  • Hi all - I am just catching up on all of the above (it was March Break in Canada last week so I was trying to "unplug" a bit from my devices) and please do count me in for the private group! One of my big regrets with my November 2018 group is I started a new job halfway through my pregnancy and became pretty inactive on the board, then when everyone went private I was not included and I really missed the community! I am trying hard to remain active here, but it has been busy with the year we have had so far (my son has caught pretty much every bug from his new preschool, and I am currently recovering from covid) but I promise I will be more active in a private group, as I am always fairly cautious to share in a public forum.
  • 🤣🤣 I am down for beach babes or beached whales

  • Baby, you're a firework is really cute!!!
  • Great idea! First pick would be “baby, you’re a firework” second is definitely “beached whales” 🤣🤣
  • @inthewoods23 Trying to get caught up on mobile  :#
I can definitely appreciate your opinion on adding newly introd members to the private group. That definitely seems to be the consensus with the group too. So sounds like a perfectly reasonable plan!
As far as who creates the group, it's usually one of the admins. I think if you create the group then you're automatically an admin? I can also get it started, but didn't want to volunteer myself as an admin and assume everyone was OK with that 🤷‍♀️ (plus TB is being weird today).

Love both suggested names! I have no doubt that DD will be a little firecracker!

  • I like July Beach Babies! 👶 though all the name suggestions are great!
  • Happy with any of the name suggestions. Beach babies or baby your a firework are my faves

i agree on new people having to wait a bit to be added - feels weird to me to be like, I’m new and I want into the private group right away 🤷🏻‍♀️
  • @LJMoon6 I'm totes fine with you starting the group and also being an admin (if others agree as well)! I'm afraid that I will end up being early with the twins and be back and forth to the NICU (my constant panic thought every second, of every day haha) and I will let my admin duties fall to the wayside haha. Always good to have others to jump in!
  • @LJMoon6 - Also fine with you being an admin!

I've been reading along but haven't been commenting because I have no issues with or differing opinions from anything that's already been expressed.   :)

Also, I think both the firework and whale names are great...but lean slightly towards the whales only because KP is not my jam.
  • @zwink1 I've never been a fan of the song myself. It gets old fast! I'm also more about rock music than pop.

I was also wondering, is anyone outside the US? Wasn't sure if it would be weird to have a 4th of July reference for our group name if we don't all celebrate that holiday. Or maybe no one cares 🤷‍♀️

I prefer the whale one or beach babies, but I'm cool with firework if that's what everyone wants. I'm just not a fan of the song but the name is sort of cute if I can stop hearing KP wailing at that line.

I actually like some of her stuff, just not that one

Should we make a survey to vote on these three? Are these the only three suggestions?

  • I am also not a KP fan but will listen if it happens to be on someone's radio haha. I'm open to whatever works for everyone! @inthewoods23 had a good point about non-US folks not being tied to the 4th of July/firework theme.

A vote is a good idea! Should we give it another day or so for anyone else to drop a suggestion? Also, FYI Aug 22 has already migrated to a PG, which is wicked early in my opinion.
  • Ah! So glad the app is working again! I use FB daily, so I'm good with joining a private group there, if you'll have me. 😁
  • July Bundles of Joy

That's all I've got! I was trying to find "J" words and there is just nothing jumping out at me - I am also fine with either of the other two names! I'm non-US but Canada Day is in July and we have fireworks, so it's all good with me :)
  • Thanks for setting it up, @inthewoods23 !
  • @inthewoods23 I am Mrs. Excel so if you don't want to create a spreadsheet with members, I definitely can. Whenever it is created, just add me as an admin and I'll whip it up tomorrow probs.
  • Thanks for setting it up @inthewoods23. The bump wasn't working for me yesterday on app or computer so glad it's working today! Will we get a notification about getting added to group?
  • @sjb2215 I think so. Or it comes as a PM? Just in case I'll tag everyone I send an invite to so they know to go looking for it.

  • @zinnia19 I'll tag you all here to check your inboxes. Still wanting on TB support to get back to me on how to f'ing create a private group! Gah!!

  • @inthewoods23 That’s for checking on that! I was looking for the button earlier this week but couldn’t find it either. I thought it was maybe still lingering effects of the weird bug I ran into earlier and was hoping someone else still had access to it. Oh well. Typical bump and their bugs lol.

  • @inthewoods23 why do we do the picture for a bump private group? Wouldn’t our screen names be the same? I don’t mind doing it, I just don’t get why 😅 I’ve never been in a private group here so I don’t know how it all works lol
  • @zwink1 I didn’t think of catfish. Yikes! That makes total sense. And the user @wigglyicecream mentioned is really disturbing.
  • @oli9 we had some very very disturbing trolls/ one offs. One where the person was comparing the size of her kids genitals.

@zwink1  I’ve heard about the catfish people who pretend to be pregnant. I just don’t get it, I know life is lonely and the internet is vast, I’m sure there’s something out there for each and every type of weird. Leave us pregnant people alone. I don’t see how trying to infiltrate a bunch of people who are suffering from nausea, constipation, and heart burn just to name a few is exciting. Lol
  • @oli9 and @wigglyicecream right! I can think of 100 different things that seem more interesting than trolling internet chat boards full of pregnant people when you're not pregnant...but hey, what do I know.

The moat memorable recent catfish that I can think of got called out by some eagle-eyed TTGP members who noticed some inconsistencies in their stories across different boards.  They eventually fessed up and 'disappeared.'  This person had participated in a number of different boards over the course of a few years too, so it wasn't like someone just got bored one weekend and created a short-term account.  People were very unsettled.
