    Hi, ladies -

Discovered something at today's 16 week ultrasound that may help some of you.

I learned I have not just one small fibroid, but two (chances of having fibroids increase with age; I'm in my 40s; both smaller than 4cm). One of the fibroids partially blocks my cervix, so it may be the reason why I had an emergency c-section with my first (came in to the hospital at 8cm, so it was always a mystery).

My OB suggested I have a planned c-section this time.
Anyone else experienced something like this (fibroid restricting the cervix)?
I always wanted to experience natural birth, but the chances are looking slim now. But as long as the baby is healthy, I'm still ecstatic.

    Best wishes, all!

    @miracleshappen04
I had emergency c-section with my 1st, then again with my 2nd (breach), so I had.to be scheduled for my 3rd, 4th, and this baby (5th). You'll stay in hospital longer, and it's a bit longer of a recovery, but you'll pick baby's birthday and it helps with scheduling. Talk to the hospital/ob about what to expect, when can you hold baby and nurse, etc. I've found different states have different rules. I've got to experience l&d through family and friends. Having a positive perspective is helpful!

On another note, tomorrow is ultrasound day for me! 14w1d and I'm so excited to see baby!!
  • @klamsb5 I payed for my ultrasound last week at 15 weeks it's defiantly a boy!! He cooperated perfectly! Drink some coke before you go.
  • Hi congrats on your healthy wiggly baby :) If you’re willing to share, i was wanting to know more about your experiences with a posterior pelvis as my first child is due late January and I’ve yet to ask the doctor more about it, thanks!!
  • 🥰 I had a missed miscarriage in April and on my first ultrasound in June I cried the moment I saw that heartbeat 💓 it’s like all the worry juts leaks out of you. Congratulations mama!!
  • I was also told I had a retroverted uterus when trying for my first. After that pregnancy, all my OBs have said it’s now no longer posterior (not sure why that is). Usually has no affect on pregnancy so don’t worry too much. 😉

  • Awww @cc_clark so happy you got to see your little nugget! I totally get what you mean about husbands, too. They’re visual beasts, and it’s always nice to have something “concrete” they can connect with after all these weeks.
  • Baby Girl is growing right on track - a few days ahead - and everything looks great!! 21w1d
  • How you post to this discussion?
  • We aren't finding out the gender but we want all the guesses. I'm 22 almost 23 weeks. What do you think..boy or girl?
  • Looks like a girl but it's a boy boom now so??
  • 24w1d At our fetal echo, measuring 82nd percentile and looking great.

  • Already in love with this little guy! 27 Weeks.
