Re: I'm just here for the SEX!

  • I still can’t decide! Initially I really wanted to know, but now I’m kinda leaning towards keeping it a surprise! My husband doesn’t mind either way. I dunno!!!!

If we do decide to find out, we are planning to keep it a secret so everyone else will think we are team green! 🤫

@sprout1234 I'm just the opposite. At first I wanted a surprise, but  two weeks ago I went to a baby shower for a baby boy and now I want to know!
  • Sneek Peek at 7.5 wks said we’re having a girl, but we’ll know for sure in a couple weeks after the NIPT testing. Will follow up here with an update then…

FTM and we are keeping it a surprise so 💚💚💚
  • I'm so envious - we aren't doing an NIPT bc it isn't covered for us and is extremely expensive out of pocket (like $900). So we just have to go the old fashioned route of waiting for an US technician to tell us what it is if they see a nub haha. So we gotta wait a few more weeks likely unless that nub makes its appearance at my 12 week scan!
  • I had my NIPT test done at labcorp last Friday/27. I'm still waiting for my results, how long did everyone's results take? I'm going crazy over here!
  • @socasuallylaci I had mine done last Weds and I got them today. I was told 10-14 days, but sometimes as soon as a week. The wait is brutal!!
  • @narwhal33 someone else posted on another thread that LabCorp has a program called Every Mom Pledge that reduces the cost of the NIPT test to $300 out of pocket in order to make testing more accessible
  • I just received my bill from Natera for the Panorama (NIPT) and Horizon (genetic screening) tests.  Out of pocket without billing insurance was $174.50 per test for a total of $349. If we billed insurance, it was going to be $500 out of pocket but it would have counted towards my yearly deductible.
  • We’re Team Green!! We were for our first as well so all our newborn stuff is super neutral. My husband really likes the surprise. I see both sides and am happy to wait.

We are having the NIPT done and asking them not to tell us the sex, so a mistake could totally happen somewhere along the way by a provider who doesn’t know it’s a secret— I’ve had several friends find out by mistake. We shall see.
  • It’s a boy for us!

UPDATE: I just found out we’re going to be on Team pink!! 💗

we’re anxiously awaiting our NIPT results. We’re even doing a gender reveal soon. We’ll get results within the next 3-6 days (counting down from the initial 7-10 window we were given!) We’re doing a reverse reveal. We’re going to know and reveal it to family and friends at the gender reveal. I can’t wait. I’m team healthy baby.
  • Sneek Peek officially verified on NIPT test results: Team Pink Ladies 💕
  • It's a boy! I won't lie, I thought it was a girl this whole time, but I'm just happy to have a happy and healthy baby. All my NIPT results returned negative/not detected :)

Now on to search for a boy name I actually like 🙃 girl names are so much easier to come up with, lol
  • It’s a boy! I Believe!
  • I had my girls name picked out and loved it for years! I'm having a boy and I have no clue what I like. Lol.  annie_g
  • Lol this is me. We are having a boy and I'm stunned bc I have always imagined a girl and picked out a girl name and now I'm like wait what. Also bc this is likely to be our only child so I have to reconfigure all the images of our imagined future in my head lol. But maybe for the best. I love my mom but man do we have a contentious relationship. I was also a terrible teen. More than anything I hope my baby gets his dad's temper, ie, none, lol.

Same! We have two boys and I thought for sure we would have another boy but blood work came back a girl! I was not ready for that! Part of me still doesn’t believe she is actually a girl. We are getting an ultrasound tomorrow and I think once I see it on there it will actually become real to me.
  • I can finally vote! We just found out we're having a girl!
  • Lots of girls in December😃
  • Anatomy scan on Wednesday and I’m nervous. I know blood work came back as a girl but I really am not sure I believe it! Just want a healthy baby but I’d sure like a little girl after 3 boys. Our final baby just wants to keep me on my toes!
  • When is your anatomy scan? What blood work did you do nipt? I did sneak peek at a lab. I'm waiting for my ultrasound this week to confirm gender.
  • Finally had our anatomy scan this morning and it’s a boy! Last week was the longest week ever waiting for this appointment haha. Soooo excited
  • It’s official! We’re having a boy!!
  • Just found out this weekend, we're having a boy like we hoped 😭🤗
  • So many December boys!
  • I always wanted a girl, but was so convinced I was having a boy that I decided to find out at the anatomy scan, which I hadn't been planning on doing.  I was so surprised when I found out I'm having a girl!  I was even more surprised when some sadness came up after finding out she's a girl.  The sadness also surprised me.  I wasn't sad that she's a girl.  (I actually feel a little guilty that I preferred a girl over a boy, because I know that shouldn't matter.)  The sadness that came up was realizing she'll have less safety and less freedom just because she's a girl.  That hit me like a ton of bricks because I had none of that to face when I thought she was a boy.  Anyhow, long story, I worked through that.  I know that I'll raise her to know her worth and be a strong and confident woman.  I can't control the world so that is what it is.  There are so many people that this world throws away or hurts because of their identity that this is hardly a rare circumstance - in fact, it's the more common circumstance.  I was just surprised by how my heart processed that when it was my kid it'll happen to.  All that said, I'm still so happy to be lucky enough to be having a girl.  ❤️
  • @mahalove108 I honestly felt the same way when I found out I was having a girl when I had my oldest. I am still scared for her, she has beautiful blonde curly hair and she gets a lot of compliments and comments in public which is nice but makes me worry she'll be a target. I'm having a boy this go around and I honestly still worry for him, a bit different worries but still worried. All we can do is our best and be vigilant and teach them to be vigilant.
