Re: Weekly Randoms 2/9

  • @trapperkeeper87 definitely not weird! I have an ongoing note on my phone with a hospital bag checklist. I also packed mine super early last time, just to be safe too haha. I just didn't want to have to think about it later.

  • To add the to the hospital list, fingernail clippers. I labored in a tub for like an entire day and then we ended up staying in the hospital for 4 days and I was so worried I would scratch baby with my nasty long fingernails.
  • So I'm definitely a type B person. I packed my bag when I was on my way out of the house because I was in labor and they were going to induce me more? My first time was a planned c-section and I packed the night before.

The only thing I made sure I had the second time was a pair of sandals because my husband brought mine home the first time in my get undressed you're having a c-section bag and I ended up going home barefoot. The second time my feet were so swollen my sneakers and birks wouldn't fit, so I went home barefoot again. I'm thinking maybe I'll grab some giant shoes this time in hopes I get to wear shoes home 😂
  • @jhysmath
Crocs! I don't love the look of them, but I have a pair to throw on quick if I'm running outside. Last time I was in labor, my water broke at home and I wore my slippers to the hospital. They were squishy as I walked into the hospital to check in and I threw them away after that. At least with the crocs, they can get washed off and they won't squish! LOL
  • My hospital is, like, renowned for their food. I had this ah-mazing veggie quesadilla after I gave birth and I legit still think about it. 😂

  • @mnmomma84 good call on the crocs. I have never owned a pair, but they look like they might be big enough to hold my grossly swollen feet after my c-sections.

  • d00d.  I hadn't realized how cheap the 3D/4D ultrasounds are.  We have a place a mile up the road from me.  $160 for two separate sessions (one at 16-20 weeks and one at 25-30) weeks, includes 45 minute session each time, heartbeat bear, video, and multiple color and black and white photos.  I am totally doing this.
    Current pregnancy -
First BFP on 1/4/22.  Due date 9/13/22.

Four prior losses, no living children - 1 first trimester miscarriage, 1 blighted ovum, 1 chemical, and one extreme premature live birth daughter who died at 15 days old.

  • @kboydbowman Yes! We did this last time and loved it. It was much more intimate than rushing through it in the doctor's office.
