August Symptoms

Re: August Symptoms

  • I'm having this right now. I spoke to my doctor today and she said to have MFM look there on the ultrasound. I've gotten stuck on the couch from the pain for upwards of half an hour. I've never experienced round ligament pain that was one sided and lasted that long. I'm guessing it's pelvic girdle pain but I don't know. It SUCKS.
  • @krysnicole1022 Brutal! Relieved mine didn't last as long as that. I'm torn on if I should page my midwife since baby is moving normally and the pain subsided

  • @krthouse I have that! Often from turning over in bed, but it is painful enough that it makes me catch my breath and it can last for what feels like 15-20 seconds. At my US last week the tech had me turn back and forth a bunch because baby wasn’t cooperating, and I was dealing with those pains the entire time. My ob said just round ligament pain. Very uncomfortable though!!
  • @serenejellybean That's super reassuring. Thank you!
  • I’m 30+3 today and noticed a bit of clear leaking from both nipples. I’m assuming this is normal, but have no real idea as a FTM. Anyone else?
  • @katiekins029 Yep, that's normal. It may get progressively more thick and yellow as you get closer to your due date. It's colostrum coming in!
  • @krthouse thank you! It took me by surprise haha.
  • Mine is more orangey-yellow than yellow yellow but same.
  • @stephers_ did the doctor say there was a way to prevent and treat the melisma?
  • Here’s a gross one I’ve never experienced. Round ligament varicose vein. I literally woke up with a golfball there. Idk what I’m supposed to do bc it’s super achy when I stand but listed as the “typically revolves after delivery”
  • Anyone experienced heart palpitations? I’ve had them happen on and off for years, but they’re definitely kicked up in frequency now.
  • @katiekins029 i have had them but it is related to low blood sugar.
  • @katiekins029 I get the heart palpitations time to time. Infact, that was one of my first symptoms to knowing I was pregnant (before I could even take a test). Seems it's pretty normal but of course talk to your doctor if you feel you should. I still get the racing heart time to time. Breathe thru it and take it easy, it passes.

Ugh - blood pressure has been up and down and mostly up.  Last Thursday my feet/ankles were swollen when  I was going to bed but I just thought it was a day on my feet.  Woke up Friday and they weren't better and I couldn't take off my wedding ring (I've been doing it daily just to check how my fingers were doing swelling-wise).  I called the OBGYN and with my BP issues they said go to the hospital!!!!!  Everything's fine, baby and I are both doing okay.  Yesterday at my appointment they said we're probably going to deliver a little earlier than the 39 weeks we'd thought.  I'm excited but suddenly we're at just under 5 weeks away, and I am feeling WAY under-prepared! Gah.  I've been checking the boards every once in a while, just not up to posting or doing much of anything, but I'm glad I have a group of October moms to freak out to.  Thanks ladies.
  • @rcgw oh boy! Thinking of you mama! Also in that realization phase of how soon things are. Due date is 5 weeks from today!
  • @rcgw @krthouse No kidding it's coming up so fast now. Time is flying by for me. I still don't have the nursery organized. 😂

@katiekins029 I've had heart palpitations too and my doc said it was low blood pressure for me. I'm supposed to hydrate a bunch and take it slow when getting up or laying down.
