minority if/when.) TTC has the burden of being the first forum, so you have to take the time to read the community standards and act accordingly. That means demonstrating that you have emotional intelligence and compassion for others in order to join the discussion, so that's actually rather impressive for an online environment.

I dunno, the board goes through periods of busyness then when the core group graduates it drops off again, and so on and so forth. I think what sets us apart is we actually form real connections and it isn't just a bunch of one-offs that strangers reply to and there isn't any follow up. This format isn't for everyone, it's certainly more of a time commitment but it's also so much more rewarding. It's hard though, for most people TTGP is just a season of life that they pass through, some stay longer than others, but ultimately the goal is to move on. I can't speak for the rest of the board but this particular forum will always be fairly transient which is why I'm even more grateful for the many, many friendships I've formed over the years, not just with the IF ladies who tend to stick around longer, but the ones that leave lasting impressions because they really take the time to get invested in this special little corner of the internet.

Sep '19: 2nd IUI, same protocol - BFN (MH: 16mil)
Dec '19: IVF #1 w/ICSI, PGT. 5 retrieved, 4 fertilized, 3 blasts, 3 PGT-A normal.
Mar '20: FET #1, perfect 5AA blast transferred. BFN.
Sept '20: FET #2, 5BB tsf. 9/18/20 BFP!! EDD: 5/27/21. MMC 11w
Feb ‘21: FET #3, last 6BB blast transferred. BFP, EDD 11/2/21. MC 5w3d.
May '21: IVF #2 w/ICSI, PGT. 8R, 7M, 6F, 6 blasts - 3AB, 3AB, 3BB, 4BB, 5BB, 6BA. Fresh tsf 5/13/21 - BFN.
June '21: PGT-A results = 3 abnormal, 1 low level mosaic. Referred to new REI, had consult with 2nd RE in between.
Sept '21: RPL, immune testing normal
Oct '21: IVF #3 w/IMSI, PGT. 33R, 26M, 23F, 9 blasts (7 day 6, 2 day 7). PGT-A = 5 normal, 1 mosaic
Dec '21: Positive for endometritis, RX Flagyl & Keflex
Jan '22: FET #5 - Kitchen sink immune/RIF protocol incl. PRP, intralipids, prednisone, medrol, nivestym, fragmin - CP
Feb '22: FET #6 - Kitchen sink immune/RIF protocol w/higher doses of pred & fragmin - BFN
Mar '22: Mock cycle for ERA - cancelled, repeat endometrial biopsy instead. Still positive for endometritis. RX ciprofloxacin & amoxicillin.
Apr '22: IVF #4 w/IMSI, PGT. 28R, 23M, 16F, 11 blasts. PGT-A = 6 normal.
June '22: FET #7 - Microdose lupron downreg w/kitchen sink immune/RIF protocol - double embryo transfer. BFN.
July '22: FET #8 - Mini stim w/Puregon + trigger, kitchen sink immune/RIF protocol. BFN.
Sep '22: Taking a break
Dec '22: Attempted abdominal myomectomy, fibroid too close to cervix and major blood vessels. Wasn't removed.
Feb '23: FET #9 - Modified natural w/baby asp, HCG trigger, PIO, PRP, Medrol, HCG wash, embryo glue - BFP!! EDD 11/11/23
Oct '21 somewhat improved AMH (.51) and significantly improved FSH (8.9). Maybe it's all the pills I swallow.
Dec -21, standard antagonist. 225menupur/225gonal-f/cetrotide/5000u trigger, AFC 5; 11 days of stims. retrieval yields 5, 4M, 2 reach day-6 blast (4AB & 4BB). 1 low-level mosaic (chr. 3 deletion), 1 complex abnormal.
Feb '22 FET (low-level mosaic): CP.
May '22 egg retrieval, lupron flare protocol. HGH priming for 1 month before stims; md lupron 20/20u daily; menopur 225, follistim 225, 10k trigger after 8 days of stims; AFC 10; 13 retrieved; 10 mature; 8 fertilized. All frozen at 2PN for later thaw, grow, and biopsy.
July '22 egg retrieval same protocol: 9 days of stims; AFC 8; 10 retrieved, 8 mature, 4 fertilized and frozen.
Sept '22 ER same protocol: AFC 10; 12 retrieved, 11 mature, 11 fertilized.
From the 3 retrievals, 7 survived to day 5-6 blastocyst, from which I have 2 normal embryos!

Been a month since I've been on here after my CP and I'm not really quite sure where to add this in so I'm throwing it in the random thread.
I will be saying adios to you all for a while...my husband and I are divorcing and therefore, I am not ttgp at the moment. It's bittersweet. I want a family so bad, but I also want it with the right person. I think the universe was trying to tell me something with the two MCs. We just were deep down not compatable. I wish you all the best in your journeys. Hopefully I'll be back here in time.

also this is really small fry in the big scheme of things but just now, a friend i haven't seen or spoken to in a long while (but who nevertheless knows a bit about my ttc struggles, because i've been at it for a loooong while) write me out of the blue to congratulate me on my pregnancy. she had woefully misread a social media post (i am as you all know very much not pregnant). i had to be like, nope, still hella infertile, but headed in for a fifth egg retrieval cycle tomorrow so there's that.
anyhow, i am tired.

I just found out a friend is PG. She had her own struggles and had her first baby about a year ago. And then surprisingly found herself pregnant again. Will it ever get easier learning about others pregnancies?

DS born Sept 2020. DS passed away Nov 2020 due to prematurity and birth trauma.

AMH test came back at .081. Was going to move on to IVF with DE, but have decided not to. Will be leaving it up to the universe now.
