@abjm0325 remind me again, do you have any MFI concerns? If not, IUI doesn't drastically increase your chances, just removes any potential barriers like CM, or as our friend @acleverusername says, "wandering sperm" who are maybe directionally challenged. I'd say starting with Clomid and TI is enough for now.

@mambo5-2 congrats on being PUPO! Hope that's a sticky little bean.

AFM, womp womp, despite two negative RATs two days in a row, my symptoms got a whole lot worse yesterday and after being miserable with a fever of 102 all afternoon I took another test last night and it was positive. Thankfully my symptoms are fairly mild, all things considered, and I'm grateful this didn't happen during an active treatment cycle. Now I just have to make sure DH doesn't catch it so we can leave for Vegas on Sunday as planned, or else his whole team has to forfeit their bowling tournament Mon/Tues and it's a LOT of money down the drain and literally 3 years of anticipation since they didn't go in 2020 or 2021. I'm holed up in the guest room with my air purifier, mask, and a whole lotta lysol. FX we can make it. I know it's possible. I'd say it's probably a good thing I had AF all weekend so it's not like we were all hot and heavy so hopefully that translates to him being spared since we were sure to isolate and wear masks at home as soon as I developed any symptoms Monday morning.

@kiki047 i'm so sorry! i hope it stays mild for you, it is literally EVERYWHERE right now. i know more ppl who have tested positive in the last month than have not. take it easy, hydrate!! and rest!!

@kiki047 Oh no! As a fellow recent sufferer I can certainly commiserate. Delsym worked well for the cough if you are unlucky enough to have one. I hope you are still able to travel! As for me and DH, no MFI concerns as of now. I appreciate the confirmation that waiting on the IUI isn't too out of line.

@rockstarmomma152 It was me! Thank you for all of that information and insight. This really is the best board. I'm nervous about the possible side effects with clomid, but I know it is worth a try. I'm certainly keeping an open mind about IUI, but I feel okay for now waiting a few more months before that step.

@kiki047 argh, that's crap about Covid! Could be that your immune system was depressed from the Prednisone, so hopefully YH doesn't get it. What are the rules for flying out right now? Do you need to show a negative test? I don't want to freak you out, but I tested positive for 10 days and it was finally a negative on the 11th day. That said, I had crazy fatigue so I wouldn't call my symptoms mild (sleeping14-16 hours a day really isn't).

@abjm0325 in my unprofessional opinion, since - like you said - you're able to get KUed, trying a cycle or 2 of just Clomid could be worth it. As for side effects, some (i.e. me) don't get any. Others (i.e. mambo) get crazy hot flashes, rage-y mood, etc. So, you really won't know until you try it. FWIW, many doctors go straight to Letrazole because of fewer side-effects.

Also, @anniemarie887, I'm anxiously awaiting an update after your RE appointment.

Oh, and @bearmomma1, Letrazole can cause a false-positive OPK. Found this out from my RE last December. Apparently you need to wait ~3 days after last pill. Oddly, there's not a lot of information about this on Google as I remember searching about it after my RE told me, and I couldn't find much.

womp, so my RE decided to cancel any treatment/monitoring for this cycle, since my 'period' was just spotting and now I'm surging CD 5/6 (like darker line today than I've ever had before). Not sure whats going on with me. I'm told to call back if/when I get a real period. meh. I'll be stepping away from here for a while as I have no idea where I belong. sorry to bother you all so much.

*ETA Thanks @acleverusername. I had some false positives with clomid before. I hadn't even taken any letrozole yet. I was supposed to start yesterday but my surge started and now we're cancelling it all.

@acleverusername Thanks for the insight! I did letrozole for three months this spring with no effect, so we'll see if clomid is any different.

@acleverusername well, since you asked...

it was a long appointment of a lot of waiting, downside of her being a one woman show and she's very attentive. but, like welcome to drs offices, usually loads of waiting. so we went through my medical history, she was happy to get all the lab work from shady grove. she said MH lower morphology (3%) didn't alarm her. her initial thought based on 3 losses, and my appearance (i'm very thin) is endometriosis. she was very adamant she wants me to gain weight, **tw b/c weight is so sensitive** my BMI is below 18, this is just me genetically, my dad is also very thin, so she wants at a min 5lb weight gain, she was like all the full fat foods, go ham, don't limit *end TW* apparently there's a pretty hefty correlation between endometriosis and low BMI. she also is having me do labs for progesterone and insulin levels, even tho my A1C has been fine. there's something else between endometriosis and your pituitary gland?! (i might not be remember that correctly). agrees with progesterone after ovulation, and the biggest thing i guess, she is at the hospital tomorrow so she is squeezing me in for an HSG bc i'm CD6. so after a lot of waiting, it's amazing IMO that i can do the HSG tomorrow. she said at this point nothing is jumping out, and we'll see what the HSG tells us.

ok, now everyone else chime in with thoughts!! i want them!!

@abjm0325 thank you for the tip! I do have an occasional cough but it comes and goes very sporadically. I had to look up Delsym, we don't have that here in Canada but the active ingredient in that (dextromethorphan) is also in Tylenol Cold, which I do have.
@mambo5-2 Oooh +1 for hoping you don't need that last embryo!
@acleverusername I did consider that, but I was on my last day of weaning off of it as of Saturday so I was down to only 5mg EOD at that point. But yeah, slightly suppressed immune system + practically no sleep + being freezing cold stuck in a bowling alley most of the day = sickly Kiki. I was hoping I just caught a run-of-the-mill cold but confirmed by RAT & PCR. It's all good though, I credit my mild symptoms to being vaxxed and boosted and otherwise healthy.
@bearmomma1 ugh I'm so sorry that things have gone off the rails this cycle. You're never a bother here, half of IF is being in limbo and I'd argue that we all need just as much support through that as we do in the active cycles. Feel free to drop in as much or as little as you need to.

@anniemarie887 wow, I like this RE already. That's amazing that she could pull some strings to get you in for the HSG right away. She may have a good point about the weight thing. How do you feel about that? On the one hand, what better place to "go ham" than in Paris?? EAT ALL THE CHEESE.

@anniemarie887 to add to what @kiki047 re: "going ham" in Paris... EAT ALL THE BAGUETTE! It's so tasty there and even folks with gluten issues don't have them in Paris (or Europe, really). I've learned, btw, that it's because the wheat in Europe is _way more diverse_ whereas in NA, it's all the same stuff.

@kiki047 @acleverusername listen I’ll try anything! But I am that annoying human who is just naturally thin and really hasn’t been able to do anything about it, I have never restricted myself on food. I do fluctuate ~5lbs like most people do. I already use whole milk and all other full fat dairy products. I just ordered some protein bars (the amount of bar stuck in my teeth was ugh). And yes, thankfully no gluten or dairy issues, so trust me I was already salivating over European butter, bread, unclear if escargot and steak tartare are considered fattening but they’re on the agenda!! Haha.

And yes, I’m sitting at the hospital now, just waiting. Popped one of my 600mg ibuprofen I had left over. 🤞🏼

Edit to add: Well that was a doozy, not painful thankfully bc my cervix has been “accosted” a few times… but it took 3 tries and a different set of tubing to get the HSG done. Tubes look good, but there’s something shadowy going on in my uterus. So it appears a hysteroscopy is in my future. She said she’ll follow up and explain more, but that it would probably involve a balloon to make sure scar tissue couldn’t come back. Anybody been down this adventure?
