Beyond relieved! Little babe showed off its fingers, toes and how it could move its arms and legs for us. Strong HR at 170, measured exact to the day at 9w2d! After a MMC in 2020, this could not be better news ❤
We had our 12 week nuchal translucency scan yesterday. It was very exciting seeing the baby again. They emailed us pictures and even a video of the baby kicking (obviously at 12 weeks 2 days I can't feel that).
I love all of these looking more like babies and less like cute little shrimp!! 💚
What are our thoughts about nub theory? We have a private scan on Saturday and I’m DYING to know the gender, but we don’t have our anatomy scan until 20w and passed on NIPT.
Current pregnancy - First BFP on 1/4/22. Due date 9/13/22.
Four prior losses, no living children - 1 first trimester miscarriage, 1 blighted ovum, 1 chemical, and one extreme premature live birth daughter who died at 15 days old.
@kboydbowman LOL. I’m clinging to whatever I can get. It’s just like wives tales - they might be silly, but yet we do it.
@laj0217 nub theory: “The Nub Theory is all about something called the genital tubercle, or a ‘nub’. All babies have this between their legs and it develops between 11-13 weeks, turning into a penis in males and a clitoris in females.” If it’s over a 30 degree angle from the spine, it’s a boy. If it’s under that, it’s a girl.
I mean, it makes sense to my non-scientific mind lol
Hi @morgmcd and welcome to the board. Make sure to stop by the introductions thread and introduce yourself!

Absolutely amazing ultrasound today. Baby measuring exactly on track for 11w5, except the legs and feet measuring 5 days ahead (12w3)! My husband is 6’8 so looks like that trait is carrying though! Heartbeat 164 and we got to see a cute little round of hiccups and a couple punches 🥰 baby had their feet crossed and was sucking their thumb! Attaching a profile shot and showing the little arms up by the face.
Here’s my babe! 12w3d today for the NT scan. Fortunately everything looks normal and I already have a normal NIPT result. Unfortunately she was so cozy that she was very difficult to measure. They couldn’t get an NT or nasal bone measurement. Finally they were able to get her to stretch out (with lots of belly mashing and repositioning) for a CRL measurement which was on track with dates. They saw all the important parts. Feeling very reassured even without any official measurements. ☺️
Here we are at 12+1! Due date is still 9/12 and baby is looking good.
Any other plus-size mamas here? Had a bit too much 'padding' to get a clear image of baby with a traditional ultrasound, so they had to do a transvaginal for imaging yesterday. The initial shots were scary!
NT scan this morning at 12 + 1. Heart rate 147. Now I just have to try not to be nervous until the official results of this and the NIPT come in.

We officially graduated from the fertility clinic and our next appointment will be at the regular OB/GYN! Baby is measuring 3 days ahead and this is the first time I got to see her move! So fun.
First ultrasound Wednesday at 10 weeks. On point for 28 September. Baby is moving and heat beat is strong at 168 bpm. It is unreal to me still. Finally, I was able to tell my parents with the sonogram. This will be their third grandchild (first from me). Just can't wait to hear my sister sob incoherently on the phone when she finds out.
So thankful for understanding and supportive OBGYNs! I went in for my 10 week checkup (no ultrasound). When I told me OB how anxious I was about the pregnancy (PGAL), she offered to do a bedside ultrasound, instead of just the Doppler, so I could rest easy!
This is our third US but our first visit with the OBGYN at 10+2. She did a physical & let us see our littlest love 🖤
He/She was very active. He/She was sucking it's thumb & then she got the baby to wave at us. It was sooo sweet. I had been a little anxious given the majority of my symptoms had disappeared & still not really here ATM but I'm remaining positive. We got to hear the FHR for the first time (164bpm) - we were soo caught up in the moment that we forgot to record it 🤦♀️
I'm currently 11+4 and will have the NT scan on the 14th. Wish us luck!
NT scan at 12+1. Everything measuring around that except CRL which is measuring at 13w! My DD was born at 55cm so it'll be no surprise if this babe continues to measure weeks ahead for their length. Heartbeat of 156bpm but we didn't get to hear The quality of the imaging isn't amazing so I might see if I can get a private one done when I go visit my parents next week ❤
Measuring a week ahead! New due date is 8 September instead of the 17th. It was our first ultrasound and part of the nuchal translucency nipt check. Baby is healthy and I am so happy that hubby could be in the room to experience the moment with me:) Seeing the images as they moved around and hearing the heart makes it feel more real!
Measured ahead by like… a week 😂 no wonder I’ve been so tired. Excited to go over the results in detail on Friday even if I have the notes in the MyHealth app. As you see, kiddo was nestled in the back and quite a bit of squish was required to see anything. This was funny because we saw a lot of JUMPING to get away from the scanner. Like “Stop squishing me! I was having such a nice time and you are bothering me!” I had a full bladder and had to first relieve myself halfway for the US tech to see anything, then all the way to see better. Like thanks, chugging 32oz of water was really not pleasant so super I’m glad it was a complete waste 🤣m
I feel so much better about my pregnancy after seeing arms, legs, head, body, heartbeat… and jumping. Man, summer’s going to be fun if there is so much activity already 😅 but now I feel connected.
Note: I lost it to giggles on this photo because it looks like two alien eyes and a nose and a really weird mouth. Wait, is that what it is…? Funny either way.
Went to a boutique ultrasound place today. It’s been almost 2 months since our last ultrasound so it was so good to see little man and get some of our first 3D images! He was so wiggly and not so happy that we were disturbing him. It was crazy to see him jumping around and still not feeling it yet.
Cletus the Fetus at 14+5. It's harder to get whole baby shots with the transvaginal ultrasounds, but we are measuring cervical length and getting to see the baby it's just a side bonus. Heart rate looks good and he kicked for the camera. Cervical length was 4.7, which is good and consistent with the last measurement.

Cletus the Fetus at 16+1. Waving and kicking up a storm. Just as importantly, cervix still at 4.57 cm.

We went to an ultrasound boutique and had a blast! Already knew the sex from the NIPT but got a confirmation (laughed really hard at the hand pointing to NO PENIS basically). We got our first 3D ultrasound but she’s still little and looked like mush 🤣
Got to see little peanut on a whim today! Confirmed that he is definitely a boy! And very very active. He moved the entire time we were trying to get pictures. Anatomy scan on April 25th to make sure everything looks like it should!
