@b_1029 I was eating ice cream sundaes almost every night before my glucose test and was VERY surprised I passed. I fully support your donut today.
@skc040512 I had that the other day and surprisingly saw a trumpet at Homegoods the same day and picked it up to see. Normally would have no idea at all lol
Totally not baby related, but I talked myself into another meal subscription. Has anyone used Everyplate? We use to use Hello Fresh but it got pricey and we got busy. I'm subscribed and will have a discount for my first 4 boxes with a student promotion, but was just curious to how similar it was to Hello Fresh if anyone here has done both?
If your curious I'll be more than happy to update you on our experience with it, lol. We get our first box 3/8 (we waited since I just bought a ton of groceries).
If you HAVEN'T ever done a meal sub, they are sooooo convientent especially if your super busy. We did it for couple months when DH and I both worked two jobs before pregnancy. I had a friend talk us into it because it saved her time cooking/meal planning and her kiddos liked *most* of the recipes. We just ended up so busy in the afternoons during the summer we wasn't home enough to cook and canceled + Hello Fresh got pricey after the promotions ran out.
ETA: If you have done it, what were your favorite recipes?
I usually love assembling furniture and have never had issues until I’ve tried to assemble this effing dresser. After I broke the wood the first time, they sent me a replacement part. Tried to assemble it this afternoon and a part kept slipping loose, so I tightened it very slightly…and it popped through the wood again. Like wtf. For a dresser/changer that costs over $350, you’d think it would be better quality than the $100 items I’ve put together from ikea. I am so annoyed right now.
@sph97 I haven't tried that specific meal program but I am a fan of meal deliveries for busy times. We did a month of deliveries post partum for after our freezer meals ran out and it was awesome.
@b_1029 that sounds so frustrating! I can't believe it would break again - are you going to return it?
@jandawg no but I’m literally ready to throw it out the window. I’m too stubborn to quit and now like half the things will screw in but the other half won’t 🤪 it’s the same brand as DD’s crib which was super easy to assemble (delta children) but this POS is the worst thing I’ve ever tried to make and I’ve built a lot of furniture. Can you tell I’m frustrated lol
@b_1029 I'm pretty sure I had to redrill pilot holes for our changing table topper (either that or the wall anchor pilot holes) from our expensive crate and barrel furniture. YOU CAN'T EVER WIN.
Putting together DDs pottery barn kitchen set was even more maddening. 😵💫
I'm sure you've already checked it, but did you use the right screws in the right place? That's always my downfall, using screw M instead of L even though they look exactly the freaking same.
@pajamstagrams yes as far as I can tell, I followed the instructions! I finally just gave up after over an hour of trying to do 1 step. 4/7 screws would go in and the others just. Will. Not. No matter what I do. I tried to take them all out to start over, but I can’t get one to budge even though I didn’t tighten it all the way. Doing super well over here. I guess this kid just won’t have a dresser since there are barely any that are changing table height that are small enough to fit in the space it needs to. If DH can’t do it tonight im over it.
ETA the step is attaching the bottom rail thing that it stands on and I 100% would’ve just kept going if I could’ve gotten at least 1 screw in on all 4 sides (seems sturdy enough), but couldn’t get any on 1 side so it was loose. Ughhhhh.
@MrsLaLaBug I threw one of the screws across the room and it made me feel slightly better 😆 I also took a break to stomp my feet on the floor like a toddler. We have plumbers here and they were probably like wtf
@And846 do you have a birth thread on your spotlight schedule? I know we had a couple light touches on unmedicated birth in the hospital bag thread, would others be interested in a generic birth thread in the near future? Open to all choices? (Med free, epi, c section, birth center, home birth) or would people prefer to split hospital birth vs birth center/home? Or another way? Side note, I've seen birth threads get *ugly* on other BMBs just over the term "natural" so I would say... let's not use that term regardless lol.
(Also.. pregnancy brain, we don't already have this thread, right?? 🙈🙈)
@pajamstagrams I don’t remember seeing this thread come up in the past, but I definitely think it’s a good time to start one! I know we have a few twins here, and there’s usually someone who goes early (fx not too early), so I feel like March is a good time to start that discussion.
@pajamstagrams I’m fine with a general birth thread rather than splitting it up. Agree about the other bmbs getting nasty with “natural” birth. I don’t love the term either.
I’m good with a birth thread! We can use “vaginal” rather than “natural”. Also, I’m the woman who edited the midwives’ information binder. I think the word “normal” has no place when talking about birth. There’s enough anxiety about birthing that someone doesn’t need to be told their birth is “abnormal” just because it isn’t textbook. I scratched it out and changed it to “vaginal” or “uncomplicated” or whatever.
WHY ARE THERE SO MANY TROLLS ALL THE SUDDEN!!!!!!????? Like no… I’m NOT going to share any info or my experience with any of my miscarriages with you, you just joined 5 days ago and you’re on the WRONG board for being 7 weeks pregnant…. 🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️
@MrsLaLaBug I have no idea, I don’t remember really having any in the past and there have been so many this past week! Our Ttgp catfish was named kels so that UN immediately raised my hackles haha
As a FTM, I would love a birth thread! Personally aiming for an unmedicated vaginal birth but also completely aware that I might change my mind when it’s actually go time or my baby/body decides different for me.
Will I ever have enough energy to parent DD on weekend mornings or will this be our lives forever?
eta we did play for like 45 minutes before this but once she wants to watch “no no” (we don’t talk about Bruno) it’s pretty much over and I don’t fight it
Do we have a thread on baby monitors? I hate ours and would love recommendations. I’d like it to be a video monitor with good night vision, a parent monitor (not solely an app), and be able to add a second camera. Anyone have one they love?
I like ours from Amazon. The brand is Babysense and it’s their most basic video monitor. (They have some that are $200… this is not that one! Hah! I believe the same manufacturer also brands it as “Anmeate” or something). You can get multiple cameras to hook up to the same parent monitor if you have multiple kids. It is simple but does everything I want. I can see and hear baby, I can see the temp, and there is a talk feature so I can tell my toddler to lay the heck back down haha.

i can move it up and have it be the Spotlight for tomorrow!
